Due to the TKO signal failure I was forced to change my travelling plans, so stopped over at Kwun tong for food!

Didn’t feel like going to APM, so went out to the streets and found an alley way with lots of noodle shops, selected this one purely by random, sat down scanning the table for a menu, realised their wasn’t a menu, damm. Then realised it was written on the wall.

The whole situation reminded me of my holidays coming to HK, clueless and lost, as not knowing what and what there was to order, also friggin hot!
There were no pictures either, how helpful!

Ordered pork balls and cuttlefish balls with noodles, and wontons with noodles.

There was nothing special about the cuttlefish balls or pork balls, but the wontons were interesting, when you bite it in half you can see bits of brown stuff in it, my initial guess was grounded wheat, then I saw dark brown sesame seeds in it, so maybe they could have been grounded fried sesame seeds.

Also the whole experience eating there was a slight nuisance, I must have problems with the use of chopsticks, the wontons were firm and hards and perfectly round which made it hard to pick up with chopsticks, also the soup was VERY HOT, so I was fuming!

I gave up using the friggin chopsticks, so I used a toothpick to pick the wontons.

The table sauces were interesting too, I have never seen them at the supermarket, Lychee vinegar! I couldn’t taste any lychee, but tasted refreshingly appetising.

There is a price difference here when you dine in and take out, being more expensive dining in, but still in served in those plastic boxes dining in.

Anyway with the new restaurants opening nearby, there is $2 discount for take out.

Got the chicken steak with Teriyaki sauce, tastes how it should and served with pearl rice.
Whatever choice you order, they always give you a carrot slices and pieces of cabbage.

Last time, tried their noodles, so this time tried their rice, surprisingly it was better than i thought.

I got the fried prawn cake with curry, the curry is the normal Japanese curry with diced carrots and potatoes. If the frying oil had been fresher, it would of tasted better.
There was not much curry sauce, so there could have been more.

The starter was ox tongue in sesame and chili sauce, didn't taste that nice, but it was included in every set.
The soup also spoilt the meal in a way too, because it was strong in msg, leaving a thirst.

The beef hamburger was freshly ground beef patty, very strong in beef fat taste.

As usual they all taste the same, the duck breast was slightly dry, the roast pork was nice and juicy.
Lots of spring onion sauce was given too.
Some places will not bother to give you vegetables, but this place gave plenty of cabbage.
The price was reasonable including a drink.

They usually have a wide range of daily choices, a lot of the choices were salads, and their usual burgers and riblets.

I have had burgers and riblets so many times, so opted for the house made meat sauce with spaghetti.

To improve their turnover speed, the salad and bread was placed at our table before we ordered. Then the soup arrived, my friend asked the waiter what soup it was, he replied "PinkCan" so the rest of us were trying to guess what it was.

It was orange in colour, so we guessed he tried to tell us it was pumpkin, anyway it was funny!

The pasta was a bit bland, not enough sauce, and salt was needed to make it tastier!

I assumed Thai food was only things like chicken rice, meat and rice, pad thai's stir fried flat noodles etc, but I was surprised to see they had pork knuckle rice, it is very similar to the chinese lo shui sauce.

The pork knuckles even had tofu puffs in it!!

The pork knuckles was stewed nicely, an option for those who cant eat food that is too spicy and not Thai food fans.

All their lunches come with a drink for $30.

I eat here almost every week, and yet I havent given it a review

Anyway I go for their lunch sets at $40, and there are so many curries to choose from,
usually I will eat the vegetarian one, usually ordered by native Indians who are vegetarians.

The vegetarian one is also quite good, but I need to add soy sauce to it, especially the spinach and peas one, although the presentation of mashed spinach isn't that pleasing but it does taste good.

I had curry chicken today, and it always tastes consistently good, especially the long grain soft rice. There is lots of chicken in it too.
