[Review 2290] Hazelnut and chocolate froyo @ Yo Mama

Since my last visit, there are now six branches of Yo Mama in Hong Kong with Wan Chai being their first branch.
I have not had a froyo for a long time because I have been bored of the flavours especially at Yo Mama because they only had original and green tea.
This time they had hazelnut and chocolate froyo which was the reason I why I came.
The toppings were unchanged and the variety was the roughly the same as before with fruit, cereal, sweets etc.
The decor of this froyo joint was the same as my first visit and the sitting area lighting was really dark.

Froyo:
I chose the green tea mochi and realised there was a jar of meringues as well so I got the meringues.
The hazelnut chocolate froyo was really nice because it was really thick and viscous and the taste of chocolate was not powdery.
The meringues were cute and colourful and not too sweet, whilst the green tea mochi was deliciously soft and chewy.

When their first branch opened in MK I really wanted to go but it was really hard trying to get a froyo from there because there were so many people and it was so noisy making it hard to order.
Then they opened their next store in Central which was really accessible but when you get to Central there is so much choice that I end up going elsewhere.
I wonder how long this shop will stay open because Yogo Frozen Yogurt which was nearby has closed down.
The difference at this branch is that it is decorated with Hello Kitty and the spoons are Hello Kitty too!
The spoon comes in pink or blue.
I usually collect the spoons if they are nice.

The froyo cup also had Hello Kitty on it.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Green tea:
Quite nice but it was quite icy.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Raspberry tart:
This was my favourite the raspberry flavouring was quite natural.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Vanilla:
As well as the raspberry the vanilla tasted quite nice too, the vanilla taste was quite strong.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Signature tart:
I was quite disappointed with this one because it wasnt tarty enough.

Found out from Spicygal's review that they are going to move to Cyberport so I just had to get their yogurt again.
However found out that they do pizza's as well so I hope to come again and try the pizzas before they move.

Cyberport is really far away so I hope they open another branch, but I think Cyberport would be a good location for them because their vibrant themes and designs would match those settings.

I love their froyos but last time I could only try two flavours so I did not try the original.

This time I ordered the Original Tart and I wished they had Taro too because that was my favourite as well.

The Original Tart had a really nice natrual yogurt taste and for the toppings I chose Honey Mochi which was so lovely and soft and not too sweet.

It was the softest mochi topping I have tried and it was cut to reasonably big size pieces.
I am also really gutted I havent their other wacky froyo flavours such as:
Chocolate mint toothpaste, hazelnut chocolate, pistachio and greet tea!

Anyway, I hope to try their pizza soon before they move because they are all VEGETARIAN!! and I was surprised by the vegetarian beef and chicken ingredients, If I do make it before they move I hope I can try some other froyo flavours too.

[Review 1444] A really nice taro flavoured froyo @ Eski Mo's Frozen Yogurt

I have always wanted to try this Froyo joint but never got round to going.
Anyway, the taro froyo was the one I have always wanted to try and the Indian alphonso mango as well.
The interesting thing is Joda's cup [which used to be located opposite this place] had a green mango slush as well that was nice.

I like any mango flavours as long as they are not the Orange coloured ones sold in HK.
I don’t know what type of mango that is, but it has a taste that I do not like.
The type that I like is the Australian mango, which is red and green on the outside.
Anyway there were only four flavours that day: Alphonso mango, Taro, Strawberries and Cream, green tea and original.
I was only allowed to sample two flavours, which was disappointing because if they did taste nice I would have got an extra cup of yoghurt.
I tried the Alphonso mango, which was slightly slushy, and the other one I tried was the strawberries and cream.
I wanted to try the green tea and original flavour as well, but I had already tried two samples so I couldn’t try anymore.
So in the end I just got the Taro froyo. The taro flavour was really nice; it was the taste I was expecting but did not get from Razzleberry.
Razzleberry had a really nice concept, but their froyo let them down.
The tartness was really pleasant and not acidic yet creamy at the same time.
As for the strawberries and cream it tasted like fresh strawberries grounded with cream.
On my next visit I want to try the original and green tea froyo and other interesting flavours which they might have.

