Saw this on promotion for $6 so gave it a try.
Overall it was quite nice after I diluted it because it was too sweet.
There was some jelly at the bottom.

After searching for "black sugar" on the internet, I couldn't find any official information on it, all the search results came up with brown sugar.
The only sites that had it was Taiwanese and Japanese sites.

Dicken’s bar reminded me of The Canny Man when I went down the stairs.
I came to this place especially for the Indian curry buffet, which is sadly only available on weekdays.
Surprisingly even on a Monday there were many reservations.
Set out like the typical gastropubs in Hong Kong, they also had carriage seating similar to the Canny Man, but I felt the carriage seating at the Canny Man was done up nicer.

The staffs there were very attentive and the patrons were well dressed.
The lunch buffet costs $168 per person including a soft drink.
It has the usual salads and breads.

The soup of the day was Beef Goulash.
Similar to Delaney’s they had a carvery there with roast potatoes.
As well as curry I was there for the Fish and Chips, the chips need to be specially requested.
The chips were not bad, crisp and golden on the outside and liquid in the middle.
The curry was good as expected with the accompanying naan breads, raita, cucumber sauce and yogurt.
There was my favourite tandoori chicken and pakora.
The beef goulash soup was really good too, it tasted like chili con carne with juicy beef cubes in it.
The Indian tomato soup was nice with a hint of spice.

Dessert was also good too. I wish I had tried everything.
I ended up trying the carrot cake, which was moist and not too sweet.
 Then I tried the pudding, which was rich and creamy and tasted better than I expected.

The pudding had a physalis berry which I have never tried before and that tasted good too, it was similar to a tomato but with a slight bitterness and many tiny seeds inside.

It has been ages since I have dined here.
Their food must be OK because this place has been here for quite sometime, a lot of other places just open and go out of business.

In general I prefer to try new restaurants rather than dine at the same restaurant again unless there is something I want to try or it is really good.
Last time I came, they did not have noodles in cheese sauce, but now they claim to be specialists in noodles in cheese sauce.

When did they change their status to cheese specialist!?!

Anyway, I ordered the noodles in cheese sauce with pork.

As the menu was confusing I did not know the noodle could be ordered A la Carte, so I ended up ordering the set for $48, which I felt was slightly expensive.

The set included a few wedges of fresh orange and low sugar green tea.
The orange came first, so I just treated it as an appetiser.
 Anuway, how odd of them to give you orange when you are having cheese noodles because citrus and dairy together hmmm!!!\

Then the noodles came, it was the typical Chinese cheese sauce!
As with all Chinese cheese products, they believe by adding milk will make it cheesey.
All I could smell was MILK, which was quite sickening.
The cheese sauce was slightly opaque and had lots of starch mixed into it because it was like runny snot/slime!

The taste of the sauce was not cheesy at all, it was just milky with chicken powder added or some sort of meat essence.
The pork was nice, but slightly tough and difficult to remove from the bones.
The green tea was the powdered version like the ones served at Taiwanese beverages shops.

Previously tried the bento boxes which were not very exciting.

This time I tried the Japanese fried rice, it was nice when it was hot, however after it cooled down, the fish started to smell.
There was no egg in the fried rice, and it was plain salmon and Japanese pearl rice.
It was slightly dry and bland, but good for the elderly because salmon has omega-3 and it was not salty at all.
The rice was not oily which was good.

Compared with other Japanese curries, this one has to be the cheapest.

Anyway I gave it a revisit to try the omlette curry and the deep fried pork cutlet curry.

At first I was quite iffy about the ketchup on the egg, but in UK I would put ketchup in my curry.
However the curry in UK is different, it is not sweet like the Asian ones.

The egg was cooked nicely and not overdone, and the cheese on top gave it some flavour.
The pork cutlet was a bit greasy and dry.

A good place for Chinese roast pork when it has just been roasted.
It is very juicy and soft and the sauce is not as sweet as other places.
I have dined here along time ago, but I found the menu confusing and expensive, so this time I just ordered plain roast pork.

Walked past and saw these Hand made Thai sausages.
Usually they are over grilled, but today they were golden brown so I got one to try.
FIRST VISIT

I really liked it because the filling inside the sausage was made up of glutinous rice, glass vermicelli and grounded wax sausage meat.

It had a very wholesome texture just like a real pork sausage.
It would have been healthier than a real pork sausage, but it was just as oily.

It was quite an interesting experience eating this sausage, when you bite into it, there is a strong smell which is the same as the CHINESE WAX SAUSAGES, however it tastes nothing like it, then the next smell that comes is the fragrant glutinous rice.
It is quite appetizing as well because it tastes tangy.

However, these sausages can be inconsistent, it depends on the ratio of the wax sausage meat they put in.
I prefer less of it because I do not like the smell, but I love the vermicelli and glutinous rice.

I also tried the grilled chicken, it also had a tangy taste.
