Another hot dog shop in the same spot!!

6 years ago, there used to be a Hot dog joint right at this spot called Juicy J's, then some Kebab shop took over, then this Asian snack shop and now this!!!
Hot Dog is the main thing here but I was actually excited about the #4 pea cup because all I could think was mushy peas or just plain peas because I love peas.
The funny thing was, when I got there I bumped into the previous kebab owner and his friend getting a hot dog.

Anyway, it was hard deciding between the chili con carne dog or the bacon because I love bacon but I wasn't sure what bacon they used but according to the breakfast dog photos, the bacon looked crispy and yum.
Decided to get the chili con carne [#2 Spicy Hotted], not sure why it is called hotted but that is what the menu says.

It was a friggin hot day for hot dog but luckily the frank was warm and the sauce was warm so I didn't have to wait for it to cool down or burn myself.
Overall, it was quite tasty topped with meat sauce and kidney beans but it definitely wasn't chili con carne as it wasn't spicy and didn't contain the spices like cumin, paprika or marjoram. It was just plain meat sauce with tomato and kidney beans however the frankfurter made up for the spiciness as it was spicy.
Saying that, I want to come back for the classic dog as they have the ketchup and mustard and I heard it has onions in it too. I also want to try the peas as well and the cheesey ham balls!!

Since the closure of SUBWAY, it has been hard getting baguettes and sarnies.
Crunch N Munch Bakery has been here since last year so I guess their bakery should be good otherwise they wouldn't be here for that long staying that low profile.

Finally gave them a try.
They have seven different bagels to choose from and then you can choose any fillings from the list.
Wanted the mushroom tofu stirfry but it was sold out.

I chose Cheddar Cheese and another filling.
They were really generous with the fillings but I regretted choosing the cheddar because it was evidently processed cheese slices.
Anyway, I will be back because the bagels with fillings are affordable and they taste great.
Hoping to see other fillings like feta cheese and hummus on the list.

As I come from Eastboxxne, Fish and Chips by the sea was something I took for granted.Now you can have fish and chips by the sea in Sai Kung.
The decor was nice and relaxed.
These chairs are perfect for any coat.
The menu at Momentai had a good variety ranging from burgers, poke and almost everything.
For me, my choices were clear, I wanted Fish and Chips and the burger.
I was so chuffed they had Bubble and Squeak so I ordered a side of it.
The version here is so much healthier because it isn't fried.

My veggie burger was tasty and filling with halloumi and a veggie patty on top of some crisp sweet baby gem lettuce leaves.

The Fish and chips was spot on with a good crispy batter and moist flaky fish inside.
I can't wait to come back again because they have apple crumble as well.

I was in SK over the CNY but was too lazy to walk over to The Cabin, Village Malaysian etc and this restaurant saved the day because there is no point paying for overpriced stuff that is not my cup of tea and the food I had here is 10x healthier.
It was late in the afternoon and I was in SK to get another bus somewhere for dinner so I had something light.
Originally wanted the roast potatoes which weren't ready yet so I had the hummus.
The hummus here is made with more Tahini than Chickpeas hence it is a lot smoother and not as thick paired with Lavish flat bread which is a lot thinner with a slight crisp to it.
It all worked out brilliantly because there was a perfect ratio of flatbread to hummus as sometimes you don't get enough of either or too much of either!
The hummus wasn't strong in flavour but you could taste the Tahini.
As I said the recipe is different because some are more lemony or laced with cumin or chickpeas.
Anyway, it really makes me miss hummus brothers in UK where they had chicken curry hummus bowls!
Tried the falafel and it was fluffy with a hint of mint.

I rarely go to SK these days because the transport sucks.Anyway stopped by for lunch as I was in SK to collect something.
Piccolos has been around for ages and this probably my third time here.

The menu has changed quite a lot and offers a good variety but having Western tastebuds I had the Spaghetti Bolognese.

The portion was enough for two and it was served piping hot.
I loved the rich tomato taste and the abundance of meat in the pasta while the texture of the pasta al dente.

