Went here randomly as I was captivated by the musubis in the cabinet.
The menu had donburis, bentos, Drinks and desserts.
You will find train windows and models of trains.
There is a train drivers hat near the cashier.

For food, I had the black pasta.
It didn't really say what it was but the whole thing was quite sweet.
The black spaghetti had some crushed chalky stuff which I couldn't work out what it was but it wasn't sesame.
I was told it was peanut butter when I asked.
In the other boxes was a scallop, cream puff, a piece of sweet potato, tamago and Surimi which is imitation crab meat.
The Surimi was too sweet for my liking but the kelp made up for it.
Overall, a nice place to hang out in the afternoons.

Asian Teas

Only tried this drinks joint because they had Singaporean Pandan tea.
They had lots of Asian teas on offer like Indonesian coconut tea, Thai Tea and even gingerbread tea which I believe are made with Monins Syrup.
The taste of the pandan tea was ok but the pandan wasn't strong enough.
The tea base they used was Hong Kong style milk tea which is not my cup of tea, hence the name bittersweet is a good way of describing the taste of the tea.
Sweet with a bitter aftertaste.

Went here randomly after visiting V Walk.
Obviously this place specializes in cart noodles and the broth options were impressive as they had Sichuan etc.
The toppings for the cart noodles was also good as they had more unusual choices such as wine infused egg, cuttlefish beancurd sheet rolls etc.
As a carbs person, I got the chicken rice as well.
The chicken rice was a bit different to the product picture.
I regretted ordering that because the chicken tasted like it had been cooked for days and the rice was too hard.
Luckily the noodles made up for it because the broth was strong and the beef tendons were soft and gelatinous.
I will definitely be back for the noodles.
Not related but the father and of this restaurant is handsome!

Discovered this new restaurant after dining at the restaurant nearby that serves Wedding Noodles.
It is next to the famous liver noodles hence this place is easy to locate.
They serve Fujian delights just like wufuyian nearby but the menu here has English and Chinese with some good pictures.
As I just had a filling dinner at Wufuyuan, I decided to order the soup as shown on the wall and the SUGAR DOES NOT FLICK as stated on the menu.

Old Duck soup:

The soup didn't really have much duck flavour but I tried it because of the cute branch of Chinese olives.

Sugar does not flick:
It looked similar to the picture so no complaints but I didn't realize they were freshly made because they were served hot that I nearly burnt my mouth.
They tasted better cooled down because there wasn't any strange astringent taste in the mochi and you could taste the bean powder better but too sweet for my liking.

Will be back to try the Fujian wontons and noodles.

Fujian food in SSP

There are two new Fujian restaurants in SSP so I decided to check them both out.
Wufuyuan serves the claypot noodles whereas the other one doesn't.

Portions were big and filling.
The claypot noodles which was the star of the show was definitely fab.
It was a huge pot of noodles in a strong herbal broth that is good enough for two and comforting on a cold day.
The only thing that let it down were the pork balls because there was an unpleasant pork taste which lingered in your mouth as soon as you ate it.
Next were the noodles and mini Fujian wontons.
All good but the not as outstanding as the claypot noodles.

Drinks are highly recommended

Discovered this joint when I was dining at the Japanese restaurant a few weeks ago.
The serve Japanese dishes and there is a drinks counter as well.

Nice hand writing.

For food, I had the grilled pork with Japanese egg over rice.
There were so many slices of pork there and the rice beneath it was delicious because there was a hint of yuzu so it was appetizing.

On the side, had the chips with mentaiko mayonnaise.
The mayonnaise was on the sweet side.

For drinks, the oolong tea with tofu and salted milk cap is a must.
It wasn't too sweet yet the tea was strong topped with a lovely thick frothy milk cap which was quite salty.
The salted milk cap really brings their drinks to the next level especially the matcha.
The chocolate banana smoothie was really sweet.
Will definitely get a drink again if I am in the area.
