Appolo has been around for decades but their popularity died down a few years ago because of the froyo trend.
Many shops in the city closed so I am glad there is an [enjoy Appolo] joint at T.O.P Mall which offers more than froyos.

Tried the pistachio milk ice cream which was a bit disappointing but then for HKD20 a scoop I didn't expect much.
I'm guessing they didn't come up with a pure pistachio flavour because it would be expensive for them to produce so they created pistachio and milk.
The ice cream was just too sweet and you couldn't really taste the pistachio.
The mint chocolate Macaron which looks like a packet of sanitary towels fared better.
Although it has slightly melted before it reached the shop, the mint ice cream and macaron were in harmony.
The macaron is crispy and chewy while the ice cream in the middle was soothing and minty.
Asian mint flavours are weirdly light blue whereas in Europe Mint is pale green.

Normally I get the fruit froyos but went past and saw this colourful icecream called The Earth

I don't really like eating foods with blue colouring but as it was marshmallow mint I decided to give it a try.
There was no price displayed but it turned out up to be HKD10 at the cash till which is pretty inexpensive.
I've forgotten how cheap their ice creams are because I usually get the frozen yoghurts.
Anyway, it just tasted like their usual mint chocolate ice cream with blue and green colouring.
There were bits of marshmallow in it too but I didn't find much.
Overall, if you like mint icecream then you will like it but for me it was just a once off trying it for a picture as I really do not like colourings.

I have been addicted with these froyos because everytime I try a new fruit combination my mind is already thinking ahead on the next visit.

This time I had the pineapple and coconut.

The pineapple and coconut was actually really good because it tastes like pinacolada and the pineapple chunks are juicy and refreshing.
However the pineapple and coconut bits can be rather woody because all the juice is drawn out when they are constantly stored in the freezer.

I love the frozen yoghurts at Appolo, they taste natrual and it is just frozen yoghurt blended with frozen fruits.

Fig and apricot frozen yogurt:
The fig and apricot was a new flavour that costs $40.
I felt that it was a bit too expensive for an Appolo product because their products are usually cheap.
At $40 is costs more than some of the icecreams at LabMade.
It seems that they are slowly rebranding and making their products more deluxe such as the new ice-cream rolls.
Anyway, when it was made, they put more apricot than fig into the bowl.
They only put one small whole fig in it.

As for the taste, the apricot was more prominent and the fig was not that apparent but you could taste the occasional sweetness and seeds from the fig.

My favourite item here is the yoghurt with fresh fruit, but I wanted to get the free Mars bar so I ended up buying 3 cups of sundaes.
ACTUALLY I BELIEVE IT CAN BE BOUGHT SEPARATELY because on the flyer it said $11.8 if you buy it on its own, but since the woman there firmly said you cant buy it on its own, I got other stuff too.
To be honest, people in Hong Kong are just scared to make decisions on behalf of the company or even bother to phone up and ask colleagues.
Some companies are profits first so you have to purchase their house branded products.
Looking back, I was young and stupid to not have written to Appolo about the situation.
Anyway the sundae, was just three layers of ice-cream, vanilla, strawberry then chocolate, the strawberry tasted fake, and the other two layers were ok.
The Mars bar is not a product by Apollo, but imported, it tasted of sweet ice-cream with caramel.
