Every time I get food from here, I have my favourites, the strawberry fool, a thick and light yoghurt with chunks of strawberry and rhubarb in it. Then the sandwiches are also good, but this time I had a wrap.
I had the California crayfish wrap, filled wasabi mayonnaise, lemon juice, rocket lettuces and crayfish, and in between the wrap, there was a piece of laver too, so it made it a bit like sushi.
Lastly I had chili con carne soup, not very spicy, but tasted how it should be.

[Review 236] Saint Honore hot foods @ 聖安娜餅屋 (西貢)
聖安娜餅屋 (西貢) Saint Honore Cake Shop
04/01/2009
西貢親民街18/32號錦華大廈地下D舖及閣樓
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/saint-honore-hot-foods-e1963658
Apart from bakery items, Saint Honore also produces hot items such as Chinese buns, Wrapped glutinous rice etc.
When I walked it, the rice in abalone sauce wrapped in Lotus leaves had just been made and put in the steam baskets.
So I ordered one of these freshly made parcels, the parcel was neatly wrapped and tied with those organic twigs.
The rice was moist and lots of egg, dried scallops inside, anyway I think it tasted good, and I want to eat another one soon!

[Review 235] New hot chili nuggets @ 麥當勞 McDonalds

https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/new-hot-chilli-nuggets-e1963655
Saw the advert so had to give it a try, just to see how chili hot and numbing they are.
From the advert, it has bits of chili in the nuggets, and on the actual nuggets the chicken patty inside is slightly pinkish.
With all Mcdonalds ads, I usually expect a visual difference between the actual product and the advertised product.
Anyway the chili nugget tastes like grilled chicken burger that McDonalds also do, which is also has chili powder in it too, but with a crunchy coating. The intensity of the chili is acceptable.

[Review 234] Clams and Cockles @ 泰式燒王 Chai Rung Thai Food

As I know of, this is one of the shops that do fresh cockles, I mean REAL fresh,
while I was eating them, I thought I was seeing them twitch, then after eating half I confirmed they were partly alive when I poked them with chopsticks, it really twitched!!
Despite them being alive, it tasted so good with the chili sauce, and full of cockle juice. (Not every ones cup of tea)
The other two dishes I ordered were also delicious, fried basil leaves and frog meat, and curried clams with roti.
The basil leaves and frog meat reminded me of Chiuchow dishes, where the leaves are fried to a transparent green. The basil leaves were nice and fragrant, and the frog meat had a crunchy outer layer with strong garlic soy sauce.
Finally the curried clams, when it came, the dish was filled with curry sauce, which looked like golden crab yolk, it wasnt very spicy and had a slight tinge of tomato in it.
It it slightly thick in consistency just like starch gravies with strings of egg in it.
The sauce was so good for dipping the freshly made roti, flakey and crispy, and there was so much sauce left over, we ordered an extra roti to finish the sauce.
The only thing I wanted that wasnt available was their native Thai dish (taion), its supposed to be an undeveloped chicken egg without the shell
(泰式雞仔蛋). I just like to try anything, but shame it wasnt available.

[Review 233] Sparkling Clean Cutlery @ 筷子記 Chopsticks Kee

This was one of my priorities to try out, noodles in sauce.
Went here on a Sunday afternoon to avoid the crowd, and ordered instant noodles with satay sauce, and two other snacks to go with it: fried tofu skin and fish rolls with abalone filling. Also ordered two more snacks to go with it, spicy egg and bean curd fish roll.
The spicy egg turned out to be fried egg with curry powder, and the crunchy beancurd skin with fish meat was crispy and tasty.
The noodle was my favourite too, with lots of satay sauce, but next time I think thin noodles would taste better, as the instant noodles have a slight sweet taste to it.
When I was served by drink, I was amazed at the plastic glass cup, it was so clean it looked like brand new, the sides of the glass was shiny, and it was so clean, that droplets could form on the side of the glass shown on the picture.
Even their chopsticks were clean, there was no stickiness on the chopsticks like the other cafes, they were so clean, I took the other chopsticks out to examine, and all of them were just as clean as each other and shiny too!
On leaving the restaurant, I obtained their take-away menu, and even the menu was printed on good quality laminated card, unlike the other single sided menus.

[Review 232] Sunday Roast everyday @ Delaney's Wanchai

灣仔盧押道18號海德中心地下及1樓

This is my regular stop for Sunday lunch any day, roast meat/poultry sliced for you at the carvery.
The roast includes a soup/salad, and a drink. The salad is self service, at the salad bar, ranging from beetroot to potato salad.
As for the roast, it has to be collected yourself, but you can pick and have what ever vegetable you want.
The roast I had that day was turkey, and requested for a Yorkshire pudding too, and lots of gravy.

[Review 231] A hidden secret @ Antique Patisserie

Antique Patisserie

中環擺花街46號地下2號舖
Shop 2, G/F, 46 Lyndhurst Terrace Soho, Central
I have walked past this cafe many times, but I have never been in before, because it just looks like a tiny shop from the outside selling cakes.
Since I was bored that day, I wandered in, and saw the sit in area, so I ordered the Raspberry pistache and breakfast tea. The interior of the shop was cosy and Victorian, like a big dolls house, with wallpaper and white skirting boards.
The tables and chairs were also Victorian, and the tea cups and pot, very English in style.
Anyway the cake tasted lovely, tangy raspberry complimented with nutty sweet pistachio mousse. Garnished with a macaroon, which also tasted sweet, and chewy with bits of nuts in it. The perfect cake was rounded off with a nice cuppa!
