How the food scene has changed

About a decade ago, there was not much Western restaurants let alone coffee shops in Lai Chi Kok.
All that has changed.
Holly Brown which used to be famous had branches all over Hong Kong but now there are only two branches left in Central and this latest one in Lai Chi Kok.
The menu at Lai Chi Kok offers more than gelato that I was actually captivated by the souffle pancakes but sadly they didn't have it that evening.
Started with the Taiwanese Jasmine tea but the the smell and taste was a bit strange, it was slightly sweet and the taste reminded me of lavatory Jasmine air refresheners and the Jasmine incenses you smell at Thai places.
Had the squid ink tagliatelle with prawn, scallop and asparagus, evidently the seafood was cooked separately then garnished on top before serving.
The pasta and squid ink sauce was quite good but it wasn't hot enough and the pasta texture was a bit too hard as if it was prepared a long time ago and recooked with sauce when someone ordered it.
For desserts, had the red velvet cake which was nice and dense but the buttercream was rather brittle and chalky.
Felt like drinking some warm milk that night but not too much so had the babyccino which is the perfect option.
The Earl Grey tea was a great finish.