It was really good that it came with garlic bread because there is so much meat sauce to go with it.
Water was served and they put raspberries and lemon slices in it which makes it not so boring.

Went to SK deliberately to try these Guangdong delights, some restaurants say it's from Kaiping, some say its from Chaoshan and some from Toishan.
Anyway, I am not familiar with cuisine from China but I just like trying different things.
Portions are big so unfortunately I couldn't try the steamed rice vermicelli which is also available at 食好啲

Anyway, I tried the vegetable tea (Hakka thunder tea) which was loaded with vegetables, glass vermicelli, squid and it was a delicious savoury soup concoction topped with crispy puffed rice.

I really liked the soup but perhaps I am not fond of meat hence I didn't like the preserved sausages in it.
Then I had the ricerolls which were silky complimented by their homemade chili sauce which was quite hot.

The egg in the riceroll tasted surprisingly good because it was quite eggy.

Also tried some meatballs which are handmade, hence the irregular shape.

Went to Singkee again because the food is good.

It was my third time trying this place so we had some different dishes.

Started with uni which was so big it was the like the size of a human tongue served with other fresh sashimi.

The clams in clear broth was my favourite because it was seasoned with salt and pepper bringing out the delicate flavours of the clams.
The glass vermicelli is the essence of the dish because it has soaked up the delicious broth.

Then there is crispy abalone which is coated in a lovely light coating infused with garlic, pepper and their secret spices which does not over power the natrual taste of the abalone.

This was my favourite because it was unique and different, the fried rice vermicelli actually tastes really good with the cheesy sauce.

Pudding:

I really liked this pudding especially the Yakult jelly because it was different!!
So far no other place in Hong Kong serves it.

Went here in November last year but it wasn't listed on OP so decided to wait for someone to update it.

Ordered the Black bean and avocado burger which was disappointing because the patty was cold and it was too spicy to eat.

On a health conscious note, the black bean patty was really healthy because it wasn't fried as it was just black bean paste shaped into a patty.
The avocado was missing so they gave me some after I ask

Haven't been here for ages so decided to have lunch at The Cabin with my Brit friend.

I am glad the food was still consistently good and didn't let us down.

Went for lunch so I recommended the cottage pie to him but the other two dishes like fish pie and Lancashire lamb hotpot were also recommendable.

All three are annoyingly good.

Anyway, I had the fish burger with chips because it was not on the menu before.

REAL CHIPS served here.

Eating in crappy Sai Kung is getting expensive these days Thanks to the damn people flogging to SK every damn weekend and public holidays.

If you have travelled to other countries, SK is shat!

I definitely wouldn't waste my time in SK because there is so much better food on the HK side.

Anyway, had the pad thai which was quite good with lots of tiny dried shrimps in it and it was not cloyingly sweet.

Don't like this place but had to come here to meet someone.
Hated the rice rolls because the colouring from the charsiu comes off and makes the rice rolls pink.
The food is crap so I normally pretend to eat.

Sai Kung recently celebrated its 100th anniversary of the Tinhau and Guandi temple 西貢慶典.
This took place from the 17th-22nd November with the Chinese opera 西貢戲棚 kicking off and booths 市集  selling local creative and traditional snacks 街頭小食 and products on Yi Chun Street.

I was really lucky to tag along and watch the parade on land and at sea followed by the banquet catered by 萬里緣盆菜專門店.

Sunday the 21st was the main event with a parade that saw the Tin Hau and Kwan Tai statues being carried along the streets of Sai Kung followed by the parade carried out at sea.
Approximately 50 viewing boats sailed alongside vying for the best view.
After the parade, a Poon choi banquet was held for guests with over 500 tables which took up the whole Sai Kung square and part of the road adjacent to the market and theatre.
The big bowl feast catered by 萬里緣盆菜專門店 was consistently good because I have had this before.

My favourite was the beancurd sheets and the gravy was damn good with the rice.
