As well as English Tea I also love to drink Chinese tea.
If I knew this place existed, I would have come earlier but luckily I discovered it just after attending a Chinese Tea course at Landmark.
At Phoenix Tea, you will find that it is a formal tea house where you can truly appreciate tea because they don't serve food although they do have some simple dried fruit and nuts to go with the teas.
Phoenix Tea is located in TST and recognized by the Hong Kong Tourism Board as a Quality Merchant.
The tea house mainly sells high-end Merrylong Wu Yi Rock Tea and Feng Huang Black Tea and they also provide a VIP area and an education corner for organising exhibitions, courses and seminars on Chinese rock tea culture.
I found it very educational to see the tea roasters and types of rocks on display.
There were lots of different teapots and cups.
For beginners, they have tea sets with dried fruits to nibble on.
I chose the set which had two teas so I could try two.
The staff will demonstrate how to make the first round.
The first tea I tried was the Cassia Ya grade.
It had a nice bitterness it.
The second tea I had was the Lapsang SouChong black tea from the Wuyi region in China.
It had an interesting smoky taste.
I really enjoyed this experience because it is a true place where you can concentrate on drinking tea so I will be back to try some other teas.
