After trying their pandan cake at a recent promotional stall at Hollywood plaza, I really wanted to try their donuts, but the nearest branch was MK or the Kwai Fong side of town.
Since my friend lives in the KF area I was able to get her to get me some.
She got me a pack of three for $15.

These donuts were non fried which is healthier compared to the fried ones, however the icing was a bit too much.
The chocolate one tastes the best and the donut was soft and grease free.
The lilac one tasted a bit artificial.

[Review 166] Take away 1 - Summer donuts @ Krispy Kreme

15/08/2008

Got some takeaway donuts from Krispy Kreme, tried 3 of their new flavours out of the 6 choices of lime, mango, melon, pineapple, blueberry and cranberry.

Cranberry:
This was my favourite, since cranberry was sprinkled evenly over the icing, giving it some chew to the donut.

Blueberry:
Not bad, tasted of blueberries too.

Pineapple:
This was my least favorite, since the pineapple flavor was a bit artificial, if it had a little sourness in it, it would mimic the real pineapple taste. Also there was only one piece of the pineapple in the donut, not as good as the cranberry, because that was sprinkled all over.

[Review 48] Wicked new flavours!! Yay!! @ Krispy Kreme

Date reviewed on openrice: 07/01/2007

So cool, I just tried the Coconut Kaya donut and the strawberry shortcake.

The coconut kaya donut is quite nice, sticky kaya jam at the top with sprinkled coconut. This donut is the ringed shaped one. Actually u can say it tastes like the chinese 'chicken tail bread' but it tastes btr.

As for the strawberry shortcake, its a bit similar to the NY cheesecake, except the cream inside is nice and fluffy with some strawberry jam and nice topping.

[Review 45] New York cheesecake donut @ Krispy Kreme

Date reviewed on openrice: 25/08/2006

It took a while to find this place, but I eventually found it, which turns out to be located in a convenient area.
I was greeted with a long queue, flowing from the entrance, but I still queued.
I finally got to the counter, and a wide selection of donuts were displayed in the glass cabinet. I was given an original to try, which tasted quite sweet, but a little oily.
I ended buying chocolate with custard, caramel crunch, and new york cheesecake. All went nicely with tea. I personally think the price of the donut is reasonable, but the drinks are slightly overpriced, but I think most people will buy a drink due to the sweetness.
I recommend the NY cheesecake for the Chinese if they do not like over sweet foods. In general American style is this sweet, so we just have to accept it!!!
Same with the Chinese culture, they like to put a lot of sugar, oil in their cooking too!!!!!
