SADLY this wet market has been renovated and this delicious dimsum place had to shut down.
Anyway, there  is now a smaller dimsum joint called Tong Kee Bao Dim which is not really new but one of the leaders in Takeaway dimsum.
Evidently it is very successful with branches everywhere BECAUSE HONG KONG PEOPLE JUST HAVE TO HAVE THEIR DIMSUMS.
However it is interesting why they would have such a branch with a dine in area or perhaps MCP  is encouraging some specific joints to have a dine in area for customers. Currently Kingyo tea, Koi and TP teas which are takeaways have dine in areas at MCP.
A while ago, I overheard a conversation that malls are not being so strict with what shops/restaurants can rent a shop what but saying that another shop in Whampoa who said they were not allowed to sell too much snacks but focusing on other products.
Went here twice as on the first round, I only two items to see if they were edible.
It was a pity I did not take a photo of the gyoza when I got it as there was a biro mark on it which I was definitely not eating.
THE LADY ALMOST ATTEMPTED TO JUST REMOVE THE BLUE SPOT BUT AS IT PROVED DIFFICULT SHE FINALLY EXCHANGED THE GYOZA.
SHE LAUGHED IT OFF SAYING IT WAS THE INGREDIENTS USED WHEN CLEARLY IT WAS PEN INK!
Or perhaps this is their new stylish instaworthy gyoza!
The gyozas were actually quite good because the pork and oil was fresh. The buns are basically the same as the steamed ones but pan fried.
Went there again as the gyozas and buns deemed fit for consumption and this time I got a box and some sauce which was not given to me on the first round.
The satay beef bun was sweeter filled with lots of beef inside.

Just like McDonalds, Tong Kee Bao Dim has varying prices depending on location.
To be honest, I confuse this joint easily with Tong Bao Dim.
As I was still hungry I got two vegetarian mushroom veggie buns which turned out to be bigger than I expected.
They cost HKD7.5 each but at some other stores you can expect the buns to range from HKD6.5-7.5.
These buns can be identified by pieces visible carrots which the other buns don't have.
If you're a fan of Shanghainese Veg buns then you will love these as they are much bigger loaded with carrots, black fungus and some other crunchy veg inside.
The only thing I didn't like was the bun as it was sweetened but the texture was fluffy and soft.

Tong Kee Bao Dim is quite a good joint to pick up dimsums fast and easy.Decided to try two new items: vegetable bun and the ox stomach.
The vegetable bun was huge and thick that there was little space for the filling.
The taste was ok but there was more bun to filling which makes it tasteless.
The texture of the bun was soft and fluffy but it was a bit dry to swallow.

The radish and ox stomach was really really salty that I recommend getting some noodles and mixing them together or rinse it in hot water before eating.
It really baffles me how much sodium Hongkongers can take per day and stay alive!

I rarely buy buns from this place but there was this new satay beef bun so I decided to get it.
It was $7 and the bun was quite big!
The filling tasted surprisingly good because it wasn't too sweet with a decent savoury satay taste to it.
The beef was a little chewy for my liking.
I didn't really like bun because it was a bit dry.
Might return for the tripe.

Hong Kongers love dimsums, so this joint is really popular for takeaways.

I rarely get anything from here but as I was still a bit hungry I decided to try the sweet potato which was really cheap and big for $6.

For that price I don’t expect top nosh dim sum quality.

The bun was fluffy but there was still a weird flour taste and it was a bit dry, but at least it was big which meant 50% of it is was good.

The filling was better than expected because it was really silky and not too sweet.
