A lot has changed at Tai Koo, the food court on the third floor has gone and TREATS is here.
At TREATS, there are currently 9 joints:
Umai Umai, Mimidi, Minh and Kok, Hong Kong Day, Hong Kong Rotisserie, Pasta La Vista, Cha Cha Room, Thai Cook and Bake It Up.
There is something for everyone ranging from Japanese, Thai, Pasta to the bakery.
Clearly the roast pork and egg rice is a winner from Hong Kong Rotisserie.

Great place for chicken pot

It's been a while since I have last had chicken pot.
Chicken pot was a trend a while ago before the Korean Grills.
Located in Taikoktsui is Winner Winner Chicken which is based on the video game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (called sikgaai in Cantonese).
Inside you will find Chicken themed artwork modified from War movies posters.
I was captivated here because it is all you can eat from the menu, vegetables and they have different chicken pots like Turmeric Chicken, Cheesy Chicken etc.
There is English on the menu as well.
At the far back, there is all you can drink drinks, vegetables, tea section and grass jelly dessert.
Started with some refreshing pickles:

I was so upset that the Turmeric one wasn't available so chose the herbal one instead which turned out quite good.
I was expecting the tofu puffs to be oily after soaking the chicken oil but there was not much oil so the tofu puffs tasted good.
The chicken was tender and springy as we took it out as soon as they were ready to eat to avoid it getting overcooked in the pot.
After we finished the chicken, the soup was added and it became the usual hotpot.
The pork and beef slices were fresh.
On the menu, there were some interesting sides like beer sausage.
Finished with the grass jelly dessert.
Will definitely come back to try their other pots or hope they have something new.

Taikoo is a rather depressing place for food but luckily there are now two branches of Hana Musubi at Tai Koo.
One at the MTR station which opened a few years ago and this new one.
Spotted the new shop as it was right opposite the tram station when I passed by a few weeks ago.
Had the Crab Paste musubi which is one of the new JUNE flavours.
I thought the pairing of mayonnaise and crab paste was strange because mayonnaise is creamy while crab paste is strong.
Luckily, the crab paste was prominent and the mayonnaise was light, otherwise it would be too sickly.
The colour of the crab paste filling wasn't as green/grey as anticipated.

There has been so many trends in Hong Kong and whatever has trended has been put in drinks, bakery etc.
The Butterfly pea flower has now been found in bread!!
Tried the butterfly pea blueberry cheese bread from Paper Stone Bakery.
The texture of this bread is very chewy and crammed with lots of blueberries and cheese on the first slice.
Overall, I was very pleased with the bread because it had a good texture and it wasn't sweetened.
The only sweetness came from the blueberries so it wasn't overly sweet.

M bento is everywhere now!!!
Only went there because friend wanted some drinks.
The cans were in Japanese so chose the green and the blue.
The blue one which looked alcoholic because of the word Sangria was not and just tasted like weird soda.
The green one was obviously matcha but it was still and didn't taste nice because it had a strong tin taste like thos ecans of drink from chine na.

Let's spill the beans!!!Where do people go these days??? The answer is looking for instaworthy places to check in, eat or have instaworthy food and drinks.
To my surprise and a smart decision, % Arabica has opened a new branch right in the centre of a instaworthy location where the crowd and tourists go!!!!!
% Arabica is a famous coffee shop where they have a shop at the Prestigious IFC so no one is going to escape this coffee joint when they check out Yick Fat Mansions.
This latest location is very different in the sense that they really stand out as the coffee joint is located in the shanty slums of Quarry Bay compared to their shop locations at IFC and the Star Ferry.
Nevertheless, their targets have remained unchanged, a group of people who enjoy life and coffee.
The menu is pretty much the same.
The room is split into two sides with mirrors on both walls.
For Drinks I had my favourite Matcha Latte and Lemonade.
The matcha latte was satisfying as it was smooth with a nice matcha taste without the grassiness.
I appreciate the fresh milk in it.
The lemonade was on the lighter side but it had a good fizz.
% Arabica is definitely a stopover place before or after taking pictures!!

Got the tea set because I like cream cakes, it came with matcha tea which I didn't like and it didn't even match the ccake.
The matcha tea was grassy overload which didn't compliment the cake.
To be honest it was a bad ending after having a relatively nice cake.
The strawberry cream cake was lovely as the layers of sponge were soft and fluffy complimented by the pureed strawberry pieces and whipped cream.

Second Shake Shack opens at Pacific Place!!

The game is on with Shake Shack and Five guys opening a few days after each other.
This is the second branch of Shake Shack in Hong Kong with its first in Central.
I was pleased with my first experience in Central so I didn't mind coming again to Admiralty as it is more accessible being close to the MTR exit.
The festive milkshakes weren't ready yet but I definitely have to come back for it.
On this visit, had the ShackBurger, SmokeShack and Shroom Burger.
The SmokeShack HKD66 really hit the spot as the bacon was crispy and the chopped cherry pepper was punchy and tangy which complimented the beef.
The ShackBurger is more basic but you get to appreciate the beef more.
The Shroom Burger is a another experience because you get a crispy mushroom oozing with decent cheese in the middle.
Will definitely be back for the milkshakes as I love hazelnut and the chocolate peppermint.

[Review 6862] Cute joint with affordable Modern dishes @ 茶米 Sun's Bazaar

https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/cute-joint-with-affordable-modern-dishes-e3167962
Discovered Sun's Bazaar as there was a long queue for tea.
It turns out that drinks were half priced so I queued to get one.
The fact that it was half priced meant that I could experiment with different things like adding the milk cap and two different pearls and it didn't cost a bomb.
The total was only $22!!!!
I am not a fan of pearls but the taro and Sichuan are unique.
The Sichuan ones really do contain pieces of Sichuan pepper that give the pearls a slight crunch as well spiciness and the taro pearls taste like the dessert mochi balls.
Returned a few days later to try the food as there were so many interesting dishes.
I assumed this was a Taiwanese joint as there was quite an emphasis on the KIKI brand.
However on the menu, you will find Hainan Chicken, Rice rolls and even congee.
The decor was young and cute.
Here was what we had:
The ricerolls are different as they are served scrunched up because they are made by pushing the sheet to one side.
I liked the one topped with oyster and there was one that came in beef soup that is interesting to try.
On the Hong Kong dish side, they had the popular crispy chow mein topped with vegetables in gravy.
I was surprised the congee was Cantonese style as I thought it was going to Taiwanese.
But anyway, it was comforting with chunks of chicken in it.
Next was the Sichuan Dan Dan noodles that star KIKI Noodles.
[A pack of KiKi noodles]
[Sichuan Dan Dan noodles]
The meat sauce and broth had a good spicy kick to it.
Moving on to a slight Modern Chinese claypot rice, it was Spanish Chorizo and spare ribs rice served kamameshi style.
Chorizo and rice were delicious together.
Last but not least was the Hainan Chicken, a secret recipe from Old Bazaar Kitchen which is why this restaurant is called Sun's Bazaar!!
