Originally wanted to order the strawberry smoothie, but since it was sold out, I tried the blueberry one given by the staff. I found it very syrupy so I ordered one without any sugar at all. But for $20 it can be an option as a thirst quencher.
The smoothie is rather thin in consistency compared with the normal ones. Not as thick as it should be. Without the sugar, the yoghurt can be tasted. The colour of the smoothie was quite purple as real blueberries were put in, however they are frozen ones.
I was also given a box of Spanish twirls sprinkled with icing sugar. I didnt like it very much, but then i didnt like it when i was given some to try along while ago.
Firstly it was too sweet, and secondly, u can taste that the oil hasnt been changed.
So a little bit "yik yik day".

[Review 126] Very Satisfying long sub @ Subway
Date reviewed on openrice: 28/05/2008
Going there for lunch was like a food factory production line, choosing ur bread, ingredients, salad and sauces.
I chose the long subway, with turkey and ham, the staff put it neatly on the sandwich.
Next was the salad, i had lettuce, purple onions, tomato, green peppers.
Then the sauces, mayo, honey mustard and mustard.
Tasted really good, the honey mustard sauce was really good, and the onion made it different to other ham sandwiches.

[Review 125] Fit for a Feast @ Xperience
Date reviewed on openrice: 21/05/2008
Located at Lockhart road, this is the last restaurant on the road or first depending on your perspective.
Anyway the restaurant was not particularly full today.
Ordered a set-lunch and a Main dish.
The set-lunch ordered was the two-course lunch with pizza, there is a pizza selection that can be selected from the main menu. So ordered the Italian ham and tomato.
Also ordered a non-set dish: Wanchai bangers (English pork sausage, mash and cranberry sauce).
After waiting for 20 minutes, the salad came, a very basic medley of vegetables and vinaigrette dressing. Then came the drinks.
Then after 10 minutes, the food finally came, the pizza was huge, enough for two people, and personally I think it would be boring to eat for one person.
The Wanchai bangers was impressive, three pork sausages and some veg served on a bed of mashed potato. The best mash I have had so far, it contained mustard seeds in it. The cranberry sauce complimented the rest well too.
As for the pizza, it was a nice thin base, topped with thinly sliced Italian ham and tomato.
We were too full to order the ice cream, which would have made it 3-course, however we saw another table having the ice cream, a big glass with scoops of ice cream, presented nicely too.

[Review 124] Aztec Front @ Maya
Date reviewed on openrice: 20/05/2008
From the streets of wanchai, it stands out amongst the standard pubs; being decorated in black white, almost leopard like pattern.
However the name Maya and the font used, made it look Aztec style, like indiana jones in the lost temple.
After entering, it was a rather modern furnished place, further to the back, there were plush sofa's where people can sit in a circle.
Anyway lets talk about the food:
Ordered fish in creamy white sauce as the main dish, and cottage pie.
Both were four courses, so we were served the soup and salad on on rectangular dish in two square bowls.
The soup was potato soup, light but had potato flavour in it, similar to crisps!!
Not starchy at all.
The thai beef salad was the best, lean cut strips of beef mixed into a bed of mixed garden leaves. The sauce was a zesty tangy lime and garlic sauce.
Then to the main, both reasonable portions, tasted and presented ok.
The cottage pie just tasted like shepherd's pie.
Dessert was caramel pudding or something like that, but there was a light sponge on it soaked in sauce.
All in all, we were very full after that and enjoyed eating there.

[Review 123] juicy chicken satays @ Thai Hut
Date reviewed on openrice 20/05/2009
Ordered chicken satay since it was highly recommended here by the other writers.
As it was for lunch I ordered two, with rice to fill me up, it came with peanut sauce in a little resealable pouch.
The satay was juicy, and not too dry, good enough to eat as a main dish with the rice.
The peanut sauce contained grounded pieces of peanut, not spicy with a sweet flavour.
If the satay was hot it would taste even better, with that flame grilled aroma!

[Review 122] Pink Cactus noodles @ Czen
Date reviewed on openrice: 19/05/2009
Interesting noodles that are made with cactus.
The appearance of the noodles were pink instead of green.
It didn't have any distinctive flavour, but i had it with crabmeat soup.
The soup was very thick, just like the crabmeat soup you get in restaurants.
So basically it was having noodles served in crabmeat soup rather than a watery soup.

[Review 121] Clean place for gai pai dong food @ 通達食店
Date reviewed on openrice: 19/05/2009
I don't normally eat in these places, cos the food is usually dirty.
However this place seems clean, so I gave it a try, I tried their noodles and the fried treasures.
For the noodles, I had vermicelli with spinach fishballs and curry sauce.
Tasted ok.
For treasures, I had:
fishballs, tofu, aubergine, fishcake.
All the treasures are commen and can be found in any place that do them, but the fishcake is rather different. Its a bit like a thin cracker with chewy fish paste and sping onion. So I wud recommend it.
there is another really good place for fried treasures is tsuen wan, but i cant find it on openrice.
