This restaurant seems to be called "big bridge" in Chinese, and upon entering the restaurant there is a mini bridge before you go in.

Anyway, went there for the all you can eat buffet at $198 per person, the range dosnt offer much but at least ALL of the items are AVAILABLE, even foie gras unlike that Urawa restaurant in Wan Chai.

SASHImI/SUSHI section:
Handrolls: minced fatty tuna, salmon, crab roe salad, squid and crab roe, eel.
Sashimi: tuna, salmon, snapper.
Sushi: yellow tail, squid, squid tentacles, sweet shrimp, salmon, sush.
Maki: Tuna, Salmon and California rolls.

SALAdS/VEG: green salad, crab roe salad, stir fried vegetables, edame beans.

FrIED items: prawn, oysters, fish fin, wasabi dumplings, vegetable tempura,

GRILLeD items: scallops, foie gras, squid, wasabi dumplings, beef, snapper fillet, salmon, sole fish, beef rolls, beef rolls with enoki, beef rolls with kimchi, beef roll dumpling, fish cake, octopus balls. smoked duck breast, japanese burger steak.

SKEwERS: chicken skin, pork neck, and chicken.

RICE/NOoDLES: fried rice, udon in soup.

DESsERT: ice cream (green tea, sesame, adzuki beans), cake of the day.

CuSTOMER SERvICE:
Overall, the customer service was good, the tea was constantly refilled, probably because they charge more but comparing it to other all you can eat Japanese places, they cost around $198 per person.
The tea provided was slightly strange, because it wasnt green tea, but tasted like Pu Erh, the earthy type.

FoOD:
The grilled beef was the best, but then they are famous for their thinly grilled beef with fillings inside them.
Grilled chicken skin was interesting, however I would have preferred them fried and crispy.
Dumplings had that extra touch to it, as they put wasabi in them.
The foie gras was slightly too oily, but ok.
The fish fish tempura was my favourite, it wasnt greasy at all, slightly too sweet, but it was crunchy and chewy at the same time.
The cake of the day tasted a bit weird, it tasted of some flower, possibly rose.

There was a complimentary salad too with conch meat, it was a scoop of mashed potatoes with lots of shredded vegetables mixed together.

Missed the chicken curry cheese burger, so this time decided to try the Oyaku rice burger, which is basically chicken and egg in the middle.
Tasted ok, but a bit sweet for my liking.
The milk tea which I ordered contained lemon slices, which would make the milk curd when I poured the milk in.
Its weird! who puts lemon slices in milk tea!!
Anyway told them about the lemon slices, and got a fresh cup without.
The fried chicken was over done.

Havent been to Tony Roma's for a while, so decided to go for lunch.

I used to go to the branch at Times Square, where the ribs were soft and came off the bone easily.

For the set lunch, got the mini steak burgers, the steak was really good and the mustard that came with it was ok, but the buns were Chinese!
The salad was quite asian, but it still tasted ok.
The pumpkin soup was too sugary for my liking.
As for the salmon and fries, that fared average.
The beans were just BBQ beans.
The lunch came with a drink, so I ordered tea, however the water wasn't that hot, so the teabag didn't really infuse into it, the waiter must have overheard, so offered a fresh cup of tea.

I have always liked the fish burger, so I tried the new Sakana supreme.

The fish filet is about 1.5 times bigger than the filet o fish sandwiched in a maize bun.

The taste of the new burger tasted exactly the same as McDonalds chicken burger, because the sauce strikingly tastes the same except there are lots of sesame seeds in the sauce.

As well as that, they have put cheese in it as well.

I think if it was chicken it would taste much nicer, because the fish filet was slightly tasteless.

I also had the salted grilled chicken wings, however the grilled BBQ ones tasted better.
The taste of the chicken wings was very chinese style.
Maybe they should have grilled curry wings next!!!

[Review 872] Bird's nest treat @ 官燕棧

Bird's nest is such a popular delicacy for the chinese including claimed health benefits, its so strange that not many reviews have been written solely on Bird's nest, although there have been reviews on items that contain bird's nest ie egg tarts.

For less than $200 dollars, this gift set of bird's nest comes with a small box of dried fish maw.
To be precise the set was priced at $179.

Basically the box contains 5 bottles of birds nest, it was labelled "unsweetened" even though the label states there are slight flavourings in it.
I was slightly disappointed as it was flavoured, because I wanted to taste it in its most natural form.
Luckily the sweetness wasn't sweet, its colour was golden orange, almost if it was artificially coloured too!

I consumed it as a drink, most of the contents was liquid with pieces of bird's nest.
The texture of the bird's nest bits reminded me of Hasma, and there were some chewy bits too which was like chewing on meat strands.

[Review 871] Orange and butter cookies @ Crabtree & Evelyn The Tearoom

Nice elegant packaging that contains orange butter cookies inside the rolled cardboard tin.

Each cookie is thin in thickness, however its texture is like a cross between a shortbread and a cookie, less of a crunch.

The cookie contains alot of orange peel in it, and has a jaffa taste rather than citrus flavouring which complements the buttery flavour.

On the aftertaste, there was a slight mintyness to it.

Other cookie flavours include all butter hazelnut, chocolate, lemon, breakfast, oat and cranberry, strawberry and cream, white chocolate and raspberry, shortbread.
Although not all the flavours may be available in HK.

Was given them, not that I would buy the traditional types, but anyway gave it a try.

Nice packaging, and the size was appropriate.

The finishing to the mooncake was good, the imprints to the pastry were clear and gave a clean cut from the knife.

As a vegetarian mooncake, it was less greasy, so it wins over the other traditional ones,
and it was not cloyingly sweet either.
Even though it is not something I like, but there were a few good points for this mooncake.
