Previously found out about the TST branch through IVYCWK's review so I tried it and liked it.
Then read her later review that another branch had opened in Causeway Bay with more snacks so decided to try it.
The first visit I went without her and then on the second visit I went with IVYCWK after dining with her at the Fiat Cafe.

The Causeway Bay branch is much bigger and there are more items to choose from.
The staff there wear clear plastic hygiene face shields, the same as the ones the staff wore at FAIRWOOD in WanChai.
I finally got to try deer tendons because the TST branch is more expensive and here you can get them in smaller portions.
As well as deer tendons they had other food such as abalone congee and noodles with sea cucumber.
Although I have been here twice, there are still many items I want to try.
I really like the way they have taken ordinary Chinese snacks such as fishballs and noodles and poshed it up with Chinese delicacies.
The good thing about this joint is that I can order these luxuries any time, any day myself without needing need to go to Chinese restaurants with a group of people for it.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Fish balls in truffle sauce
These were ordinary fishballs in truffle sauce however the there was no truffle taste.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Deer Tendons and Fish Maw
Both were soft and gelatinous.
The deer tendons tasted really nice and the fish maw were really soft as well.
I prefer this branch because they have a big stew of it which has been heated all day keeping it soft, whereas the TST branch they are heated up when ordered so they may not be that soft.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Congee with sea cucumber and black moss
This was really nice and there was lots of black moss and sea cucumber but the congee was slightly bland, but since I had lots of sauce from the deer tendons I mixed the congee with that and it tasted really nice.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Fuscilli with tomato and Fish maw
As well as fish maw and tomato sauce there was also kidney beans.
The tomato sauce was slightly too sweet for my liking and the fish maw was a new experience with tomato flavouring.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Noodles with sea cucumber
I was looking forward to this but the noodles were too dry and salty, and the sea cucumber was a bit chewy.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Cordyceps militaris ice-cream
Compared to the TST branch, there were more ice-cream flavours here.
I tried the cordyceps flavour which was really nice, it was a bit like ice-cream with truffle and it tasted slightly savoury.
Before I tried it the staff said there is a strong herb taste for this flavour which people may not like.
The Chinese name was quite interesting because it is usually called 冬蟲草 but this one is called 北

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
It would be brilliant if they had more items in the future such as ducks feet in abalone sauce, har gau with truffle, siu mai with abalone, porks trotter in vinegar and ginger sauce, braised grapefruit skin.
But anyway so far so good!
I will be back to try the thick soup with fish maw and the fish maw congee.

[Review 1507] Parma ham and Roast pork @ 摩廚 Maureen

Came here especially to try the parma ham and Roast pork because it was sold out on my first visit.

ⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓖⓘⓡⓛⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓖⓘⓡⓛ
Parma Ham:
It just tastes how you would expect it, slightly chewy and waxy with some smokey saltiness.
Usually it is served as a starter with melon but it was interesting having it with Chinese noodles and as a luxury gimmick as well which matches their other items such as abalone and chinese wine egg.

ⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓖⓘⓡⓛⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓖⓘⓡⓛ
Roast Pork:
The chef Maureen was really nice and gave me two different cuts, one was the belly part and the other was the lean part.
It was different from the Chinese roast pork which is dry, this one was lovely and moist with lots of juice but not quite gravy.
Although there was no red beancurd in the pork, I could taste it slightly.
The roast pork was amazingly soft and juicy and it reminded me of the roast pork that was served at CANTOPOP cooked by the Sous vide method.

ⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓖⓘⓡⓛⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓖⓘⓡⓛ
Noodles:
Last time I forgot to take pictures of the noodles so here are the pictures from this visit.
There were snow pea sprouts which were more elegant than the usual Chinese greens they put with the noodles.
The julienne potatoes tasted much better than my first visit because they were not so oily.
The noodles were better this time as well because they were not clumped together.
As they are always experimenting with different types of noodles to match their broth, there are some noodles which I would love to try with this broth such as Angel pasta, instant noodles, spinach noodles and new bamboo vermicelli.

[Review 1506] Tempura Whopper series @ Burger King 漢堡王

When I saw the poster for this, it just reminded me of Freshness burger and MOS because the tempura was so Japanese.

Anyway there are three options: Tempura Whopper, Tempura Whopper Junior and Veggie Tempura whopper.

