I didn’t really notice this bakery until these triangle things caught my eye.
Then I was drawn to these purple potato cakes above them which cost $3 each or $7 for three so decided to get three.
Luckily they tasted good and the casing on the outside was flaky and the appearance is basically the same as Wife cakes but filled with purple sweet potato.
There was a weird stickyness when you ate it and a slight astringent mouthfeel after eating them but it is interesting to see these old shops staying in the trend.

Saw this listed on OR which got me interested because the name reminded me of The curry pot in Wanchai which did yummy buffets for lunch but closed down.

Anyway, this joint is located in SaiWanHo so it is a bit far fetched and the MTR is annoying because it takes me twice as long to get to the road level compared to other MTR stations.
Finally made it and the staffs there were pretty friendly.

Had the mushroom korma which was really good and the curry was spiced just right with lots of chunky slices of mushroom in the curry.

They also give you hot water on a cold day which is really thoughtful of them.

On the last visit I got bony chicken and this time they were consistent and gave me bony chicken again.
There was this interesting e-fu noodles in cheese sauce which I thought was going to be same as the lobster and cheese e-fu noodles but without the lobster.
Unfortunately, it turned out disgusting because there was no cheese and it was just e-fu noodles in milk and tasted like vomit, the result of heated milk!
(Milk is a common Chinese substitute for cheese because that’s how they perceive cheese!)

Went here again for lunch and there was not much on the lunch menu to choose from.
The chicken is there everyday, then there was stir fried beef noodles, steamed meat patty, pork chop or fish.
I got the fish because chicken is risky and you might get skin and bones.
The fish was nice and crispy when it arrived so I quickly scraped off the nasty sweetcorn sauce and had it with rice and added chili sauce which tasted good.
The bittermelon soup was really nice because it had a nice bitterness to it and there were pieces of bittermelon that you could eat.

Glad someone has updated openrice with this new eatery.
This joint is owned by Koreans hence I had to speak English to them when I ordered.
Tried the beef bowl which had lots of beef, carrots, onions and sesame.
The food was ok but as with all Korean food, I found it very sweet.

Tried the choi pong hae e-fu noodles which is basically e-fu noodles topped with scrambled egg white that resembles crabmeat.
It was a bit bland and the egg white was too oily for my liking but there was lots of prawn in it.
The noodles were ok but tasteless.

Stir fried glass noodles with fermented beancurd sauce is a really tasty dish.
I have had it so many times in this hidden joint in Wan Chai but not many places serve it in HK.
Came here randomly and the glass noodles with fermented beancurd sauce was on the menu so tried it.
It was quite pricey compared to Wan Chai and the eateries around the area.
When it came, it was a rather tiny portion and I suppose there was quite a fair bit of seafood but mostly frozen with two fake crab sticks (surumi).

Unfortunately the taste was not right because the chili was overpowering and there was not any fragrant fermented beancurd taste.
There were too many chili seeds in the noodles, which I had to spit out and the taste was the typical sweet Hong Kong taste with charred wok aroma.

This joint is always filled with people at lunch.Decided to check it out and the staff were warm and friendly.


The food was ok, the egg was the best.

Egg with prawns and tomato:

The egg was really good because it was light and fluffy but it was different to how I interpreted it to be.

I was expecting prawn and egg in tomato sauce and not fresh cubes of tomato, which didn’t really give it any tomato flavour.

Spicy chicken:


Basically the chicken was chicken bones, chopped up chicken wings and joints that were chunky so it looked like a dish of chicken.

Taste was ok but not spicy enough and it was bit oily.

There are not many curry places in the East side of Hong Kong so this was why we went here.

Apparently, Hin Ho Curry is really famous and serves a good variety of curry.

Started off with Masala poppadoms which were topped with crisp fresh tomatoes and onions that made you hungrier as you ate.

Next we had the samosas which were vegetarian filled with fluffy potatoes and peas.
There is a lamb option as well.

The lamb shank was soft and the lamb came off the bone easily.

For tandoori, there was a good variety ranging from: chicken, lamb, pork neck meat and squid.

My favourite were the squid and lamb.

Overall the food was ok but service can be slow especially during lunch.

They also have other Asian options to cater for everyone.
