With the trend of lobster rolls in HK, Dutch Harbor Crab popped up specializing in Alaskan king crab from Dutch Harbor.

Dutch Harbor is the source for Alaskan king crab legs which appeared in a famous US TV show called Deadliest catch.

I went during the weekend to avoid the office crowd and this joint fits in nicely with ALOHA and Healthy Chicken.

Annoyingly, they had my favourite grilled cheese sandwich so I ordered that and a mini King Crab roll.

The King crab roll was amazing because the bun was soft and fluffy with a slight crispiness and the crab was scrumptious as expected because the crab tasted like it was freshly taken out from the sea and oozing with seawater.

The dressing was minimalistic so it didn't over power the freshness.

For a new shop, I was quite impressed with the menu because they had pictures for all their rolls including the vegetarian one which most restaurants neglect.
They also accept card.

I love QMO because it is right on Ship Street.

At QMO, they serve tapas with Mediterranean inspirations and they have more seafood options which the locals will love.

I was really lucky to have dinner with someone who really knew about the food at QMO and handsome as well.

The menu is simplistic and the dishes do not have any fancy names and it tells you literally what is in it.

Started with cherry tomatoes, burrata and basil cress.
THIS WAS MAGIC. I think the dish should be renamed to Burrata bubbles because people won't know how awesome this dish is.
It is not the ordinary burrata that you see so you are in for a surprise.

They are actually burrata bubbles that burst in your mouth as they are made using spherification by Molecular Gastronomy so you can already imagine how divine they are.
I wouldn't mind eating plates of these and they were topped with basil cress (baby basil leaves).

Next was the sundried tomatoes, mushroom, kalamata.

This was another vegetarian dish that I loved because it was strong flavours.
It was a layer of bread, olives, mushrooms topped with sundried tomatoes and the saltiness of the olives worked nicely with the sundried tomatoes and mushrooms.
I would have loved an extra piece of toast to go with it.

I am not a fan of chorizo but this changed my mind because it is a thin slice of chorizo sandwiched in this cute burger with a creamy filling.

Shrimp and foie gras ravioli, oyster jus:

Moving on to this semi seafood dish was this huge ravioli where there are three in a portion.
Not only is it big but the piece of foie gras inside is big and there is a whole prawn inside.
As the ravioli wrap was made with local wonton wrap, it had this wonton taste and feel to it when the prawn flavours and wonton wrap were eaten together.
The ravioli was topped with this silky oyster foam which brings out the marine flavours.

Cuttlefish, meatball and vegetables:

If I could rename this dish, I would call it Mama's boy meatballs because the recipe comes from gorgeous Chef Martin Carrasco's mum.
It was deliciously soft and juicy meatballs in a light vegetable sauce topped with tender soft cuttlefish and finely chopped garlic and herbs.

Coconut-Ginger Sorbet, Kaffir Lime:

Finished off with this lovely sorbet with a fiery ginger sorbet paired with sweet juicy lychees surrounded in a coconut sauce which is poured infront of you.

A few years ago there were not many good options for food in Kwun Tong but now it has all changed offering lots of Western choices as well as Chinese choices.

This restaurant is located in a factory conveniently close to the the MTR exit so you go there on a rainy day without getting wet.

It offers great privacy because there are no windows and some tables are partitioned.
When I got there, I was greeted with a rack of luscious green hydrophonic vegetables.

Here was the menu we had that day and the dishes were quite healthy.

We started off with vegetables which impressed me the most because the dressing was minimalistic and the salad was hydrophonic vegetables which are crisp and sweet.
I liked the way, they served salad in a Chinese restaurant which makes it not so boring.

After having the salad, we moved on to the warm appetizers.
There was silky steamed egg topped with Chinese style gravy and prawn, a modern version of steamed egg.

Then it was a fried aubergine coated in cornstarch topped with egg.
The aubergine went nicely with the sauce beneath it.

For soups there was crocodile and the coconut.

The other one was melon, whelk and pork.

Then it was the mains.
The fish in truffle sauce was really fragrant complemented by the sweet sugar snap peas.

Next was the strawberry pork which girls will love.
I liked it because it was a piece of meat rather than being served ribs as it is easier to eat.
The sweetness was just right.

The peasprouts in fish soup was light and healthy.

To finish, there was steamed mixed grain rice and fish.
Again another healthy dish.


For dessert, it was fried sweet croquettes filled with taro mash.

My colleague wanted drinks on a friday night but I wasn't keen on going because pubs are old and smelly with lots of people smoking.
Luckily I remembered this place because they have comfortable chairs and live singing.
Most of the people there that night were from the Tai Hang neighborhood having a fun time listening to music and dancing.
It was really funky because they had this abalone and whisky paring and I got to eat the abalone since they ordered the whisky
The abalone was nicely done and it tasted really good with the whisky because I got a spoon of whisky and put it on the abalone which enhanced the taste with bitterness.

To be honest I went here because I saw pictures of some appetizer served in an ice crystal.

The views are ok but Hong Kong buildings are constantly under construction.

Started with the duo of crab which was served in a stunning ice crystal.
The crab was sweet complimented by the buttery avocado and tropical fruits.

Then we had the red prawn carpaccio and the taste of red prawns never fail.
It had a nice briny taste with a hint of lemon and olive oil.

One of the mains was the French duck Magret and it was very meaty and tasted like beef.

The homemade Kamut wheat spaghetti was really good because the sauce was rich and the spaghetti was healthy with lots wheat in it that gave it an interesting texture.

The New Zealand lamb shank was guaranteed to be soft as it was cooked using the sous vide method.