[Review 1389] Hokkaido milk froyo with reminiscence of Yoplait @ kiss n' joy

I have always wanted to try this place for the Strawberry yoghurt.
But twice I couldn’t find it because I went the wrong direction.

At the end of Hau Fook Road, I turned left where all the snack bars were located when I should have walked to the right hand side!

As there were four flavours, I did not know which flavour to get, so I asked to try the Strawberry because I wanted to get that anyway.
The staff must have read my mind because I wanted to try the hokkaido one as well and they gave me a sample of that too.

Samples
The décor of the shop was really nice, the colour theme was white and apple green.

The only disadvantage was the standing area was quite small, so it was easy to trip down the steps when it got packed.

In the end I decided to get the golden kiwi drink because golden kiwi is not always available.

As it was a cold day the drink was extremely thick. It tasted just right without the honey because the yogurt was sweet.
There was a strange feeling from drinking kiwi because kiwi seeds have enzymes on it, and after the blending process, the seeds got grounded releasing more enzymes.
It is very similar to biting into white grape seeds.

Next time I’ll be back for the froyo.
From the samples, the froyo was nice and thick, it was slightly lumpy.
The strawberry one tastes exactly like Yoplait’s strawberry fromage frais so I really liked it.

One of the toppings was interesting.
Parsley!

[Review 1322] A place for an editor's inspirations @ EDIT

Came here after getting Sugar Cane juice from Gung Lee, the EDIT letters stood out from across the road.
The letters reminded me of the pieces of letter from the game SCRAMBLE.
Inside the Froyo joint, it reminded me of Kiehls skincare, on the second floor there is a clothing shop.
As well as the fixtures, it was good to see designed articles by the shop.
The toppings were contained in beakers like the ones from chemistry labs and the sink looked like a clinical/medical one.
Even the lighting itself was jazzed up, my favourite was the jar lighting and the irregular filament.
The froyo cups were good too, but I did not get the colourful version which was the pastel blue or pink.
T

he froyo was not memorable. It just tasted very basic, not too sweet or sour.

[Review 1257] Kings N Cream kingdom fit for the King @ Kings N Cream

Shop G23,1 Kwong Wah Street, Mong Kok
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/kings-n-cream-kingdom-fit-for-the-king-e2191454

Came here during the month they first opened, and since then there has been some improvement and changes.
They now have designed ice-creams and yogurts which remind me of Smile.
I was given a loyalty card this time which is really cute, especially the stamps on the card, I liked the chocolate chips and the orange stamp featured on their sample chop card.

Although there is more choice, I still chose the plain yogurt with one topping because I felt that their yogurt was really nice on its own it didn't need lots of sauce and other topping to compliment it!
I always believe that a good dish/dessert shouldn't need to have things added because it is not tasteless.
The yogurt was still as refreshing as my first visit, and it did not have that artificial milk powder taste like in other places.
The guy was really nice because he offered samples their ice-cream without me asking.
For the samples I tried chocolate and green tea, the green tea and chocolate ice-cream was very strong, but nice.
At other places even if you asked, they don't offer samples.
My Froyo was lovely and cold, but NOT ICY.

First visit:
http://www.openrice.com/restaurant/commentdetail.htm?commentid=2179300

So far, this is my favourite NATURAL FROYO place, but for sweet localised froyo, my favourite place would be ROLL because I like their thick version. But according to healthy Froyo I would pick this place because it dosnt contain much sugar and I loved the tartness of it.

[Review 1237] Froyo made high end and artistic @ Smile Yogurt & Dessert Bar

There are so many places selling Froyo these days that competition is fierce.

I was attracted to this place because their froyo was artistic.
Instead of plain froyo with toppings, they looked like artisan sundaes with attractive names.

Some of the toppings were interesting such as the vanilla crisp, which were thinly baked vanilla biscuit/cookies shaped into long curls.

They also had these pretty biscuit sticks similar to the Japanese coated biscuit sticks.
One of the toppings was weird, it was called "fruit salad" but at least they used greek yogurt instead of Heinz salad cream.

I wanted to try the froyo, so I just got plain froyo with green tea mochi.
The mochi was very different to the other places, it was thin pieces of powdered mochi squares!
As for the froyo, it was boring but too sweet.

The decoration of this place was quite modern and upscale.