Tried the Tempura Whopper Junior and the Veggie Tempura whopper but since I do not like beef the Veggie Tempura Whopper tastes better.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Veggie Tempura whopper
This is same as the beef tempura whopper except that there is no beef and there is a slice of processed cheese in it.
I ate the tomato first because I do not like tomatoes in my burgers.
Anyway, it was really good because they put endive lettuce and not the usual iceburg lettuce.
The endive lettuce is not as juicy as the iceburg lettuce so the tempura can still be tasted and the sauce that was put in the burger matched it well because it was not too sweet.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Tempura Whopper Junior
As the taste of the beef was quite strong, the taste of the tempura couldn't be tasted so it was just like eating their usual burgers with some crunch in it.

[Review 1505] Cookies and cream cheesecake @ McCafe

The Cookies and cream cheesecake immediately stood out from the cake selection.

It is different from the usual cheesecakes because half of the base is cake and the above is cookies and cream cheesecake filling.
Usually there is more proportion of the cheesecake filling and the bottom is just a biscuit base tart.

I rarely eat cheesecakes because I find them quite heavy and I do not like the biscuit base.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Cookies and cream cheesecake
The cake looked visually nice, there was a distinct dark brown cake base in contrast to the light yellow cheesecake filling on top embedded with oreo cookies and topped with big white chocolate drops and oreo pieces.
The cheesecake filling at the top was amazingly light, it was similar to thick mousse and the oreo cookie pieces in it were nice and soft as well.
It was a good match with the chocolate cake base at the bottom which was not too sweet, but the cake base was a little too dry and hard.
Although there was oreo pieces in it, there was still a lemon taste in the cheesecake filling!

[Review 1504] McCafe's asiaroma of tea -series - Himalayan Tea @ McCafe

The new asiaroma teas were quite attractive especially the poster.

It is quite good that there are new teas on the menu for non coffee drinkers.

The two new drinks in this series are Himalayan Tea and Soy Green tea which is available hot or cold.
The Himalayan tea is Himalayan tea with fresh milk topped with whipped cream and a dusting of cinnamon and the Soy green tea is sweet green tea with soy milk with whipped cream and green tea powder on top.

Anyway wanted to try both, but tried the Himalayan tea first because I have never heard of it.

I was not sure what it was going to taste like, but any taste that is not Hong Kong style tea is good for me!
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Himalayan tea - Cold
When I got the drink I was quite surprised with the colour, it was vivid peach.

The taste was nothing like tea or Hong Kong style milk tea and there was no tea taste.
However it was very milky.
It reminded me of the milkshakes at school which consists of plain milk with added syrups.
(If your a Brit or attended secondary school there your'll know what I mean, but the syrups at different schools may differ)
The cinnamon which was at the top could not be tasted.
Although there was no tea taste, I really liked it because it was exactly the same as the milkshakes at school.
The taste is hard to explain, but it tastes like milk with a faint bitter butterscotch taste.McCafe's asiaroma of tea -series - Himalayan Tea

Wanted to try the banana puff so went in for it.
It was tea time so had to get the tea set but the tea that came with it was Hong Kong style milk tea which I do not drink.

Anyway, the banana puff arrived and it smelt quite buttery.

I sliced it to take a cross sectional picture of it and when I was looking at it on my Camera, I realised there ws a piece of hair in it.

close up and cropped from picture above

Anyway, the taste was too sweet and I did not bother eating it because the hair had put me off

[Review 1502] Malaysian Ipoh delights in Wan Chai @ 怡寶馬來西亞風味餐廳 Ipoh Restaurant

Quite interesting, before Ipoh opened, there were two restaurants before it, the First was a Singaporean restaurant Pasar, then it was some Vietnamese restaurant and now it is Malaysian.

Although it opened recently, there are many regulars at this restaurant, and their customer service is extremely brilliant.
There was an elderly dining there, and the waitress was very attentive and helped her separate the chicken from the bone into smaller pieces and removing the chicken skin.

Anyway ordered some noodles, buk kut teh, chicken with rice and a lemon and barley drink.

ⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓖⓘⓡⓛⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓖⓘⓡⓛ
Buk Kut Teh:
The broth was not peppery but I found it quite salty

ⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓖⓘⓡⓛⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓖⓘⓡⓛ
Chicken with rice:
The rice was really nice and not oily.
The chicken was moist and tender.

ⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓖⓘⓡⓛⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓖⓘⓡⓛ
Hak-ga style noodles
I found the noodles quite chewy and not soft at all, but overall it tasted quite nice. Although the noodles had a strong taste, the soup that came with it tasted saltier than the noodles.
The sauce was really refreshing and it tastes like the chili sauce in some thai restaurants.

ⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓖⓘⓡⓛⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓢⓤⓟⓔⓡⓖⓘⓡⓛ
Lemon and Barley drink:
The sweetness of this drink was just right and it was slightly viscous.
The lemon and barley itself could both be tasted.
