Ever since my first visit, I have been addicted to the food here, not only do they serve Nepalese food, they also serve curries and pizzas.
They also have my favourite tortellini and gnocchi.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Greek salad:
I really liked this greek salad because it had crispy and sweet baby gem lettuce leaves and the sauce that they used was really appetizing.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Butter chicken curry:
I tried this twice and on my first visit it was perfect, on my second visit, there was a strong coconut taste.
On the perfect visit, the chicken and curry sauce was delicious, especially the tender chicken pieces.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Salad in pita bread with fries:
This was amazing, it reminded me of the food I had at PFC in London.
The pita bread was filled with fresh crisp leaves that were drained after it was washed and there was delicious mayonnaise in the pita bread to complement it.
The fries were perfect too, they were fried just right.
The side of salsa was really spicy but tastes delicious.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Chatamari - allow one day for preparation:
THIS WAS OBLIVION! but you need to order it one day in advance which is super annoying because you have to plan ahead.
It is a Nepalese pizza from Kathmandu and the base is made of rice and lentils.
The base was crispy and delicious and you can taste the toasted rice at the base topped with delicious grounded paste.
The taste of this pizza was exactly like Christmas stuffing and the egg on top was great especially the yolk because it was not starchy nor was it runny, the texture was a bit like buffalo cheese.
There was a side of sauce which is really spicy but after adding it, the taste was complete.

[Review 2116] Momo dumplings @ 2star's Fast Food Center
30/11/2012

Shop 2G, G/F, 9 Cross Road, Galway Court, Wan Chai

Since my last visit there were quite a few new items such as baguettes, salads and roast chicken which I shall try next time because I came back for the dumplings.
The dumplings were freshly made to order so you have WAIT for them to be made and cooked!
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Chicken dumplings:
The dumpling skin was too thick this time and the onions tasted strange.
The filling was slightly too oily but the chili sauce that comes with it balances out all that and makes it delicious.
It is similar to a Chinese dumpling but tastes better because they use chicken instead of pork.

[Review 1591] Chicken mo mo is the star @ 2star's Fast Food Center

Food was great on my first visit so decided to go again.
Went two times after my first visit, one was takeaway and the other was dine in.
For takeaway it takes ages so I dined there the third time because it was quicker.
Ordered my favourite chicken thukpa noodles, chicken mo mo and chicken tandoori leg set
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
chicken thukpa
The noodles were different from my first visit and there was less mustard greens in the soup so it was not so bitter.
I am not sure which noodles are more authentic but I preferred the noodles and soup on my first visit.
The noodles this time was foamy and had an alkaline taste.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
chicken mo mo
On my first visit I tried the pork mo mo but this time I tried the chicken mo mo.
I preferred the chicken because all the Chinese dumplings are made with pork.
There was lots of purple onions inside and their chili sauce made it delicious.
I do not know what is in that chili sauce but it tastes like the chili sauce in UK's Perfect fried Chicken shop owned by Asians there.
I tried to draw a star in the middle of the plate using the sauce but as it was too watery it failed and I only managed to get a blob with a slight star resemblance.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
chicken tandoori leg set
The set comes with soup, rice, spiced courgettes and a side of Shanghai greens.
The chicken was tender and full of spices, it tasted as good as the one at Pakora
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Lentil soup
The soup is always good there and full of spices.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Next time I will just order the chicken mo mo and the tandoori leg set again.

[Review 1552] Super star Nepalese Mo Mo, Thukpa and Chaumin @ 2star's Fast Food Center

https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/super-star-nepalese-mo-mo-thukpa-and-chaumin-e2232949
I have never tried Nepalese food but there is one in Central which is up the hill and there is another one there by in Wan Chai however that shop does not look so welcoming.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++
2star's stood out behinds the stalls and its red colour design reminded me of Pakora that used to be located in Causeway Bay which also had the delicious Tandoori Chicken leg.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Apart from Nepalese food there was also Philipino style fried fish and Indian dishes, but as I haven't tried Nepalese food I ordered the Nepalese dumplings, soup noodles, and fried noodles and an Indian curry.
The only disadvantage is that there is no air conditioning, so it is a real torture in the summer.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Nepalese dumplings:
In Nepalese they are called Mo Mo and there are two shapes in Nepal, one that looks the same as Shanghai dumplings and the other looks like steamed Potstickers.
The ones that were served here looked like Potstickers.
There were three different MoMo's: Chicken, pork or Vegetarian and I chose the Pork.
Inside the MoMo it was quite similar to the Chinese ones except that they have purple onions inside and not chives.
The purple onions gave it a really nice flavour.
These dumplings are served with soy sauce and spicy sauce (corner of the picture) which is watery and made of pureed chilis and other spices which is extremely hot!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Chicken soup noodles:
As I have not tried Nepalese noodles before I did not know what they would look like but they really surprised me.
The noodles are similar to the Chinese thick noodles which become soft when they absorb the broth.
Although the noodles look simple, it was delicious. It was plain chicken broth with generous chopped mustard greens, coriander and purple onions and some chicken.
The mustard greens had this lovely bitterness that made the soup bitter and I really liked it.
Anyway the presentation of these noodles look like those noodles served in Mun Nam but the soup here is not so thick.
I really loved it because there was lots of finely chopped mustard greens and the strong taste of the mustard green in the soup.
In Nepalese it is called Thukpa
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Stir fried noodles
The noodles here were the same type as above but stir-fried and it looked and tasted like the Chinese style.
In Nepalese it is called Chaumin.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Indian lamb curry
Apart from lamb curry there was also other vegetables that were nice and the soup was really nice.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Soup
The soup was wholesome and there were some spices and pulses.
