Just felt I should try more Chinese stuff, so tried this place.

The food served is not the normal dishes you would find, so here goes!!! Some were normal, but some needed courage to try such as the snake looking fish skin and the rice with pork oil.

Ordered the preserved egg with green capsicums, scrambled egg white with bittermelon, rice with pork oil and soy sauce, fish skin and stir-fried vegetables.

Preserved egg with capsicums: Neat looking starter, tasted OK.
Scrambled egg white with bittermelon: usually there is egg yolk too, but just egg white tastes good too, the taste is similar to the Shanghai dish crab meat with scrambled egg white.
Fish skin: was a bit hesitant to try, and was also afraid of the fish scales, but it seemed clean enough, although it looked like snake skin. Tasted springy and gelatinous.
Stir-fried vegetables: nothing interesting to mention about them.

Rice with pork oil: hmmm I could only eat one spoonful because the smell of lard makes me vomit, but it did taste quite nice, interestingly served in a bowl that looks like a dog bowl.

After that delicious noodle I had from Ganpachi, I have been on a noodle craving this week, I had Ajisen on sunday, but it was crap, so this time I went to another branch and got my regular Ajisen noodles.
The branch at Polam is interesting, small and cramped, but located openly, you can see and hear people in the mall, since there are no windows or walls segregating it.

Back to the food, the pork chop was a too dry, it seemed if it had been sliced then fried, the meat has been exposed to the oiled and dehydrated. The curry noodles was good, the curry soup was thin and salty, not thick at all.
The soft pork bone and rice was ok, the pork was nice and gelatinous.

The summer season is over, the heat is still here, and I need to KEEP cool with a drink.

Usually I can cool myself with the pink grapefruit and jelly, but now the autumn menu is out, so the pink grapefruit is no longer available.

Anyway I got the melon and lemon jelly and it was better than I imagined, melon has always been savoryish, especially with Parma Ham, but as a drink, it worked well with the sour notes of the lemon.

The only thing that could be improved was their slooooooooooooooooow service, I suspected she didnt know how to use the blender, the fruit at the bottom was blended, while the ice remained at the top was not blended, then she finally realised it after a while and pushed down the ice, and Hey presto! I finally got my drink after waiting for ages!!!!!!!

Got the Rendang beef, basically it was cubes of beef, slightly roasted on the edges and marinated in the curry sauce.

The curry sauce should have been reddish brown too, however it was just the normal green curry colour.

It did not taste like the authentic dish, but I did not have the expectation it would, the rice was slightly too hard, however the food in urban areas general do not taste that good, however the price will be cheaper than in city areas.

Just wanted to celebrate the typhoon so got the chocolate cake.

Just like the angel cake, the chocolate cake is like the angel version, the cake is soft as chiffon, and the cream is rich and light.

Also the chocolate pieces were also supplied in a separate pack to add as a topping.

[Review 416] Typhoon aftermath breakfast @ Burger King 漢堡王 (灣仔)

Thanks to the typhoon, I finally got a chance to try Burger King's breakfast.

I got the sausage croissant with egg and tea, there were other croissants too, all very tempting, egg and ham, egg and bacon!

The croissant was not the real butter croissant, but a half bun, half croissant version to make it easier to eat without flaking everywhere.
The egg was rather bland, and the sausage patty had a strong sage taste, however there where bits of tendons and ungrounded bits. I should have got the ham instead.

Anyway, luckily they had two types of tea, the HK style one or the Western one, so I got the Western one, even though it didn’t taste that good, but finally got the chance to try their breakfast!!

[Review 415] Limited menu @ Ajisen 味千拉麵 (將軍澳)

Went to the Ajisen @ hang hau, however not all the items on the menu were served there.

Next time, I will not go to branded stores in urban areas, they never have the full menu, especially highlighted items or new items.
I wanted to try the fried taro balls, and prawn dumplings, but both were not available.

Ordered the soft pork bone noodles, cold konjac noodles and fried new year cheese cake.

New year cheese cake: nicely done, pale and not over fried.

soft pork bone noodles: tastes how it should, however the pork bone was slightly dry.

Konjac cold noodes: totally different from the picture. the strands were squiggly like twisted elastic bands, but in the picture they appeared like straight cut buckwheat noodles.
As for the texture, tasted like jellyfish, the normal konjac texture.
