The drinks are quite good at Heeretea so I have been to quite a few different branches

.So far, this is the worst branch, the staff seem disinterested in serving customers.
I was practically at the counter but the guy was just ignoring me until I spoke.
Luckily my melon cheese drink still tasted as good as the other branches,
There was a natural melon taste that was finely blended with the icy slush and the cheese cap on top gave it a smooth finish.
Will definitely come back for other drinks but I will go to a different branch.

[Review 455] Night market at Park n Shop @ 士林夜市 (將軍澳)

After trying the other foods in this place, decided to try this Taiwanese joint too, I did not expect it to taste as good as the other notorious ones such as Ar To.
Ordered the beef noodles and white carrot cake.

The white carrot cake was a big slab!! It was not cut and packaged like that. There was not much ingredients such as pork or shrimp in it. It was slightly greasy and had a strong oil odour.
The noodles were ok, the soup base was ok, contained lots carrot, beef etc.

[Review 302] Tofu @ 阿土麵線

When this place opened in Wanchai, they only served the Taiwanese noodles, probably not attracting as many customers as it should.
Wanchai is a town packed with offices, and its location is not really a place for people to stop by to have a piping hot snack.

At lunch, for convenience sake, people will just go out to eat or buy a filling lunchbox and rush back to their offices, for money sake, I think they would rather have one filling item, than buy several things to fill them up. Also around $2x the typical HK person could get a lunch with that.

So the new snacks, could be an option for lunch, as they now serve rices.

However the snack I tried today was brine tofu in loshui sauce.
The tofu is a firm yet smooth, the one that is immersed in brine.
The presentation was good too, plenty of sauce, spring onions and grated carrots (red ones).
If there was an extra bowl or another paper bowl to support the plastic bowl, it would have been better, the dish was too hot for my sensitive hands. Although the tofu was firm, I would have preferred a fork.
Each portion is an individual block of tofu served as a portion, which is better than the ones in the shop where they can give you corners and edges.
The tofu is fully flavoured and soaked right to the middle in the loshui sauce.

[Review 241] Chicken fries @ 大雞大超級雞排 Big Big Chick

Ask any Australian, and they will be able to tell you about Chicken fries. In Australia, they put chicken powder on their chips.

So when I came across this Taiwanese snack shop, I had to check it out, although they claim to be the world's first chicken fries, actually it originates from Australia, and the Taiwanese have imported the idea to their country, and later opening stores in Hong Kong. I wanted to try them along time ago, but the first shop was located in Yuen Long which is a bit out of bounds. Now there are quite a few shops in the outskirts of town.

Its bright yellow and fast food smell drew me over, to a glass cabinet filled with fried foods, the staff busy packing the food and sprinkling flavoured powder all over the chicken.

Anyway I ordered the fried chicken breast, fried thigh pieces, fries, and chicken wings.

Most of the items were over fried, and a strong taste of re-used oil. So overall, I would only recommend the chicken thigh, and chicken wings. I asked about the ingredients of the powder, but I felt the staff were either in a hurry or not willing to answer.
All I got for an answer was " It's our own recipe, thank you, BYE"
The taste of the powder had some Chinese spice, which I do not know the name, slightly sweet too.
I was a bit disappointed with the fries, because they were ordinary crinkled chips, not the quality ones.

The only credit I would give them, is that they have an English version of the menu~!

[Review 3] Wide Vegetarian Choice @ QQ Rice 西龍傳香飯糰

Date Published on Openrice: 06/02/2006

I was attracted to this fast food shop by its design, promoting healthy food.

Usually I do not eat glutinous rice or rice with fried dough inside, however I thought this one was rather special, as you get to choose different rices, and as a standard you can choose 6 different fillings, which is quite a lot since you normally would probably get to choose 3 or 4. The food is also displayed in front of you, so you can see what there is to choose.

First of all I chose the Ice lake wild rice, and it was really hard to choose the fillings, because the choice was amazing. I really liked the Vegetarian variety, as there were a lot of choices. I ended choosing: Crisp Caraway, Crispy Vegetarian Meat, Black Pepper Mushroom, Emperor Vegetable, and with two more choice left I chose Tuna and Crisp Shrimp Bran.

It tasted very nice, the Ice Lake wild rice was very fragrant, and the filling was as nice as imagined.

On other visits I also tried the Honey and Rice drink, which was very nice, not too sweet but keeping the flavour and the smell of the rice. As well as the Honey drink, I have also tried five rice drink, which was also nice, but it was a little bit creamy and viscous, but quite distinctive in taste since I haven’t seen this drink anywhere.

As for dessert I have tried the Milk Pudding, Five rice milk pudding. The Five rice milk pudding is basically the same as the Milk pudding, except there is an extra layer of rice beneath it. I enjoyed this dessert as they were not too sweet, and had a gentle flavour to it.
