Always lost in MK as to what to eat, so came here for a dim sum dinner.
It is situated in the middle of ladies market, where all the tourists are, but surprisingly there is no English on the menu.
Not sure if the food here was considered cheap or expensive, but usually I find the quality of expensive dimsum the normal quality you get in UK so for super quality I would need to go to a super expensive restaurant .
I am not the only expat that has this problem with finding good local food in a local place, quite a shame actually that a place cant serve good local food!
There were about seven items crossed off on the list because they were not available!
Ordered the following:
Crispy savoury wasabi meat croquette
This was different to how I expected it to be. I visualised a croquette with creamy light green sauce inside.
The first one I tried had no wasabi taste, the second one I tried, I found a big lump, but no wasabi taste at all.
chicken feet in vinegar
The vinegar is too sweet and not that savoury.
It was garnished with lots of coriander.
The vinegar sauce for this dish was very generous!
If it hadnt taste so sweet, I would have used the remaining vinegar to dip other stuff.
rice with spare ribs and chicken feet
There was nothing spectacular about it, the rice and meat was just ok.
chicken feet in XO sauce
usually this is served in black bean sauce or abalone, but this place uses XO.
The XO sauce was faint, however the garlic was strong.
It was slightly spicy, but if you didnt know it was XO sauce, it just tastes like the normal ones.
prawn rice rolls
Nothing special, the prawns were not evenly distributed.
Luckily the waitor was generous with the soy sauce because it was bland.
soup dumpling with abalone
The pork in this wasnt that fresh, but did find a whole mini abalone as stated.
beancurd rolls in soup
Again the pork in this was not that fresh, and it was oily.
