Ok, still havent tried all the Singmalay food, but according to reviewers for Katong, the Laksa isnt that spicy, so I ordered a Laksa today.
Anyway it tasted much better than the one in Jordan.
Firstly the broth was very fragrant in coconut. It had a really creamy coconut taste and wasnt just a sweet taste, it had strong prawn broth in it too.
Secondly they used "mung noodle" which went well with the broth.
The other things such as tofu puffs tasted really good too, as it soaked up the broth.
Ok will come back to try the Prawn Mee and the Spare rib tea.

Sat down in this busy restaurant, and was given a menu.
There were so many choices, I didnt know what to order, ranging from Philipino, Indonesian to Sing Malay.
So I ordered the Nasi Pandeng, a mixture of Pendang chicken, Rendang beef and rice.
When it came, the rice was in the middle of the plate surrounded by a wide variety of sides and the mains. It contained peanuts and anchovies, coconut flat green beans, tofu, Rendang beef, pendang chicken (drumstick).
The set included a pudding, and drink all for $60.
Everything was great, but I would prefer nicer plates, to get rid of that feeling of eating in a HK style cafe.

Yay my favourite Grapefruit series are back..
Grapefruit with aloe jelly, but i ordered the Grapefruit with Harsmar jelly.
Tasted good, a nice cooler for the summer.
Anyway since i dont know what Harsmar is, i searched it on Google,
and it turns out to be Frogs ovaries!!
OH WELL.. TRY if u DARE!

Ordered a cheeseburger, fries and fish burger.
Fish burger: good, tender fish fillets with salad sauce.
Cheeseburger: ok
Fries: nicely fried crinkle cut chips, not too burnt, golden yellow.

[Review 137] Pierce Chicken at TST @ Pierce Chicken

After eating at Central yesterday, I decided to try the TST branch.
Its a little different to central, its not the full menu.
So there were a few things I would have to go back to central for such as the Jumbo Drumsticks, Chicken nuggets, chicken rings erc.
Anyway I ordered the Honey-Dipt fried chicken, basically the staff told me that it was half a chicken, (thigh, drumstick, breast and wing), ahh i was given two pieces of chicken breast and no thigh!! Upper breast n Lower breast. Oh well.
Anyway it tasted ok, nice and crunchy.
I also ordered a mixed basket, as all the finger snack were on trays, it dosnt taste as good as the freshly fried chicken, since it had been done a while ago, not so crunchy,
But anyway a good way to sample most of the stuff.
In the basket were spicy mini nuggets, chicken fries, wingdings and wingzings, and roast wings.
The spicy nuggets r basically black peppered ones.
I was also given a packet of Hidden Valley Dippings, so i chose the Blue Cheese one.
I suppose it was given, cos there was no ketchup like the central branch. I wasnt given any tissue either, so lucky i had tissue with me.

Its fun to eat here, and watch the little birds peck at the rice on the floor.
I usually eat the rice with spare ribs in black bean sauce. The rice is nice and chewy, not too soft. The spare ribs are ok, I am not a big fan, I just like the rice and the black bean sauce.
The place is run by an old man, and now I think his son is helping him to run it.

I have eaten here so many times now, I love their hotdogs and the different toppings you can get.
I usually have Neuremburg sausage instead of the frankfurter, basically its a thin pork sausage similar to the breakfast one.
The owners are very nice, and if you spend over $40 you get a mini charm, if you collect a certain amount of them, you can exchange for a bear. I think there is an extra helper who is a bit annoying, shes like a commander, rushing people to make decisions and sometimes likes to make them in behalf of others.
I think we all know who...if we've met her!!
Anyway back to the food:
Japanese dog:
Ingredients: Bun, sausage, teriaki sauce, seven taste powder, seaweed shreds, black and white sesame, and japanese mayo.
Taste: Very delicious and rich in sauces, so many flavours in one go.
Italian dog:
Ingredients: Bun, sausage, olive oil, herbs, tomato ketchup, cheese, mustard sauce, garlic.
Taste: Tastes a bit like garlic bread since its toasted with garlic butter, I think it would taste better without the mustard, but not bad.
The final two, I cant remember which is which, the cottage dog and the farmhouse dog.
One had egg and mayonnaise, and the other was salad and avocado.
Both delicious.
There are others I want to try, such as the one with lobster meat, and the curry one, but not available on the weekends.
BUT I WILL BE BACK, to eat and collect more Charms!!
