Super super congee obviously serves congee and noodles which can be boring for some if it is not your cup of tea.
Recently they had Kaya toast 加央多 so I had to try it.
I didn't have any expectations for the toasts because toast is always Hong Kong style toast so what can you expect.
The kaya paste was the star of the show because it is fragrant and sweet.
So overall, it was good that they had something different for once.
Obviously, you can't get it a la carte so it comes with the regular stuff which you can send it to the trash or give it to someone!

I don't know if the custard mooncake is new but tried it as I have never tried a custard mooncake by WW.

It had a pleasant smell with lots of vibrant yellow oil coming off it.

Microwaved it for 30 seconds prior eating.
The taste was pretty good as the custard was strong but a bit too sweet.
The thing that let it down was the filling as it was not runny!!

The shopping mall at Lokfu is getting revamped again.
I wished they hadn't touched because this is the second time it is getting revamped which means the first time wasn't good enough.
It is such a nuisance for the elderly especially people with dementia.
Evidently Ocean Fresh is successful as local TVB Celeb William Chak was there that night!
I love my fish so we had fish, a side dish and dessert.
The fish was just steamed with soy sauce topped with spring onions.
The oil they used was fresh so it didn't ruin the fish.

The pork in red beancurd sauce with lotus root slices was quite salty.
 The pan fried buns were a little different without the spring onions.
Finished with the sweet purple potato pudding.
The dessert is worth trying if you like purple potatoes as it contains real purple potatoes mixed into it.

Every now and then, Shanghai Lao Lao will have Sichuan dishes on the menu.
Tried their Sichuan delights a while ago so when I found out they were doing it again I was back for it because the crispy chicken is really good.
This time, the Sichuan delights are a bit different.

Noodles with boneless chicken in spicy Sichuan Sauce (served with sesame and peanut soup)
The noodles can be eaten in two ways.

If you eat the noodles on their own, they can be very spicy but if you put them in the peanut and sesame soup it becomes dandan noodle with a hint of spiciness.

Next were the Eight treasures in hot sauce.
It was eight items cooked together hence the eight treasures were chicken, chicken kidney, pork belly, dried beancurd, mushroom, green soybeans, shrimp and bamboo shoots.
Strangely I didn't find it spicy at all but it went well with plain rice.

The last in the spicy series was the chili chicken in Geleshan style according to the menu.
Each piece of chicken was crispy and delicious with spiciness to the max and a numbing aftertaste that was addictive.

Finished with the beansheets in sesame sauce which is a signature here.



For drinks, the wintermelon brown sugar drink is highly recommended because it has chunks of wintermelon in it and the drink has a prominent wintermelon taste.

I am not really a fan of congee so only tried because of the fried chicken.
Unfortunately, you can never order any items a la carte so it had to come with thick noodles.
The noodles were too salty with a strong alkaline taste so stir fried noodles would probably be a better option.
The star of the show chicken was dry and woody.

As I had some ham and cheese, decided to get some croissants to go with it.
At Yamazaki, they had these mini croissants so got a few to try.
They were a bit dry and hard so after reheating them for it a bit they were crunchy all over.
The taste was ok but the margerine/butter they had used has gone off a little bit.

Originally intended to go to Shanghai Lao Lao at Lokfu but it was closed so went here as it was the nearest branch.They had some attractive festive dishes so decided to try them all.

They were very affordable so we shared this between the four of  us.

The pumpkin soup was loaded with chicken, prawns, quail egg, egg dumplings, sea cucumber etc.

My favourite was the poached fish with pickled vegetables which went deliciously with rice.

Just for the instaworthy factor, we had the shanghai dumplings which were pink in colour.
There was a scallop inside each dumpling.

I was already full but there was glutinous rice dessert laced with osmantus flowers and sweet sauce.
Overall I was quite stuffed and it didn't cost us a bomb!

After the successful Rabbit coconut mousse launched for Autumn Fest last year.
McCafe has a golden piggy for Chinese New Year 2019.
Unfortunately it is mango flavoured because Hong Kongers just love Mango.

The texture was soft because it was mango mousse, in the middle there was some mango sauce and cake in the middle but not much.
It was quite sweet with a strong artificial mango flavouring.

I was surprised to discover that PC had a series of beetroot drinks!!!!
There was beetroot lemonade, yuzu beetroot and blueberry beetroot.
Tried the beetroot lemonade as it was hard imagining how the other two would taste.

I suppose you could taste the beetroot but the lemon didn't really come through.

Towards the end it strangely tasted like Ribena with some bitterness because of the lemon peel.

The lemon and bitterness got stronger but luckily there was the syrup at the bottom to balance it out.

The food served at this restaurant was the usual stuff so I haven't bothered to post the pictures.

The dessert was an eye turner when it was placed on the table.

The appearance was neither Chinese or Western.\

It turned out to be chewy mochi like cubes coated in crispy eggroll flakes.

The taste was quite nice too because it wasn't too sweet but there wasn't any particular flavour to it but a gentle hint of coconut.

It must have been nice or it got the guests curious because they were gone in a flash.

Previously dined here during the weekends and public holidays when they are busy and rushed.

The food quality on the weekdays is better.

Ordering a la carte is advised because the set meals are not worth it.

The okra dish had a strong black bean taste but the okra was not tender.

The fish was silky but somehow it tasted like petrol.

The green tea layered cake didn't taste of green tea but it had a strong coconut taste.

It was slightly oily.

The portion for the Peking duck was surprisingly big because you get at least 20 pancakes, two plates of duck meat but the duck meat was a bit dry for my liking.

The pancakes were a little bit different because it contained sesame.
