[Review 84] A bit raw @ The Burger Joint

Date reviewed on openrice: 08/09/2007

I went late in the afternoon, so not there were many ppl there.
I was expecting some American staff, but the one I ordered from didn't really understand English.
Anyway i ordered a cheese lovers, and should have taken note of the previous comments that the patty is half cooked.
However the fries were delicious with the creamy mayo sauce, but the portabello mushroom was not fresh, it was pickled in vinegar sauce.
For my tea, it was funny they asked me if i wanted milk. But the milk they gave me wasn't milk, it was that nasty hong kong cream, or whatever its meant to be.

[Review 78] Good Owner @ Toppings

Date reviewed on openrice: 24/08/2007

Unexpectedly such a small shop, located next to a tire shop.

Anyway their burgers taste great, each burger is made with their secret patties. The burgers are nice and juicy with a hint of black pepper.

I like the fact u can put whatever toppings u want. The owner is also quite nice, because he doesn't mind sharing ideas about his food. Also he showed me the uncooked form when i asked.

The only thing that cud be improved is stopping those fleas surrounding the toppings.

[Review 74] Fish Burger with Cinnamon Tea @ Freshness Burger

Date reviewed on openrice: 14/08/2007

This is a really good burger bar, shame that it is located very far from the MTR, right at the end of LCX!!!

Anyway i ordered a fishburger with cinnamon tea, the fish burger was excellent, i liked the sauce the best, because it was the typical Japanese mayonnaise. At first i wondered why the burger bun was orange, then i realised it was made of pumpkin from stated from the menu. So quite innovative of the Japanese.

Finally the cinnamon tea was quite good, tastes like English tea with cinnamon.

[Review 73] Juicy Burger @ MOS Burger

Date reviewed on openrice: 25/07/2007

First time trying these japanese burgers, so we tried the Teriyaki beef burger and Fresh burger.

The burgers were slightly smaller than expected, about the size of a McDonalds hamburger, but anyway it was good, not too dry. Got to try the MOS one next time.

The sitting area was freezing cold, and there were strong gusts of cold air.

[Review 7] Creamy Macaroni @ Jollibee 快樂蜂

Date Reviewed on Openrice: 10/02/2006

When i walked past Jollibee, I saw this big poster advertising Creamy macaroni, so I went in to try it, as it seemed like an interesting dish.

As it was a small bowl, it only cost me $10, I also wanted to try their pies, but the flavour i wanted to try was sold out.

The Creamy macaroni tasted quite nice, it tasted like chicken soup/chicken a la king with macaroni added to it.

[Review 6] Canadian style @ Triple O's by White Spot

Date Reviewed on Openrice: 08/02/2006

Totally agree with Jenn.m that this is Canadian food.

Yesterday I went to Triple O's for a burger.

I ordered a mushroom burger meal with extra egg and chose the blueberry milkshake for the drink.

The mushroom burger tasted very nice, quite a decent size, and complimented well with the sauces, the chips were also lovely, and I was pleased that there was vinegar to use, and table ketchup, all the necessaries that should go with the chips. The chips were medium cut, not too thin or too thick.

Lastly the milkshake was great. Their milkshakes are freshly whipped to order.

For a fast food restaurant, their staff were helpful, as they assisted me in pouring the ketchup when it did not want to come out of the bottle.

Next time, I shall try the Veggie burger.........

[Review 1] Burgers and Taro Fries @ Hong Kong Pork Chop (旺角)

Date published on Openrice: 29/01/2006

This fast food shop definitely caught my eye, it is bright and colourful.

Taking a closer look, the place specialises in Pork Chop Burgers, and in a large variety of flavours such as curry, black pepper, etc.

The Taro Chip/Fries are a must try, as it is rare for Taros to be served like chips.

As for burgers, the black pepper and curry are a thumbs up flavour. The chicken is succulent and juicy and nicely intertwined in the sauce.
