Previously tried the beef version which was quite nice, so tried the chicken.
The black pepper sauce in the chicken version was hotter than the beef and not so sweet.
It also says that on the packaging.
It was grilled chicken thigh so it was juicy and tender.
I prefer crispy chicken patty instead of grilled chicken because it goes better with the lettuce.
The grilled chicken, black pepper sauce and lettuce together made the burger a bit soggy.

[Review 1421] Poshed up Tsui Wah Restaurant @ 翠華餐廳 Tsui Wah Restaurant
17/01/2012
翠華餐廳 Tsui Wah Restaurant
灣仔駱克道54-62號博匯大廈2樓1B號舖
Shop 1B, 2/F, The Broadway, 54-62 Lockhart Road, Wan Chai
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/poshed-up-tsui-wah-restaurant-e2215174
Previously this used to be Uno-Mas and Piel de Toro downstairs but now TW has taken over !!!
Sad to see them go!
Anyway it really stands out on this side of Lockhart road especially being a Chinese cuisine amongst the pubs and international restaurants!!
Luckily their usual Chinese corporate appearance has been toned down with dark windows and dark theme to match the glamour of Lockhart Road.
My only reason for dining here was just curiosity to see how they converted Uno-Mas into TW!!
Anyway, inside its much the same, the menu is the same which was disappointing, I was hoping for some high end stuff like how Arome bakery has taken it to the next level with Arome bakery room in North point.
As the interior is slightly different to their other branches, they should have some exclusive dishes that are only served at this branch.
Since I have not visited TW in ages they now have this barcoded ordering system, not sure if it is new, but the amusing thing is that they still use a pen to write down your table number.
Now to the food, ordered the prawns with noodles.
The noodles came with a separate side of chili sauce, overall it tasted ok, the prawns were big and springy and the noodles tasted OK.
The soup accompanying the noodles was their renowned soup cooked with sharks bones.

[Review 1420] The King's breakfast @ 漢堡王 Burger King

Shop R1A, 1/F, Nan Fung Plaza , Tseung Kwan O
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/the-kings-breakfast-e2215153
It is not often that I get a chance to have breakfast so I was greedy and ordered the set with an extra croissant and french toast.
There was so much choice!!
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
King's platter
The platter consists of round hash brown nuggets, tomato, cheese and ham omelette and a scone.
The hash brown nuggets were crispy with a slight soft centre. The tomato was grilled lightly so it just tasted like a raw tomato! As for the cheese and ham omelette, it had melted processed cheddar cheese in the middle with pieces of ham. The cheese was quite salty.
As for the scone it was quite dry.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Croissant with fish fillet and cheese
The croissant was not soft enough and it tasted like the cheap croissants with leathery skin.
The fish fillet was ok but the processed cheese in this croissant was also very salty.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
French toast
The French toast did not have extra syrup to spread, but it was coated on the French toast making it sticky to handle.
The egg was coated very slightly on the bread hence the egg taste was not so strong.

[Review 1419] Cinnamon banana fritters @ 五代同糖 Five Generations Dessert
17/01/2012
五代同糖 Five Generations Dessert
將軍澳寶琳貿泰路8號茵怡花園地下J 號舖
Shop J, G/F, Verbena Heights, 8 Mau Tai Road, Tseung Kwan O
Found this dessert shop because it was located round the corner from Chung's dessert.
When you walk into the shop there is a fruity scent similar to fruit syrups used for making Taiwanese fruit teas.
Anyway because the chocolate noodles were good last time, I ordered it again.
I also ordered the banana fritters with cinnamon as well.
☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Chocolate jelly noodles:
The chocolate jelly noodles had the wafer rolls which were not given at the Hang Hau branch, and the noodles were cut nicely and more manageable.
As there was a speck of green tea ice-cream in the chocolate ice-cream, I was beginning to wish it was mint chocolate ice-cream, but they only had green tea, chocolate or vanilla.
If the milk was mixed with baileys or even mocha the dessert would have been perfect.
But apart from that it was fun watching the milk turn brown by the cocopops.
☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆
Cinnamon banana fritters:
I thought this was quite creative because cinnamon is usually paired with apple.
The dessert tasted quite nice, but the bananas were slightly sour and starchy.

[Review 1418] Mini Chicken rolls wrapped in fish skin @ 香港仔魚蛋粉麵專家

Was not sure what to eat so just randomly tried this place because it was cheap and since I am not familiar with the stuff at MK there was no point splashing out in case it turned out not to be my cup of tea.
I hope I have listed this under the correct shop, as I found it through the street listing on OpenRice.
Anyway, this place serves the usual Hong Kong wonton noodles, beef briskets and fishballs.
I ordered the noodles with these fish rolls, which are basically a mini version of the chicken in beancurd rolls (雞扎 gaai jaat).
The mini version here was chicken, shitaake mushrooms, black fungas, carrots wrapped in fish skin.
Overall it tasted quite nice because fish skin has a better taste than beancurd rolls and it was bitesized.
As for the noodles, I did not like it much because I found the soup rather soapy with lots of bubbles and for $15 it was just a filler for my hunger.

[Review 1417] Cheesy square scones at Crumbs MK @ Crumbs

Shop B, 64 Bute Street, Mong Kok
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/cheesy-square-scones-at-crumbs-mk-e2214940
To be honest I prefer going to places that I have not tried before rather than re-visiting places unless they are incredibly delicious.
There were scones displayed in a heated cabinet which keeps them lovely and warm.
Anyway got two cheese scones at $7 each, both were warm.
The size of the scone was about 6cm by 6cm at 3cm thickness, so quite small.
They were extremely crumbly on the outside and soft inside.
The softness inside was similar to mochi but not that chewy.
It was moist, buttery and very cheesey.

[Review 1416] Aftermath of the Michelin's recommendation @ 第一腸粉專賣店 Superior Steamed Rice Roll Pro Shop

第一腸粉專賣店 Superior Steamed Rice Roll Pro Shop
太子砵蘭街373號基隆大廈地下C舖
Shop C, G/F, Ki Lung Building, 373 Portland Street, Prince Edward
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/aftermath-of-michelins-recommendation-e2214497
I tried this place in June last year and felt that it had the potential to be famous but I never thought they would be recommended by Michelin.
After that there were long queues so I did not go again, but when I went past there was no queue so I went in.
Sat down by the window and saw that there will be another branch opening accross the road!!
They still served the same rice-rolls as the last visit, however the price has gone up from $15 per dish to $19 per dish, the price range of rice-rolls served in dim sum restaurants.
I ordered the duck rice rolls again, and they appeared slightly thinner than my first visit.
Even when I walked in, the other peoples rice rolls were thinner and they were wrapped very taut.
Although the rolls were dinkier than before, it was more manageable because it was more bite size!
The rice-rolls took longer to arrive as well.
Anyway, it still tasted nice because the rice-roll wrap was al-dente and there was generous sweet soy sauce to go with the rice rolls.
