Came here to try their famous hot dogs, they are very cheap at $10, and $12 for two sausages.

I wanted compare the hot dog here and the hot dog at Denmark bakery, I was expecting the one at Denmark to taste better but I felt that the one here tastes much nicer.

Both these hotdogs are Hong Kong style hotdogs with mayonnaise.

If they had English on the menu, I would have ordered the hotdog with double sausage, and it would have tasted better too!

Overall breakdown of the hotdog:

Bun:
Fresh, warm and soft, and didn’t collapse when held.
It is a normal bun, not those horrible chinese sweet buns or the ones glazed with egg white or topped with sesame.

Sauce:
Its aroma and taste was sweet on impact, it was fairly generous and there were pieces of gherkins in it.
The taste had a vanilla base in it, it tastes like a mix of chinese mayonnaise, chopped gherkins and the famous HK condensed milk.
If I had ordered the double sausage, there would be less sweetness in it.

Sausage:
This was surprisingly good too, the sausage was grilled and the skin was wrinkly, yet inside the sausage was piping hot and soft and juicy.
The texture reminded me of a chipolata sausage, and the taste was really nice.
The sausage skin and meat was slightly separable rather unlike usual frankfurthers.
The only drawback was the sausage was too small for the bun, it was mostly eating the bun until you got to parts where the sausage was present.

Wing Lok HD vs Denmark HD

Bun: the bun at WL was much nicer, the Denmark one was too crispy for my liking.
Sauce: the sauce at WL was a winner, there was more, but not my cup of tea.
Sausage: WL was definitely the winner, because the one at Denmark was salty and chalky, the Denmark one felt like it had grounded shell in it.

Although, Chinese hot dogs are not really my cup of tea, WL is definitely a winner for the two.
I would have preferred simple ketchup and mustard.

As well as the hotdog, I also ordered chocolate tea, I wanted to ordered the instant noodles with bitter melon.
Their noodles and afternoon sets are quite pricey, prices ranging from $41+

The chocolate tea tasted nothing as nice as the real instant packaged Lipton choc tea.
It tasted like hong kong tea mixed wtih milo powder, definatley not my cup of tea, but i suppose it is slightly better than normal HK tea as I managed to drink more than one sip.

Came here to try their famous hot dogs which was very cheap at $13 with two sausages.
I wanted compare the hot dog here with the hot dog at Wing Lok, however I was expecting the one at Denmark to taste better but it didn't.

Both these hotdogs are Hong Kong style hotdogs with salad cream.

Overall breakdown of the hotdog:

Bun:
The top of the bun was crispy, and the bun tasted sweet.

Sauce:
This was the most disappointing aspect, there was virtually no sauce, it was so dry and there was no cheese.

Sausage:
This tastes like the typical hot dogs sold in the supermarket, chinese style, with a very gritty texture.

When I first saw the restaurant name, I assumed it was Vegetarian until I saw pictures from the review.

However, they serve very fine dishes under the all you can eat menu.

There was so much choice, ranging from carpaccio's, fried items, western dishes to cheese fondue.

There is also a salad bar.

[Review 966] V8 vs Red Moment Coffee Express hotdog @ V8美食軒

Both hotdogs served at V8 and Red moment are HK style hotdogs, however at V8, you can see how overloaded with salad cream it contains, similarly the HK cafes for some weird reason like to add tomato and cucumber slices to it.

Anyway, the winner is Red moment because it contains tomato ketchup and mustard which dosnt taste so weird, also the hotdog is hot rather than cold.

[Review 965] Apple ring @ Beard Papa's

Since Saveur de France closed down, I never got to try the upscale Paris Brest in the end, saw a similar looking one here so ordered it.
The cream inside was custard, very thick and cold. The pastry itself was very crunchy and slightly hard, not choux like at all.
I thought there was nothing special about the Paris Brest, it just tasted like their usual cream puffs but in a bigger form of the cruller ring.
The star of the show was actually the apple ring, it was like an apple danish but in ring form, with evenly distributed pieces apples in the middle, so every bite was an even amount of pastry and apple.
It was evenly glazed and smelt very buttery when heated up. It tasted like Starbucks apple caramel drink.
There is a Beard papa' branch in the UK too, but in central London.

[Review 964] McD's golden fish deluxe burger @ 麥當勞 McDonald's

Was attracted to the new golden fish deluxe burger by McDs primarily because the cheese was embedded with pieces of chili in it.
It reminds me of the cordon bleu that I had at the McDs in UK, the cheese was marbled with blue bits, garlic and herbs.

The Fish Deluxe by McD’s is a long shaped fish burger on top of cheese, covered with tomato slices, lettuce and the honey and mustard sauce.
It was certainly an improvement compared to the Sakana.
However the portion of cheese could have been more generous, it was one piece of cheese cut into two smaller rectangular pieces.

As well as the burger, I was looking forward to the phone straps, however they were much bigger in size than anticipated, hence it wasn’t cute, but the box for the set was about 2.5 times bigger than the normal burger box.

Overall, I liked the golden fish deluxe in comparison to the Sakana, however it would taste better if there was more cheese.

This burger is bigger than the filet of fish, yet the amount of cheese was still the same.
The sauce was nice, the special edition of honey and mustard that is for the chicken nuggets.
However it failed to bring out that fishiness taste that the filet o fish does.

It looked 70% like the product shot, except the chilli pieces in the cheese were not that visible.

[Review 963] Fish filet soft roll @ 肯德基家鄉雞 Kentucky Fried Chicken

When I saw the TV ad for this burger it instantly reminded me of the fish burger at Triple O's because it has a wedge of lemon on top.

Triple O's
http://www.openrice.com/restaurant/commentdetail.htm?commentid=2006725
However the one at Triple O's has a batter coating, and the KFC version is flour coated, similar to the fried chicken but lighter.

Price is evidently cheaper from KFC.
As for the taste, the fish was very nice on its own, the spices was quite subtle, however the fish was too soft.

The sauce in the burger ruined it for me, it was the typical Chinese salad cream/mayonnaise that was just sweet and made everything tasteless.
All I could taste was the sauce, and the bun and fish went tasteless because of it, I could taste some lemon from the lemon wedge that I used.

The fish could have been firmer, but it was falling to pieces, also the whole burger itself was rather cold.

For the rice set with fried fish, it is quite a good deal, because it included the maple tart.
