As usual, BK tastes how it should.

This time I got the French chicken sandwich which is a similar variation to the BK in UK.

It is a long shaped sandwich with wafer thin ham, grilled chicken, and sauce, however the bun is not a maize topped one.

The drink I got was the summer pink grapefruit, made from Grapefruit cordial behind the counter.
Overall the grapefruit drink was very refreshing, the other new drinks included chocolate mocha and mango.
All had the corresponding cordials at the bank which reminds me of flavour milk at school.

[Review 849] Is it going to stay for good @ 肥牛粉 Pho Delight Vietnamese Cuisine

Previously this used to be a Singaporean restaurant Pasar, then it closed down, next came Satay City which didnt stay for long and now PHO DELIGHT.

I can imagine it being busy for lunches, but after office hours, Wan Chai is not a likely place for dinner.
There is also another branch in Causeway Bay which would probably fare better being in a shopping and working location.

The menu basically offers noodles in soup, the usual rices, however the prices are a bit expensive for simple noodles.
I ordered ho-fun with prawns in sour soup, it was basically noodles in tangy sauce with a few prawns on top, and pieces of pineapple, tomato.
The soup was quite acidic, and the ho fun was a bit too soft, but overall it was ok, so lets see how long they will be here for.

The other spicy beef noodles were very spicy, it was so spicy, you could feel the heat of the chilli when you smell it,
Taking a tiny sip of the soup, was enough to make me go red!

I wanted to try the grilled beef, but the sour soup sounded more interesting, so if they are still here on my next visit, I shall give it a try.

[Review 848] Kudzu and fig health drink @ 原味家作 Original Taste Workshop

I like figs so got this drink, its weird they have this ingredient in HK, since it is grown in middle eastern parts of the world.

Anyway, the main ingredients in this drink are Kudzu vine and fig, but according to the ingredient label it also contains: pear, sugar cane, licquorice, logan, red jujube and sugar.

When you drink it, there is a strong Kudzu grassy taste and then the sweetness of the fig, initially it wasnt that syrupy, then getting through half the bottle it got more sugary.
It was nice, but I would have preferred it sugar-free and perhaps just plainly Kudzu and fig without the other ingredients.

Ordered the beetroot juice with cucumber and celery, it was nice and healthy without the sugars, however the beetroot could have been better cleaned, cos there was bits of beetroot skin and earth residue at the bottom of the cup.

The only thing that wasnt good, was the shop was on a busy road with smokers and traffic everywhere, so while detoxifying yourself you are also consuming pollutants by smokers n traffic.

[Review 846] Fish noodles @ 新樂園魚蛋粉

The menu was basic, it doesnt offer much, the noodles available were only ho fun, vermicelli and fish noodles.

As there was not much to choose, I chose the noodles made of fish.
It is basically fish balls in noodle form, but more flour in the process of making it.

The noodles had flour covering it, so it was a bit slimey.
It tasted like fishballs with strong MSG, and there were not many brittle bones in it, which was good.
The soup which claims to be cooked with fish bones, didnt taste that good, it was just strong MSG.

Got two products from "Tang Shun Hing" packaged exclusively for 7-11.

Although they are designed to be heated up and eaten at 7-11, it proves to be messy and a sticky task.
The contents of the food are packed in a vacuumed sealed bag, with a plastic tray and a pair of gloves,
you need to open the inner bag, empty the contents into the dish and simply microwave it.

Hence very troublesome to carry out at your local 7-11, and also the tray is not really deep enough.

I got the Lo Shui purely because it was pre-packaged, it horrifies me to get them from restaurants just hung by the windows with oil dripping off and flies buzzing around them.

The Lo Shui mix contains duck wings, ducks feet, ducks liver, ducks gizzard, and peanuts, and the spring roasted chicken was just half of a spring chicken.
I thought it would be a whole chicken, but it was just half a bird.

After microwaving it, it was ready to eat.

The Lo Shui mix was quite nice, although for the ducks feet and wings, it only contained one piece each.
All of the items were quite soft, except for the duck’s liver, which I was quite looking forward to, it probably got dehydrated during the heating process.
The gizzards, which I do not usually eat, were the best that I have had, the texture was a bit like baby pork shanks.
They were evenly sliced, not looking like shriveled up gonads from Chinese medicine places.
The only thing that let it down was the saltiness of all the lo shui items.

As for the spring chicken, it just tasted ok.

[Review 844] Expect what you would expect from yue mic ka @ 香格格酸辣米線

Basically from the interior and menu layout it reminds me of Yue Mic Ka.

After ordering food, we discovered that this place is part of Yue Mic Ka.

However, this place specialises in noodles mainly, so there are less choices, although they do offer the noodles made of red potato.

The potato noodles look like a glass noodles, but thicker with a brown tint.
Its texture is very chewy and tasteless, a bit like the glass noodles at MisoCool.

The liver was bitter and overcooked.
