As I was in D2 decided to try this joint as I have already tried the others.
This joint is on the corner specializing in Japanese style food.

Had the beef bowl with rice which comes with miso soup.
The beef slices were tender and covered with a good amount of Teriyaki sauce with chunky onions beneath it.
Under that was the usual Japanese rice which was firm and not too soft.
The miso soup had a good saltiness to it so you might feel a bit thirsty afterwards.

As I was in the area decided to come back for the avocado milk drink. It is supposed to come with pearls but I requested them without because the pearls are annoying.

The drink was quite nice as it was blended with avocados so it was thick and creamy.
It was also quite icy as there was a lot of ice in it.

My Meat Run Laboratory is a new development of its sister restaurant My Meat Run Buddy in Taikoktsui.
While the taikoktsui serves vegetarian buffet, the new sister restaurant is a relaxed restaurant in D2 serving a good range of dishes on the menu.

The star of the show is IMPOSSIBLE MEAT because there are so many dishes that were not possible made possible.

Most restaurants you will just find IMPOSSIBLE burgers on the menu but here you can find sizzling Impossible steaks, Impossible clay pot dish etc.

I was truly impressed with the impossible steak as it is made with impossible meat mince done Hong Kong style hence it tastes how it should complimented with the gravy.

The next impossible dish was the claypot which was crumbled impossible meat mince steamed in a claypot.
It was simply delicious with soy sauce and if you want it totally vegan, you can skip the egg.

My next favourite dish was the bak kut teh which had a strong herbal and umami taste.

For fried chicken lovers, there was Korean style and Japanese style chicken.

Dessert finished with a sweet lemon cake.

They also serve my favourite BROTHERS Toffee Apple cider which is a must if you have a sweet tooth.

Will definitely coming back for more Impossible dishes!

For Autumn Pacific Coffee has come up with these captivating drinks made with oat milk hence it is suitable for vegetarians.

As well as oat milk, it contains William Pear and Pearl Barley.

There are two drinks:
-William Pearl Pearl Barley Oat Milk Chillano
-Iced Williams Pear Wheat Germ Oat Milk Latte

I would recommend the oat milk chillano in the blazing hot autumn that doesn't really get cold.
At the bottom are pearl barley pearls which were mind blowing at first as they are perfectly spherical.

After taking a closer look, it turns out that they are pearl barley seeds encapsulated in a gel skin and there is some flavouring in between the barley and gel so it tastes slightly sweet.

The Iced Williams Pear Wheat Germ Oat Milk Latte which I had hot was like your usual latte.

Lai Chi Kok is thriving and more restaurants are popping up.
It used to be grubby Chinese restaurants but look at the choice now on the Castle Peak side as well as the D2 side.
Went to Wai wai wai which is a young and hip cafe on the corner.
The menu had a good spread of Malaysian dishes and Taiwanese drinks.
Settled for the Hainan Chicken which came with lettuce.
The chicken was lean and firm complemented by the three usual sauces.

As well as the chicken, the rice was a winner as each grain of rice was fluffy and fragrant without being too oily.
For drinks, finished with the lemon aiyu and avocado milkshake.

Both were quite good especially the avocado milkshake which was thick and creamy.
If I do go again, I plain to try the Taiwanese sugar cane which intrigues me how Taiwanese  the sugarcane can be.

Since 2008!

It is amazing that this restaurant has been here since 2008.
I was around at that time but didn't venture to this end of LCK.
The decor and tables look new so if I didn't read the reviews I would have have thought this restaurant was quite new.

Anyway, it was lunch so had these weird Chinese sets that consist of a noodle with toast.
A strange combo but I was just interested in the noodles but it has to come with crap that I don't eat.
The fishmaw noodles were ok but the sauce was a bit sour because of the Chinese shitaake mushrooms.
There wasn't much gravy and to be precise it was just fishmaw plonked on to the noodles so the noodles were tasteless.

The other set we had:

Although it is difficult to see, it was entertaining to watch something crawl up one of the chairs.
Didn't zoom into it but it was funny as the person sitting on the chair was oblivious to what was going on.
Overall, just another option for lunch but don't expect good service.

[Review 7674] Mooncakes with a MOON @ 松谷烘焙食品有限公司 Choco Bakery Limited

All the celebrities were raving about this mooncake so I got a box too!
It contains a moon which is the captivating part!

A mooncake wouldn't be complete without a moon!
Inside the box are eight custard mooncakes with a runny centre.
To eat you have to reheat it in the microwave for a few seconds but in this hot weather I found the filling was runny without the need to even reheat it.

The filling was starchy and you could taste the bits of the egg yolk in it.
Overall, I was satisfied with these mooncakes and they were very memorable.

Tea is always my best friend!

Wandered into this mall after visiting some restaurants nearby.
At first I thought it was a bubble tea house from the neon logo.

There was much more to offer on the menu and they had tea blends in large test tubes.

As the menu was in Chinese, most of them didn't really mean anything so it was really helpful that the boss let me smell the teas so I could order the one I was looking for.
There was one I instantly remembered the smell of as I had it before at Citysuper.

Pineapple Soda:
The pineapple soda was simply reduced pineapple and soda without sweeteners which is why I ordered it.
At the bottom of the drink are pieces of fresh pineapple which they have cooked for a long time so that it gets reduced and reduced until you get concentrated pieces of pineapple with natrual sweetness.

As well as pineapple, there was some citrus peel which gave it extra aroma.
I definitely recommend this drink if you are in the area.

Damask Rose Tea:
Damask Rose tea is extremely fragrant and soothing with a lovely bitter aftertaste.
I had it cold to begin with and you can get a second round by adding hot water which also tasted good.

Will definitely be back if I am in the area and hopefully they will have another branch closer to the city.
