You can never go wrong with PRET!
This time got the almond butter and it was thick and creamilicious.
It was topped with pomegranite seeds, pumpkin seeds and dried blueberries.
Everything was delicious and especially the almond butter as not many places have this option.

Great for lunch as well as desserts

Since my last visit, so much has changed.
Soupreme isn't here and if I could go back in time I would visit MEDIEVAL WEAPON CAFE which had all the Medieval armory and stuff if you google it.
As it was raining cats and dog, went here as it was quiet.

It was good that they offered lunch because I was super hungry as the chicken I wanted at a different shop was sold out.

When the vermicelli came, it looked damn delicious as the product shot wasn't that convincing and it didn't show the soup and dessert.

It was minced pork with pumpkin.

The only complaint was that it was a little too salty but otherwise it was heaven as they used fresh pork as well.
Coconut pudding:

For dessert, they had proper Taiwanese desserts but I chose the melon based ones to be on the healthy side.
Both were great.

Canteloupe melon over grass jelly:

Will be back if I am i the area.

[Review 7666] Caviar Dinner for HKD250 @ Crazy King Restaurant and Bar

Caviar Dinner for HKD250

I love caviar so tried the caviar themed dinner for HKD250.
Located in Taikoktsui, is it manned by a chef who has appeared on TVB and served numerous celebrities.
The caviar served here has been specially selected for Crazy King which is labelled on the lid.

Started with the platter which visually looked good.
From right to left was seared tuna topped with caviar, 63 degree egg topped with caviar and red prawn carpaccio on top of potato salad.
Started with seared tuna which was complimented nicely with the saltiness of the caviar.
Next was the red prawn carpaccio which was my favourite of the three as you could taste the briny saltiness of the sea.
The 63 egg was fab because of the runny yolk but it was quite filling.

The next course was Sweetcorn soup.
It was creamy with roasted sweetcorn pieces in it.
The final course was a delight as they use Calvisius Lingotto Caviar which is dried caviar that was grated on to the pasta.
I found the pasta a bit too creamy so it overpowered the grated caviar but overall good.
Looking forward to their new menu as they are going to change it soon.

Freshly made taro balls

A while ago I saw some pictures of the desserts here so made a mental note to visit.

I was finally in the area so went in for desserts.
The taro balls are a must try as they are all made in house.
I ordered the taro mania because it had taro sauce.
At the bottom, it is herbal jelly which is topped with taro sauce and the trio balls.
There are four colours which correspond to taro, purple potato, sweet potato

The taro balls were soft and chewy complemented by the girly lilac sauce.
The only thing that let it down was the grass jelly which came from the can and you can taste too.

[Review 7627] 8oz rib eye for HKD88 @ La Vigne

Although Tai Kok Tsui is a bit off the radar, there are lots of interesting things to try.
I was in the area obviously for dessert so was going to go to PRESS ENTER for lunch but it turns out that it is now La Vigne so went in anyway.
Lunches are around HKD68 -88 including a drink.
The decor is much the same.
Friend had the steak which was big and took up most of the plate.
It was covered with black pepper sauce.
Definitely a good portion size and value for HKD88.

As I love dill, I ordered the salmon and dill pasta with tea.
It was nice how they presented the sugar in a test tube.
The pasta was al dente and each strand was evenly flavoured.
It would be good if the dill was stronger but it was good enough and the chunks of salmon were tender and tasty.

Will be coming back to Taikoktsui again for more food.

[Review 7556] Star studded noodle joint @

This noodle joint is opened by former actor John Tang whose buddy is Louis Koo hence this shop was in the news recently when Louis Koo made a visit.
Obviously they serve cart noodles but they also have premium options such as abalone, fish maw and Japanese Oysters.
I was tempted by the oyster curry but in the end I decided to try the noodles because it was  good combination of oysters and Shiitake mushrooms.
Other items on the menu:

The oysters and shiitake mushroom noodles were a good combination which gave the noodles a nice flavour.
It would be great if they had efu noodles as a noodle options.
Anyway, oysters are delicious but eat at your own risk.
My friend was not affected but I was vomiting and shatting the next day.
Also had the house special which includes scallops and fish maw but as the scallops were sold out they were replaced with trotters.

Overall good but some of the ingredients could have been softer like the fish maw and beef tendons.
The fish balls were a bit cold.
Finished with lime soda.
There is another branch in YMT which I might visit since they serve egg waffles.
