Again, fell for Tallore again when I was not intending to get anything.I fell for it because they had the Mexican potato taco salad.
It is an interesting flavour especially if you like Mexican food and potatoes.
Same with all the spicy salads, they can get very spicy but there were sweet potatoes in the box to sooth the spiciness.
The broccoli was laced with lots of herbs which made it very tasty.
Overall I was quite stuffed as this was just a small box and it was huge!!!!!!
Glad Tallore is doing well.

Went past and saw this interesting prawn and melon soup so decided to try it.
It turns out that it was wintermelon and not melon as written on the label.
Anyway, it tasted quite nice because it was light but the ginger was a bit strong and overpowered the wintermelon and prawns.

Went here again for my fave chili con carne.
The portion was huge as usual.
This time it was spicy but the the carrots were a bit chunky and the tomato taste was not strong enough.

They had Avgolemono soup that day so I had to try it because I have never tried Avgolemono before.
Avgolemono is Greek and made with egg and lemon juice mixed with broth.
It has rice, orzo, pastina, or tapioca in the soup which makes it thick like congee.

Avogolemono soup:

It tasted like Chinese congee but nicer because there was blended chicken meat it in and it was light but thick in texture.
It was wholesome and warming with bits of rice in it and much better than congee because it is not oily.

Went back to Tallore again for dinner because I had a big hunger craving.
This time I had the chili con carne with rice, hummous with some baguette slices.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
chili con carne:
The chili con carne at this place is not spicy but they have spices for you to add.
It was rich with lots of lean minced beef and diced carrots.
When you eat it, you can tell the beef is good because it doesn’t give you chewing troubles because low grade beef has these chewy fatty elastic bits!!
Normally they give you mixed grain rice but I asked for the salad rice.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
hummous with baguette slices:
Compared to other hummous the colour is slightly green and the lemon taste isn’t strong but it was wonderful with bread.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
OR TEA:
As a tea lover, I am tempted to try these teas because the design is nice and at the back the plastic is clear so you can see inside.

I have always wanted to try the chicken tortellini soup but the last time it was on the menu, it was sold out at 1:40pm and the guy forgot to save me some even though I ordered it on the phone~!!!!!!

This time they had it but it was a scorching hot day to have hot soup.
Not the ideal day for soup but tortellini is not always on the menu.

While I was sitting there, it was funny how these old local men would stop and look and me then the shop!
It seems that they have never noticed this shop before and its not the first time I have sat there eating and they just look at me dining there mesmerized! (what the hell is wrong with u guys).

Finally a local young lad came in after looking at the menu for a while.
I was expecting him to choose salad on a hot day but he chose soup!!!!
The smell of their chili con carne is so tempting but then the salads and soups are also tempting!!

As expected it was healthy and loaded with vegetables, it was a clear soup with delicious pieces of tortellini it.
I burnt my tongue again drinking soup as I always do because its hard to wait for it to cool down!

Curry Veggie Quinoa & Chickpea Salad:

As well as soup, I tried the curry quinoa, which had a lovely bits of chickpeas in it, but I wish the curry flavouring was stronger.

Kale & Cabbage Slaw with Caraway Ranch Dressing:

Then I had the colourful cabbage slaw which had a light but tasty dressing that was not too heavy.

I have been meaning to try the chili con carne but everytime there is a new soup or new salad I have to try~~
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
chili con carne:

The reason I love this Chili con carne so much is that it is made with lean beef which does not have these fatty bits and stringy chewy bits.
As well as the beef, the chili con carne sauce was delicious, it is not that spicy but the flavour is there and goes with the fluffy warm rice beneath it.
The portion is a bit big though coming from someone with a big appetite like me.

[Review 3647] Tallore is a food galore for my stomach @ Tallore

I come here really often because there will are new salads and soups every two to three days.

The food here is healthy and basically staple food for expats and Westerners.

Everyday, the menu is updated on Facebook so it becomes a habit to check.

Here are all the great salads and soups I have had!!!
As I write, a new African soup has just popped up on the menu.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
New Potato Salad with Grilled Cumberland Sausage & Caramelized Onions:

The potato salad was a surprise because I found sweet potatoes in it which added colour and taste making it different from the usual potato salad.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Belgian biscuits:
belgians dip these into their coffees but as a Brit I prefer dunking them into tea.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Couscous with Roasted Pine Nuts & Potato Bits Veggie Mix:

(right on the photo)
I love this so much, soft and tasty cous cous with delicious bits of potato and nutty pine nuts.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Spinach lemon soup:

This was one of my favourite soups and it does not contain any cream.
A combination of my favourite spinach and lemon, the hints of lemon was certainly appetizing without being too sour.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Mediterranean Pasta Salad with Cranberries:

I love bowtie pasta and it was dressed with dressing that was not too oily and the cranberries were not too sweet with a lovely chewy texture.
There were also delicious olives, cherry tomatos, cucumber and feta cheese which all gave it a gorgeous Mediterranean taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Belgian Endives Salad with Pears, Blue Cheese & Walnuts:

(Left on the photo)
This was another great one for annoying hot days, it had proper pears and crisp endives flavoured by the strong tasting blue cheese and gorgeous walnuts.
I was elated eating this because these pears are European ones with a soft texture that is not cloyingly sweet like Asian pears.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Curry Chicken with Wild Rice Mix & Mango Salad:

I found the rice too spicy and a bit too hard but this has improved.
But as a carb lover, I truly liked it because it was fruity with bits of apples, mangoes onions and lettuce.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Kale, Tomato & Mushrooms with White Beans Soup back:

This soup was nourishing as well as delicious because it had a rich plum tomato taste which tasted like canned plum tomatoes and it was loaded with kale and protein rich beans such as chickpeas and there were mushrooms in it as well.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Shrimp Soba Noodle Salad:

This was soba noodles tossed in Sesame Peanut Dressing that is not cloying sweet as the Asian peanut sauce.
Tossed with the noodles were delicious grassy pea sprouts, juicy sweet crisp julienne bell peppers, purple onions, cucumbers and prawns.
