Previously I tried the salmon burger which was delicious, so decided to try the other Salmon rice burger in this series.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Salmon rice burger HKD26:
The difference between the Salmon rice burger and the Salmon burger, is that this one uses rice patties as the burger bun, and there is egg mayonnaise in the middle.
There is also a slice of seaweed at the bottom too.
I was a bit annoyed because they were super stingy with the egg salad, there was only a tiny splodge on top of the salmon.
The second thing that went wrong was the salmon, it was over cooked and dry this time.

The burger was tasteless.

[Review 1704] Naan Tuna Mayo @ MOS Burger

I found it quite interesting that MOS Burger was offering naans topped with cheese just like a pizza so I went there and tried it.
There were three flavours: seafood, pizza and cheese and tuna.
Only cheese and tuna was available that day and after trying it, I think that would have been the best flavour anyway.
The appearance of the naan reminded me of bicycle saddle seat.
Usually I do not like Pizzas with thick bases but because it was naan bread it was much nicer because it was nice and soft.
Also the cheese was just right and the tomato sauce and tuna tasted strong but each taste was distinct.

Hokkaido pumpkin croquette HKD13:
Have not tried their croquettes so decided to try it.
Basically it is mashed pumpkin inside the croquette which is coated in Japanese cutlet coating.
I found the coating too heavy and oily.
The croquette filling itself was not too creamy but it was too sweet.

Couldn’t decide whether to get the hot or the iced green tea so ended up getting both.

It was more expensive getting the drinks a la carte than paying extra money when ordering set meals.
But anyway, I wasn’t hungry so I just got the drinks.

Both the cold and hot version cost $20 per cup.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Hot green tea
The smell and taste was bitter, it reminded me of DRIED FISH FOOD, the stuff you feed fish with!!!
The smell and taste was really strong. The milk in the green tea was not creamy.
The foamy hot chocolate at MOS tastes better than the green tea.

Iced green tea
This was sweeter than the hot version and powdery.

Overall, the iced version was better.

After trying the lemon chicken burger, this time I was back for the black vinegar chicken burger.
The chicken was really crispy and there was lots of black vinegar sauce.
The taste of the fried chicken was exactly the same as the chicken in black vinegar sauce at Ootoya.
To finish it off, had a nice cup of ginger ale.

Tried the new Saku Saku chicken burger with lemon sauce.

The chicken filet in the burger was crisp and juicy drizzled with lemon sauce.

The coating of the chicken had some black pepper which could be seen.

It tasted really similar to Cantonese lemon chicken.
It was basically the same as the grilled chicken burger with orange and black pepper sauce.

As well as that I got the lemon and honey konjac drink, however from labelling it said it came from Taiwan which was unexpected, I assumed all MOS products to came from Japan.

The fish burger at MOS is slightly sweeter than the other fish burgers elsewhere.
The mayonnaise used in the fish burger at freshness is more refreshing.
All the buns for the fish burgers do not have sesame on top except for the one at Burger King.
Anyway the cheese is generous at MOS you get a full slice, however the fish is slightly bland.

The curry hotdog was a special item at MOS.
It had nice thinly sliced onions and curry sauce topped on top.
Basically it tastes the same but spicy with the curry sauce.
The sauce was thick and messy during consumption.

[Review 1047] Foamy hot chocolate @ MOS Burger

MOS Burger

This was the sort of drink I was expecting at Kami Teapresso, tea with fancy foam on top.

This was my first hot chocolate in HK from a fast food chain. It is commonly served in KFC and McDs in UK, but not served in HK.

Anyway the Foamy hot chocolate at MOS costs $15. There was lots of lovely foam on top, foamy fun alternative for people who do not drink coffee.

Sugar was provided too which was not pre-mixed, you can adjust the sweetness level to your liking.

The foam at the top was made from milk, and the hot chocolate had a strong taste of cocoa and slightly bitter, which was compensated by adding the required amount of sugar.

