This is the cheapest Christmas lunch I have had so far, but not that British, firstly the starter was quite oriental, containing sugary sweet papaya.

Then the mains came with baby sweetcorn too.
I get annoyed when I order TEA and they ask if I want it with Lemon or Milk, because then the whole place doesn't feel that British, and tea is with milk traditionally.

Anyway, just another option for people I guess.

Overall, it was turkey roll with dates, gravy, broccoli, cauliflower, half baked/boiled potatoes and mash.
The mash was the pre-made ones where you add water to it.

The dessert was dense sponge with peel and currants and vanilla sauce, although it was meant to be brandy, I couldnt taste it.
I think I would only recommend the Christmas lunch to Hong Kongers, It is value for money since it is a five course for $98 (bread, starter, soup, main, pudding and tea).

Already had roast turkey last week, so this is part 2, too lazy to write about it, since I wrote about it last year, and its standards have remained
http://www.openrice.com/restaurant/commentdetail.htm?commentid=1963111

Last year I didn't go to Carnegies, either they didn't have the xmas lunch or it was so conveniently located, I could try it anytime.

I was surprised it all tasted really good, the stuffing was the best, strong with herbs, and there were bits of meat in it. The bacon wrapped sausage was good too, it was salty from the bacon.
The roast vegetables were slightly over roasted but ok, I liked the potatoes as they were cut to smaller pieces, and parsnips were good.
The Brussels sprouts could have been softer, they were so hard, my fork couldn't get through it!
As for the turkey, I was surprised it was tender and juicy.

Then for dessert, had minced pie, not baked but microwaved, as the pastry was soft.
To finish it off, had a nice cup of tea.

Actually this should be part 3, but the first place I tried, I don’t have a picture for reference.

Anyway, this place is the cheapest out of all three, the turkey was juicy and tender compared to the other two places I tried, the downside is that they don’t have my favourite stuffing or gravy, however there was foie gras. The cranberry sauce had whole cranberries in it which can be seen on the picture, but the sauce was slightly sweet.

Like any usual set lunch, it included starter and a drink; my chicken salad was more like Caesar salad with three shreds of chicken on it.
Then we were given a mince pie with cream to share, which tasted like the normal mince pie with raisins and sultanas.
