HLS have launched these cute buckets of fruit slushes in four flavours:
Pineapple, longnan berry, strawberry and cucumber.

Previously tried the cucumber which was too sweet so went for the Pineapple because Mjqueen7e said the coconut noodles were good.
The promotional leaflets at this store were better and they had a pop up menu.

You can get these $10 coupons for the slush buckets so they only cost around $23 but I didn't know about them and didn't see them giving it out.
After tearing the coupons away you can make this flick flack game [there are other names for this eg cootie catcher] to decide which flavour.

Pineapple slush:

At this branch, they give you a square plate instead of the rectangular plate.
The pineapple slush was refreshing because it was blended with fresh chunks of pineapple but it was slightly too sweet.
Beneath the slush were coconut noodles which was delicious with the slush and the sweetness eating these two together were just right.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Cucumber slush:

Tried the cucumber slush again and the slush was too sweet and the sweetness was consistent with the first time I tried it.

HLS have launched these cute buckets of fruit slushes in four flavours:
Pineapple, longnan berry, strawberry and cucumber.

I went for the cucumber because cucumber is supposedly refreshing.
It appears that they have ran out of the buckets because too many people have ordered it so I was given a disposable cup.
It was garnished with fresh melon.
The cucumber slush was way too sweet and the sago and marshmallow didn't make it taste better.
Beneath the slush was delicious aloe jelly which saved the dessert!!

[Review 4223] Japanese inspired jellies @ 許留山 Hui Lau Shan

I am not a regular of Hui Lau Shan but went there to try this new jelly dessert that has flowers in it.
There are three different types of flowers in the jelly which are dusted with green tea powder or mung bean powder.
The labelling of the jelly series were awful because it does not indicate what the three different flowers are.

The desserts cost $17 takeaway or $22 dine in.

When you dine there, THEY ARE MEANT to serve the pudding with the flower side up and sprinkle powder on top like the picture but at this branch she just gave me a spoon which is ludicrous because I was paying for takeaway food at dine in prices.

She finally put it in a dessert bowl when I asked about the green tea powder, otherwise I would have been conned for green tea powder.

Even so,  they should give you green tea powder with the takeaway.

Flower lovers will be disappointed at the lack of floral taste but it was ok for me because I can’t stand the taste of flowers and the bitterness of the green tea powder was good to balance the sweetness of the jelly.
As for the texture of the jelly, it was firm and chewy like konjac.

I never dine at Hui Lau Shan unless there is something new because the usual choices are too local and it is just mangoes and coconut which I do not like.
Bravo! they now serve some French tarts by Boncolac.
The new baby white peach cheesecake was interesting because the peach was green.
There was blueberry cheesecake as well.

Hokkaido sweet potato drink:
I wasn't impressed at first because I got my hands sticky when I held the glass cup!
Anyway, apart from sweet potato, there were lots of other goodies in the drink such as purple sweetcorn and you can really taste the sweet potato infused in the drink.
The only disappointment was that it was way too sweet.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Strawberry tart:
The strawberry tart was really nice, it had plump mushed strawberries on top with a thin layer of custard between the tart and the fruit.

[Review 2828] I am dirty, please take me home to be recycled @ 許留山 Hui Lau Shan

I was attracted to the new Durian dessert with Glutinous rice because of the Jar.
Previously tried it before because Mjqueen7e got me the Frozen one from some local supermarket.

According to their Facebook and product shots, the glutinous rice is on the bottom layer with fresh durian meat on top.

There is a label on the jar in Chinese saying " Please take me home to be reused"

The glutinous rice was in a plastic tub which was put inside the glass jar.

The fresh durian was placed on top of the glutinous rice and strangely garnished with parsley which was so funny in a dessert.

It seems that you can take the inner plastic tub out which contains the dessert, and the bottom half of the jar is clean.

As I was going to reuse it, I decided to wipe the jar with tissue in case there were traces of dessert on it and I was SHOCKED to see the TISSUE WAS BLACK!!
How can they put food in DIRTY containers.
Food grade containers are a standard and clean containers for food are a must!
Wouldn't this make an interesting article for Appledaily after having just reported Hoi Tin Tong's contaminated turtoise desserts.
It makes me wonder if people in Hong Kong know the definition of Food grade containers or even food hygiene.

I suppose I was also lucky because according to their Facebook, the glutinous rice and durian is actually in the jar and touching the insides of the jar directly.
The only fortunate thing was that the glutinous rice did not touch that black stuff.
Their recycling label should read:
I am dirty, please take me home to be recycled
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Durian and glutinous rice:
The durian was quite mushy and sweet and the glutinous rice was dehydrated and hard that I wonder how long it had been in the fridge.

[Review 2706] Mix and match with style by MANGO EXPRESS @ 許留山芒果站 Mango Express, Hui Lau Shan

This shop is called Mango Express which is a new line of drinks by Hui Lau Shan.
But for some reason, OpenRice has listed this as Hui Lau Shan and not Mango Express.

Quoted from Hui Lan Shan's Facebook page:

It opened on the 3rd of August, offering D.I.Y drinks with up to 80 combinations!!

To order your D.I.Y drink, follow the steps:
Step 1: Choose your drink based on a choice of five juices: Mango, coconut, watermelon, blueberry or pineapple.
Step 2: Choose an ingredient from: sago, basil seed, mango or pineapple.
Step 3: Choose a jelly base: aloe jelly, mango pudding, mango jelly, or honey jelly.

If you can't decide or wait, there are drinks already mixed in the fridge for grab and go convenience.
Bright and colourful straws for the drinks.

My DIY Drink HKD21:

Pineapple x Sago x Aloe Jelly
Great concept and drink but it was WAY too sweet and syrupy!
It really wrecked their claims on healthy drinks.
The aloe jelly was really nice though because it had a strong pandan taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
As well as drinks, they also sell their usual snacks such as curried fishballs, shaomai's and one snack I found interesting was the Durian chocolate!
