Came here after Easter so it was nice and quiet, previously this place used to be a Sichuan Joint.
Lots of restaurants were closed and taking a break from the busy Easter.
Went here because this place had a lot to offer in terms of latte, food and dessert.

There so many lattes to choose from such as beetroot latte, Japanese tea lattes and even turmeric latte.
Then for food, the pork burger was captivating as it is complimented with Japanese pickles which give it a lovely colour contrast as well as taste.
Unfortunately I didn't leave room for dessert otherwise they had some fancy pancakes made with Hojicha or Genmaicha topped with iceream and Japanese dango.

For food, ordered the ginger pork burger, Vegetarian Breakfast and the popcorn chicken with Turmeric Latte, Iced Strawberry shaken tea and Hojicha latte.

Started with the Ginger Pork Burger which was photogenic as well as tasty.
It is different in the sense that they used pink pickled ginger which is tangy and makes the pork appetizing.
As well as ginger there were some julienne cabbage that gave it a nice crunch and the best thing is that the pork was fresh and springy.

You can have it with fries for an extra HKD15 more but we had the popcorn chicken and vegetarian breakfast as well.

I chose the vegetarian breakfast because you get kale, hummus and guacamole as well as sour dough toast.
The thing that made it memorable was their house baked beans which are a mix of the usual beans and chickpeas in a tomato sauce with a twist and that is the THYME herbs according to their staff.
Everything on the plate was delicious especially the beans and sourdough toast.
The salad had a good variety from kale, yellow cherry tomatoes,  red radish and fennel so it wasn't just boring local vegetables.
I believe their hummus is homemade as well.
As there was quite a bit of salad, we had the popcorn chicken with it which was perfectly fried with a spicy coating.
For drinks, my picks were the Turmeric and Hojicha latte.
The turmeric latte at this place was really gentle and they added cinnamon to it which gave it a lovely winter mood which a good sweetness.

If you like teas then Hojicha is recommended.


For cold drinks had the Iced shaken Strawberry tea.

Will definitely be back for the pancakes next time.

Found out that one of my favourite chefs KWS was running this place so had to check it out.The location is really good because it in on the first floor and the restaurant itself is spacious and modern.

The menu is has a few items that are the same as Mustard Cafe and Bar because they are part of the same group.
Started with a glass of Silver Fern wine which was recommended to go with the Spanish Red Prawn.
The Spanish Red Prawn is natrually flavourful so all they put on it was sake and sesame oil and then blistered it with a huge flame torch which reminded me of ghost busters!!
The crispy rice puffs are decorative as well as functional because it absorbs the prawn head matter so that you can appreciate every bit of the prawn.
Next was my favourite creamy burrata with refreshing heirloom tomatoes, the portion size was satisfying.

Finished with ravioli and I loved it.
Each one with filled with springy prawns topped with fennel foam complimented by rich uni cream.
Will come again and visit my fave chef again!

Dined here because a friend said he would be in the kitchen.
I don't know how long he has been cooking but Kits dishes were quite good.

The set dinner had a sweet theme to it, all the courses had some dessert element in it.
For appetizers had the Black Truffle Scallop Eclair and  Fried Foie Gras with Mashed Apple Sauce with Fig.

The sweet scallops were topped on a light puffy eclair complimented by the fresh cucumbers and truffle.

Although I am bored of foie gras, this one was well executed because the texture wasn't oily paired nicely with he dried apple slice and fig sauce.

Lobster and Tomato Soup:
The tomato soup was a surprise because it was tomato consomme which tasted like tomato essence so I really liked it.

For mains, had the duck and Lobster.
The presentation of the Sous vide French Duck Breast was really colourful.

My Lobster Thermidor and Lobster Souffle was fun.
The lobster souffle was a fluffy savoury souffle with lobster pieces at the bottom.

Finished with the Daily Dessert Platter (+80) which includes their light creme brulee cheesecake and double chocolate cake.

Tried this new joint and I don't think it is fair to comment because the night I visited the main chef was sick so the chef who cooked that night was new or a replacement.
I couldn't quite hear what they said but anyway, I gathered someone wasn't there because they were sick.
The menu was good because there was English.

Started with the iceplant salad which comes with sesame dressing but I didn't bother with the dressing because it tasted good on its own.

The tofu was a bit too salty for my liking.


The noodles were great with a nice balanced seasoning.

The bandit chicken wings were ok but a bit salty.

My favourite was the cumin pork legs which came off the bone easily and it had a crispy coating as well.

Anyway, save room for dessert because I liked the clear jelly which is flavoured by the ginger syrup that is not too sweet, topped with raisins, wolfberries and hawthorn discs.
If you don't like ginger, then tough luck as the other dessert also has ginger.

Stopped by for this seafood Savory Napolean.
I wasn't sure how it was going to taste because Napoleans are always sweet.

The taste was quite nice because the seafood sauce was rich and it was loaded with lots of seafood.
There was a soft shell crab on the side as well and some bread to dip the sauce.
Although the crisp layers tasted sweet, it didn't annoy me that much because the buttery aroma wasn't overwhelming.

Went here to try some steaks because they seem famous for it seeing a friend went there three times in a week! :0

We had the set for two which is enough for three because the starters are quite big as well as the soups.

Started with this crispy round bun which was buttered with garlic butter.

Caesar salad:

The salad was quite decent in portion which is good because restaurants are stingy with salads and vegetables.

It was creamy with a tart caesar dressing with bacon bits.

Crab cake:

As you can see it was huge and loaded with silky crab meat.

Mushroom soup:

It was a very creamy earthy mushroom soup.

Lobster soup:

The lobster soup tasted really concentrated but in a good way because it tasted like a whole lobster concentrated in one spoon with bits of lobster in it.

We upgraded our steak to the USDA Prime Grade New York strip loin which was cooked to medium rare where it was juicy, meaty and flavourful complimented deliciously with their mustard and salt.

For the sauces, I chose the pepper gravy which had a really fragrant fiery pepper taste.

Found out about this new fried chicken joint from a friend and not openrice's new restaurant directory.

I don't use the new restaurants list anymore because it only shows new restaurants with ratings so I can't truly find the new ones which is resulting in a vicious circle of rigged comments for new restaurants.

Anyway, tried it for late lunch.

Ordered half original chicken and half spring onion chicken.

Tried the original first which had a perfectly crispy coating and wafer thin  skin with juicy chicken beneath it.

The spring onion one was even better because it had a nice sweet glaze that was not too sweet making it really appetizing.

I was tempted to try the spicy one but it looked quite spicy.

For drinks, I finished with the cooler which was a sweet concoction of mint, cucumber, soda and orange juice.

I was in the area and got trapped because of the Tai Hang fire dragon dance so went here for dinner.

They serve a three course or four course set with hand dripped coffee or tea.
I settled for the three course and here was what I had:
Pan seared tuna and tuna tartar with yuzu dressing.
An interesting contrast of tuna done in two ways.
French Onion soup:
The soup had a lovely strong natrual sweet onion taste and the amount of onions in it was unbelievable.
Salmon Confit with white wine sauce:
I am not quite sure why it was called confit because it was slow cooked salmon.
To be honest if they didn't tell me it was slow cooked I wouldn't have ordered it.
The salmon was fantastic because it was soft and silky with a texture that was like jelly.
I was pretty satisfied with the three course but my friend had the dessert as the fourth course which was creme brulee cheesecake and vanilla icecream.