Overall, the hot chocolate was fun to drink and didn’t leave a sour aftertaste like other milk products.

The TakoKatsu burger was launched on the 14th. Tako means Octopus, hence an Octopus burger.

This was my first time trying an Octopus burger, the closest thing I have had to it was a cuttlefish burger from Toppings.

Cuttlefish burger@Toppings:
http://www.openrice.com/restaurant/commentdetail.htm?commentid=2010566

Basically it looks like a normal burger with a patty inside, there was finely shredded lettuce and cabbage and dressing.
The Octopus patty contained pieces of chopped tentacles in it, and it wasn’t too dry, the patty contained prawns as well, the taste was similar to eating a prawn burger at McDonalds.
The patty was slightly gel like inside, same as the prawn burger from McDs, I felt that they have cleverly used this in the patty so the Octopus doesn’t taste dry and tough.

Overall it was worth trying, but the sauce was slightly too strong and I couldn’t really taste the octopus.

[Review 946] Super cute mini fries inside a burger @ MOS Burger

It's so cool, MOS is spreading like virus!
Now there is as branch in Kowloon Bay as well as Lok Fu~!~
Tried the grilled chicken burger with orange sauce (HK) name, which was launched simultaneously all over Asia on 26th Dec 2010.

The Singapore one is slightly different, it is called Grilled chicken burger with Orange-Pepper sauce, however when I tried the HK version, it was the same, it also had pepper in it.Hopefully it is here to stay for good!

When I got the burger, it was just like the product shot, it was layered with thinly sliced onions at the bottom, which were semi-cooked, with a slight crispy texture. Then it was the grilled chicken on top with golden orange sauce on top with pieces of black pepper.
Finally the best part! A scrunched up cake make of miniature fries! HOW CUTE!!!!!!

I just couldn't resist breaking it up, so that they were individual chips!!

Anyway, this is my favourite burger out of the whole MOS selection.
I really liked the chicken with the wafer thin sliced onions, crispy potato and the sweet orange sauce.
However it was slightly messy to eat, and the chicken was slightly tough.

The crunchy potato was certainly fun and delicious, they are similar to coated chips, but in super cute mini form.
So cute I had to place those mini fries next to a chicken nugget.

But overall I still felt hungry afterwards, even though I had a burger, chicken nuggets and a tea.

[Review 942] Strawberry kisses @ MOS Burger

A fun wintery snack that I got from MOS burger for $39.9.

Usually, they are chocolate covered strawberries, but these are frozen strawberries that are filled with creamy white chocolate.

The whole packaging is very pretty, from the clear crystal shaped box to the crispy clear bag, both imported from Japan, and each strawberry is individually wrapped with a gold twist tie.

When I got box of strawberries, it contained an ice pack to keep the strawberries cold, I asked if they were to be eaten straight away or defrosted, and the guy said they are supposed to be eaten straight away.

Anyway, undid the cute gold twist ties and popped one of the strawberries in my mouth, and my mouth was numbed by the coldness of the strawberry. It was rock hard too@!

Slowly I could taste the strawberry and the sweet creamy filling.

Although it is recommended to eat them straight away, I let them thaw for a while and ate it to compare the taste.

It tasted much better slightly thawed, the texture of the strawberry was slightly slushy with the ice cold filling oozing out, and as it wasn't so frozen you can get a more impactful taste of the strawberry tartness and sweet white chocolate creamy taste.

Interesting variations of MOS products in Taiwan, Singapore and Japan.

Missed the chicken curry cheese burger, so this time decided to try the Oyaku rice burger, which is basically chicken and egg in the middle.
Tasted ok, but a bit sweet for my liking.
The milk tea which I ordered contained lemon slices, which would make the milk curd when I poured the milk in.
Its weird! who puts lemon slices in milk tea!!
Anyway told them about the lemon slices, and got a fresh cup without.
The fried chicken was over done.
