Since the snowy mooncakes were introduced, they have much improved,
the earlier ones didnt have so many flavours, and they were overly sweet.
Most were made with mung bean paste which was nasty.

I chose black forest and apple pie crunch after checking they did not contain mung bean paste.

There are two apple ones, fuji apple crunch and the apple pie crunch,

The product shot of the apple pie crunch appears to be brown and chocolately in the middle however when it was cut open, it was just sandy brown.
The apple pie crunch was a bit too sweet and strong in cinnamon, I wish there were more bits of apple in it too.

The blackforest tasted nicer, with berry filling in the centre.

Overall the mooncakes are ok, but the full list of flavours are not listed on their website.
I am a bit surprised in this technological generation, their website it not fully up to date with the latest promotions, this was not the first case I couldnt find their lastest products, last time i tried to look up their new tea drink from MX, it wasnt on their website either.

Anyway, since the website was not very up to date, I decided to take a picture of the flavours, because their crappy leaflet dosnt list all the flavours either.

I was told no photos were allowed, but this is stupid, they obviously do not want more people to know about their products.

[Review 862] Bakery @ La Creation de Gute

This shop has nice chandeliers, but the bakery range is a bit limited.
Got the Brazilian chicken which was crescent shaped bread with chicken inside.
The bread was quite tough, and tasted like pizza.
As for the egg and cheese toast, it was just egg salad inside.

[Review 861] Needs to be more memorable @ La Memory

If it hadn't been for Saizeriya, I probably wouldn't have noticed it.
The shop was not well lit, so I had the impression it was a boutique for clothes.
The name sounds French with the "La" but Memory is clearly not French,
but I am not to comment as people can use what ever names they wish.
The shop was empty when I walked in, I enjoyed the undisturbed moment to look at the cakes freely to decide what to get.
I got the tofu and chocolate mousse cake and the hazelnut and chocolate mousse cake.
Both cakes were made with chocolate cake, the tofu one was sandwiched between layers of tofu mousse, and the hazelnut with hazelnut mousse.
Both were decorated differently to be distinguishable.
They were both nice and light and not to sweet. however the tofu one was slightly creamier.

[Review 860] American mix @ Ruby Tuesday

American mix
Ruby Tuesday (銅鑼灣)
Was there for a light lunch, so ordered a mini trio, and a "build your own sampler".

Ruby Tuesdays are famous for crab cakes, so I ordered the mini trio which includes a crab cake in one of the mini burgers.

Mini trio:
Cute buns with a side of fries, the fries were a bit dry, but were nicely spiced up with black peppar.
The mini burgers were cute, but not as tiny as the dinky ones at Shakem Buns.
I liked the crab cake one most, although the patty was a bit loose.

Build your own sampler:
I chose chicken wings, chicken strips, Breaded shrimp and broccoli cheese poppers
The only let down was the chicken wings which tasted a bit plain.
The chicken strips were tender and juicy, and tasted exactly like the strips at Pierce.
As for the breaded popcorn, they tasted like the ones at Bubba gump.
The cheese poppers were nicely done, not overfried, with gooey cheese oozing out with bits of broccoli, that too reminded me of the ones at "Toppings".
It was like having a collection of snacks from different places.

[Review 859] Earl Grey chiffon cake @ 美心西餅 Maxim's Cake Shop

Amongst the green Pandan Cakes, I saw some antique brass coloured ones, initially I thought they were probably coffee, then I was amazed to find out they were Earl Grey flavoured.

It was impressive that Maxims have done research on current flavours.

Earl grey flavours I have come across so far, earl grey yogurt at Berrygood, earl grey chocolates at Cha.ke.li, earl grey scones at Antique Patisserie, earl grey Swiss rolls at Roll, earl grey and taro cake at Vero and earl grey pudding at Cherry garden,

It appears that from the list above, Earl Grey is targeted more on western cuisines and the higher end of the market, so I was surprised when I saw it at Maxims just like the Pandan flavour.
Especially with Maxim's being the local bakery that everyone can afford.

I think it would probably sell better at hong kong branches and not so well in rural areas, so it makes sense that not all branches of Maxims have it.
I tried to get it at two mtr branches but they didnt stock it.

As for the cake, its texture is like the pandan one, but less greasy.
There is a fresh smell of earl grey with a hint of lemon and bits of earl grey tea leaves in the cake too.

Not much customer service there, the cashier particular, another money scavenger!

The pin noodles were hard and tasteless.

[Review 857] Nice food, but super annoying staff @ 紅嚐坊 Red Moment Coffee Express

Previously this shop used to be 紅磨坊 Moulin Rouge Coffee Express, it never got my attention, and the menu was confusing.
However after it had been renamed, it fared much better and they had a branch in Tsuen Wan, but closed down, and also have a website too.

The sandwiches are good in the sense that they simple because there are extra sauces in it that spoil it.
The salad was good, but spoilt by the sauce, bit too sweet.
As well as sandwiches, the croissant and scones taste good.
Although the food is tasty, you can see that it is just cheap ingredients like artificial crabsticks, canned sweetcorn and cheap hams.

The only thing, I didn’t like was the staff, the woman is such a scav for money and PRETENDS to be efficient, trying to suggest items for you as well as trying to serve the whole queue rushing people for their orders and taking cash at lightning speed. Money money money!!

Improvements: I felt that all of their sandwiches should be kept in the refrigerated cabinet rather out in the sun and heat.
