I know it is meant to be black forest cake, but the fact it had blueberries instead of cherries, I am calling it a blue forest cake!
The sponge was too light and crumbly, not spongy at all.
The whole cake was not firm, and it didnt really taste like black forest cake.

[Review 828] Cheese rice rolls @ 海皇粥店 Ocean Empire Food Shop

When I saw their promotional poster, I just had to try it, they reminded me of those round fried Japanese mochi/rice cakes with the cheese in the middle and glutinous filling.

Basically it is rice roll rolled with cheese inside coated with batter and fried.

It tastes quite similar to the japanese mochi cake, however there is less glutinous filling replaced by the chewy mozarella cheese.
The cheese taste wasnt that strong, and the sauce that came with it was the Japanese mayonnaise, making it taste even more like that Japanese rice cake.

I would have preferred it if they used a different cheese, mozarella only has a chewy texture but no taste.
It is quite worth trying, and something that is quite different to the usual rice rolls.

[Review 827] Nice interior @ 華康餐廳 Wah Hong Restaurant

Very similar to the Tsui Wah restaurant, food and interior, but this place is nicer, it even has a private room walled by glass, so you can get some peace and quiet without being out of sight from the waiters.

Got the instant noodles, macaroni, and beancurd sheets in soup.

Instant noodles:
The noodles was actually flavoured by the broth which was surprising.

Macaroni:
The macaroni was slightly too mushy and floury.

Beancurd sheets in soup:
The beancurd sheets were nice and soft, however they tasted weird.
It was so strong of soy beans, it actually tasted like Vitasoy milk.

[Review 826] wheres da chicken @ 雞記潮州麵食 Kai Kee Noodle

The shop is called chicken something in Chinese, so I thought they specialized in chicken or had chicken related dishes.
It turns out to be chiu chow cuisine.
Ordered noodles with fried cuttlefish balls with seaweed, and fried olive and meat roll.

All the food was good, but not memorable.
I felt that it was slightly overpriced because the food was just noodles, fish balls which is inexpensive.

Anyway the fried meat roll with olive was nice, although the olive wasnt strong, it was a bit like a spring roll with beancurd skin.
The sauce that went with it, was garlic vinegar, I would have preferred chili sauce , ketchup or sweet and sour sauce.

The cuttlefish balls were good as they were different, the cuttlefish balls had seaweed in it.
Ordering the cuttlefish balls in soup is also recommended because the balls would be softer whereas the ones I had were fried.

[Review 825] Amazing unimaginable gelato flavours @ Milkissimo (Hokkaido Hakodate Gelato Da 41'N)

I was attracted to this place purely by the name, it sounded fun and cute, and then I checked out its website which was even better, it gives you the snowy winter feeling.

Apart from that, its logo and colours are nice and cool too.

Its name Milkissimo reminds of Meiji’s Melty kiss, and since its an ice-cream, milk is the main ingredient too and cleverly combined in the name.

I was looking forward going there, because there were so many flavours offered, my picks were: blood orange, chocolate orange, purple sweet potato, hazelnut chocolate, rare cheese with fruit, vegetarian cheese with fruit, yogurt and fruit, green soybean, sweetcorn, pumpkin, hascup (beer berry),
northern black bean, pudding, white chocolate fruit. Zabaione (Italian dessert made with egg yolks, sugar, a sweet wine), catalano cream, macedonia, Zuccotto, pastry cream sponge, baba and applepie.

Even if some of the flavours sound unfamiliar, the variety is amazing.

However when I got there, there were only about 10 flavours, the basic flavours that people would order, eg chocolate, green tea, yogurt etc.

As expected the interior did not let me down, it was pure white, with the “Milkissimo” logo covered in silver glitter.
I got three flavours: chocolate and hazelnut, yoghurt, and soft cheese with honey.
Soft cheese was the best, it tasted like cheesecake, as for the hazelnut and yogurt, the texture was a bit icy and slushy rather than milky.
The yoghurt tasted like Yakult, the typical Japanese yogurt taste.

I shall look forward to it when they have the complete range, hopefully, they will.

Got this drink because of the slim bottle with the cork stopper.

Tasted very faint of almond and more watery than milky.

Costs $12 per bottle, $10 per cup.

I was initially hesitant in trying this drink because of Rosehip, but it tasted really nice.
The drink had bits of tomato in it, without the tomato puree.
It was slightly syrupy, but not too sweet.
