I really like KFC, but there are not many branches about, also their queues and efficiency are rather slow.

I discovered that they delivery for a minimum order for $60, which is very easy to reach just from ordering a set meal and a few extra odd bits.

Surprisingly the choice on the delivery section is much bigger than dine in, they had the Japanese mochi taro, exclusive for deliveries, so I ordered that.

The hotline is very easy to call, they take down your address first to ensure they can reach that place before taking your order.
The task of calling KFC is much easier than Pizzahut, the people at pizzahut rush you with your orders and try to promote other items to you.
The staffs at KFC are very patient and detailed with the orders, I didn’t even need to request for chicken leg or thigh, and they will automatically ask you. It seems that only chicken leg and drumstuck are only available for the fried chicken, which is good as chicken breast and wings are a bit dry.

The chicken tasted how it should, not dry or cold.
The mochi taro is worth trying, however I felt there could have been more sauce. Basically it is fried toast, with literally mochi and taro filling inside, slightly chewy with starchy taro in the middle.

As mentioned in my last review I would come back for the cucumber and apple drink.

For some restaurants, the first visit is a bit chaotic, as the menu isnt that clearly laid out, so you order food for the sake of ordering, then after you take away their menu to study, you see things that were better or sets with things that you would of ordered.

Anyway after the first visit, the apple and cucumber tea was one of the things I missed out on their menu, so this time came back for it.

I was very impressed as it was not syrupy or artificial in taste.
The taste of cucumber was more prominent than the apple.

The starter which was white carrot and fish soup was quite good too, the soup was slightly over salty but probably it was meant to be a sauce rather than soup it was over flavoured.

If you've had the Chili beef pizza from Marks and Spencers frozen food section, the Acalpulo pizza from here tastes the same, except with extra sour cream on top.
Crispy pizza base with kidney beans, sour cream, guacamole sauce and beef.
Apart from the pizza, their pasta with clams is also another good choice, spicy chili and pasta tossed in olive oil with crushed garlic.

Had this dinner along time ago, but just found the photos.

Ordered the following:

Firahk Bil Roman: Baby chicken stuffed with apricot, figs, and raisins cooked in pomegranate flavoured sauce.
Very fruity with tender chicken.
Babaganough: Roasted eggplant with tahina and lemon juice
This was nice and tangy, and the texture is unlike eggplant at all, it was so nice I finished it before remembering to take a picture.
Mussaka: Layered slices of eggplant, seasoned minced lamb and vegetables topped with mashed potatoes
This was like a not spicy version of “ma poor kear ji”, the chinese minced meat thing with aubergines.

Got the dinner set with white curry that includes a drink and choice of starters.

The white curry is consistently good as always, so no point describing about it again, although this time the pork chop was slightly over fried and dry.

For starters, got the prawn spring rolls, octopus sweets.

Prawn spring rolls, nothing interesting, just tasted how it should.
Octopus sweets:
Probably called sweets because of the way they are wrapped.
However I thought it tasted better than the prawn spring roll, the tiny rolls contained chopped up octopus, all chewy inside.

As for the drink, they were the usual Taiwanese teas, not too sweet or neither did it have that artificial syrup taste, also there was jelly at the bottom of the drink.

Last time, I didn’t get the set because there were various ala carte items I wanted to try and the Salmon Carpaccio in the set meal was sold out.

This time most of the dishes from the set were available.

Starters: Salmon Carpaccio, Stir-fried string beans, Vietnamese spring rolls
Salmon Carpaccio: it was strong in lime sauce.
Stir-fried beans: nice and spicy with bits of dried shrimp and XO sauce.
Spring rolls: just basically Vietnamese spring rolls.

The laksa and curry tasted consistently good as before.

The dessert was quite nice and creamy.

Another place that was on my try list, but one of those Wan Chai back streets that is in between Causeway Bay and Wan Chai, and numerous little roads you need to cross.

Came on a quiet afternoon, and the waiter asked if we ate there before, and we said no, so he started to introduce the popular dishes there.
I rarely eat pork unless it is fresh, especially pork offal, I came here especially for the boiled pork liver, an item that I consider not really palatable because the texture is hard, bitter and dry.

Ordered the following: liver with new bamboo vermicelli, butterfly pork belly with rice spaghetti, stir-fried pork intestines with salted vegetables, fish maw and pork dumplings.

Liver with new bamboo vermicelli
The vermicelli was a bit different to the new bamboo vermicelli I have had before, the ones here are thick like bean thread noodles.
The liver was excellent, it wasn’t dry or bitter, but when you bit into it, it was like rubbery foam, which melts into thick viscosity.

Butterfly pork and rice spaghetti:
not as tender as beef hang larm.

Pork and fish maw dumplings:
better than expected, the pork was fresh and fully flavoured so it didn’t have that smelly over night pork taste.
Usually I don’t agree cooking seafood with red meats, but this one was ok, the pork was well flavoured and the fish maw melted in the dumpling making it gelatinous.
As with all dumplings, I felt there was too much skin, so I ate the edges dumpling with their homemade sauce.

The sauce they provided was quite nice, fully flavoured with chopped chill’s with soy sauce.
The soup base was the same for all dishes, but I felt it tasted like cooked rubber.

As for the stir-fried intestines, it was another HOT dish, the texture of the intestines was like fish maw, but chewier and fatty. Although I considered them to be relatively clean compared with other places, there was still a slight intestine odour.
