As expected, the food was bland, so needed Soy sauce, they are better off at making cakes!~

I would have thought they used Maxims MX as a caterer, but it dosnt seem so.

However their soup was amazing, the spinach soup and the chowder soup, both were excellent

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Spring garden lane, is a very busy road with narrow pavements, it is one of the streets to access Hopewell and the offices at Queens Road East. Not only is the pavement constantly a path for pedestrians the constricted road is also busy with cars too. It’s a fight between people and traffic.

As we all know [Easy drink easy go] is a popular shop for drinks, people will be willing to queue for it, which is bound to cause chaos on a small road like that.
Currently people are beginning to walk on the roads too, as the pavement can only fit one person in one direction, and especially if they are slow walkers, you just have to over take them!~!

Now [Easy drink easy go] is there, people will need to battle against other pedestrians to buy their drinks, and after paying for it, they will need to wait where waiting space is limited.

I can imagine the people waiting for drinks and people trying to get their drinks, pedestrians, cars are going to cause a huge hold up at Spring garden lane, just like a tiny blood clot causing a stroke!!

Anyway, I went there late evening to avoid the daytime madness, the drinks options is much bigger than when they first opened in Dundas Street, there are more options to add in the drink too.
They now have fruit tea too with bits of fruit in it. The items that can be added to the drinks are: big pearls, mini pearls, grass jelly, cheung fun (fat strands of chewy jelly), aiyu jelly, wheat, konjac jelly, crystal jelly, cream, mango cream, aloe vera, nata de coco, red beans, caramel pudding

For my drink, I got the hazelnut latte with extra cream and strands of jelly.
I did not know it was latte until I searched the Chinese for it, it didn’t taste of coffee, but strong in hazelnut. The extra cream just made it smoother, and it didn’t have that milk powder taste, the taste was very natural rather than artificial. Also the jelly strands were slightly chewier than I would have liked. The sweetness at 30% was slightly too sweet, but that is the least sweet you can ask for.
Degrees of sweetness they offer: 100%, 50%, 30% 0.

Apart from drinks they also do sweet dumplings: taro and sweet potato, and for savory snacks they have chips with plum powder, luckily I didn’t get the chips as it looked like a big portion, also they are potato wedges rather than proper chips.

As there was not many people, the service was very good, I added many things to my drink, which was too long to show up on their internal screen. The staff spotted that something was missing before she gave it to me, and fixed it before giving it to me. She was quite friendly and said my drink was rather expensive from adding lots of other things to it, anyway as long as it tastes good, it is worth paying extra.

It is also helpful that they displayed their drinks on the counter, people can see the different add ons you can have without having to ask.

Another place I wanted to try a while ago, located near AJ’s Sri Lankan restaurant, this is a fairly small restaurant with 4-5 tables.
Ordered their breakfast and a Philippine dish.
The Philippine dish is the usual skewered meats with sweet sauce served with rice and diced vegetables. I think the diced vegetables are the frozen ones from the supermarket.
The breakfast was ok, however the sausages were not that hot, and the tomatoes still had their stalks on.
In general the food is ok, but they do not accept credit card, which is a bit of a nuisance as the nearest cash machines is quite a walk, and further if you are not a local.
Although the restaurant is set out as western cuisine, they actually specialize in Philippine food with a special page for Philippine food.
Price for the food there is reasonably cheap.

As Mandalay mentioned the savoury selection was impressive, for the sweet selection there was a variety of cakes, scones and freshly made waffles and pancakes.
The food was good, but their room freshener was awful, it had a nasty scent that put me off and made me dizzy.
Scones: nice little scones, plain and raisin, with cream and jam spread.
Sandwiches: smoked salmon, ham and cheese.
Mini buns: cute little buns with prawns, salami.
The rest I cant remember, however their service was a bit poor, frowning at people who do not have a platinum card.
The first reaction was  then after presenting the platinum card the reaction was

This is one of those restaurants that taste good all the time.

Ordered two starters: deep fried cubic tofu, salmon carpaccio, grilled set.

Deep-fried cubic tofu: This was the best, because I was expecting a crunchy skin, and nothingness inside, but it amazed me because it was tasty and chewy inside, like cheese. The tofu used was “thousand layer tofu” (千葉豆腐, 凍豆腐 or 冰豆腐), not usually fried, but in this case, it worked out very well.
If the sauce was served separately it would have been better, as the sweet and sour sauce didn’t match it as well as the salt and pepper one.

Salmon carpaccio: The portion was small, but tasted ok, about 4 pieces of salmon.

The grilled set included onion soup and a drink, in the general it tasted good. The beef patty was very beefy in taste.

[Review 673] KFC rules with Japanese Taro Mochi @ 肯德基家鄉雞 (KFC) Kentucky Fried Chicken

I really like KFC, but there are not many branches about, also their queues and efficiency are rather slow.

I discovered that they delivery for a minimum order for $60, which is very easy to reach just from ordering a set meal and a few extra odd bits.

Surprisingly the choice on the delivery section is much bigger than dine in, they had the Japanese mochi taro, exclusive for deliveries, so I ordered that.

The hotline is very easy to call, they take down your address first to ensure they can reach that place before taking your order.
The task of calling KFC is much easier than Pizzahut, the people at pizzahut rush you with your orders and try to promote other items to you.
The staffs at KFC are very patient and detailed with the orders, I didn’t even need to request for chicken leg or thigh, and they will automatically ask you. It seems that only chicken leg and drumstuck are only available for the fried chicken, which is good as chicken breast and wings are a bit dry.

The chicken tasted how it should, not dry or cold.
The mochi taro is worth trying, however I felt there could have been more sauce. Basically it is fried toast, with literally mochi and taro filling inside, slightly chewy with starchy taro in the middle.

As mentioned in my last review I would come back for the cucumber and apple drink.

For some restaurants, the first visit is a bit chaotic, as the menu isnt that clearly laid out, so you order food for the sake of ordering, then after you take away their menu to study, you see things that were better or sets with things that you would of ordered.

Anyway after the first visit, the apple and cucumber tea was one of the things I missed out on their menu, so this time came back for it.

I was very impressed as it was not syrupy or artificial in taste.
The taste of cucumber was more prominent than the apple.

The starter which was white carrot and fish soup was quite good too, the soup was slightly over salty but probably it was meant to be a sauce rather than soup it was over flavoured.
