My favourites were the ricerolls which were presented with three options: lobster gravy, minced meat and soy sauce.
The Taiwanese guobaos were filling as they were filled with Wagyu beef.
Overall, there is something for everyone!

[Review 7556] Star studded noodle joint @

This noodle joint is opened by former actor John Tang whose buddy is Louis Koo hence this shop was in the news recently when Louis Koo made a visit.
Obviously they serve cart noodles but they also have premium options such as abalone, fish maw and Japanese Oysters.
I was tempted by the oyster curry but in the end I decided to try the noodles because it was  good combination of oysters and Shiitake mushrooms.
Other items on the menu:

The oysters and shiitake mushroom noodles were a good combination which gave the noodles a nice flavour.
It would be great if they had efu noodles as a noodle options.
Anyway, oysters are delicious but eat at your own risk.
My friend was not affected but I was vomiting and shatting the next day.
Also had the house special which includes scallops and fish maw but as the scallops were sold out they were replaced with trotters.

Overall good but some of the ingredients could have been softer like the fish maw and beef tendons.
The fish balls were a bit cold.
Finished with lime soda.
There is another branch in YMT which I might visit since they serve egg waffles.

Some friends were staying nearby so we went here for the dinner buffet. At the moment, they are doing a summer feast with seafood and mango delights.

Sonata is on the second floor of Rosedale Hotel overlooking the flyover.
There was a good selection of food.
Starting from the entrance, you are greeted with a variety of seafood like crayfish, prawns, brown crabs, Crab legs and mussels.

I liked the salad selection as well because they had healthy Kale Salad.
Moving onto the carvery, there was roast beef and roast pork.
The roast pork was tender and moist.

In the cooked selection, I was really impressed with the wintermelon soup which was topped with lots of Tonkin Jasmime.
I tried the soup and it was really comforting loaded with straw mushrooms, octopus and other goodies.
The other dish that is a must eat was the braised beef cheek with carrots, the beef was soft and gelatinous.

Every guest gets a bowl of freshly grilled Lobster tail Laksa noodles.

The broth isn't that spicy which makes it palatable for kids as well.
Moving on to the desserts, there was so much to choose from especially mango which is being promoted at the moment.
They had black forest rolls with mango, pandan cream cakes with mango, sago with mango, mango mille feuille, mango serradura etc.

As a pandan fan, I was really chuffed with the pandan choices and they even had Earl Grey Creme Brulee as well.
There was a tub of warm and silky tofu pudding which is a must.
Traditionally yellow sugar is used as a topping which they had but I decided to put some chocolate on it because I love chocolate tofu.

[Review 7445] The Real Korean Toasts in HK @ Ssoja Toast & Hotdog

The closest I got to K Toast was at Deserve Better in WC which closed down!
The good news is that Ssoja Toast & Hotdog from Korea has set up a joint in Eaton Hotel.
The menu has toast, hot dogs, lattes and smoothies.
Tried the 3 Combo Toast which had ham, egg, and bacon in it.
The ham was thickly sliced and the egg had sweetcorn in it so it was a filling toast.
I found it really sweet especially the dressing.
After reading the article on openrice, it turns out the dressing is made of golden kiwi!
Finished with the blueberry purple potato latte which was an interesting pairing.
It was served in square shaped plastic cup which made it memorable topped with latte art.
Overall quite satisfied.
Will be back for the smoothies and the Hash Brown toast.

[Review 7418] Worst Lasagna @ LE BAR

Went here randomly so didn't have any expectations.
The menu had a lot to offer but in general it was really expensive!
I wanted to order the Hainan Chicken but the it came with coconut rice which I don't like so ordered lasagna.
There was meat or vegetable so chose vegetable to be on the safe side incase the meat wasn't fresh.
Ironically, the vegetables were dehydrated and chewy.
The slices of carrots were bruised.
It makes me wonder how long it has been in their freezer since they had it delivered.
The worst thing was that the lasagna came in this weird Sweet tomato soup.
The only thing that tasted normal were the chicken tulips!
According to the menu, it comes with sweet chili sauce but they gave us tomato ketchup by accident which goes better anyway.
The salad was pretty much standard.
For drinks, had the lemongrass and peach colada which were ok.
The apple crumble was revolting.
I almost vomited when it was served because you could smell rancid butter or shortening from the crumble.
As well as the crap food, the staff were hoping us to eat quickly and go as they just couldn't wait to serve the dessert even though we were in the middle of our mains.
