With ramen joints opening everywhere in Hong Kong, there is now one in Sai Kung as well as others in the New Territories such as Yuen Long and Tai Po.
This place is called Tenjin which is place in Fukuoka City, Japan, but as I have not been to Japan I wouldnt know if the food was Tenjin style or not.
After checking the menu, they basically serve ramens and grilled skewers.
For the basic ramen it costs $42, so for that price I had no expectations because it is about one third cheaper than the ramen joints in the city.

There is a spicy version which costs $44.

Basically the basic ramen does not include any meat and it is just ramen and broth with optional garlic and spring onions.

As I do not like the Japanese BBQ pork, the basic ramen was fine for me, but other people might not be so pleased with the basic ramen because you have to pay extra for the BBQ pork.
They had other options such as gyozas. grilled chicken, prawn cutlet etc.

For the grilled skewers section I was attracted by the chicken liver so I ordered that too.

On the table there were three pots of condiments: garlic, chili and sesame seeds.
The chopsticks that they gave you were disposable bamboo chopsticks.

Ramen in pork bone soup:

The broth was nice and strong and the garlic oil and spring onions enhanced it.
The ramen was the squiggly type and the texture was similar to instant noodles but more al dente and thicker so I quite liked it.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Grilled chicken livers:

The texture of the livers were rather starchy. They were gently seasoned so you could still taste the liver.

This shop was opened a while ago but as it was the summer, chocolate always melt and the texture is not really as hard as it is meant to be.
Recently was in Sai Kung and Ivycwk reminded of this chocolate shop so went in.
As well as chocolates they sell wines and caviar.
In the end I chose eggnog chocolate, baileys and creme pistache shown in that order in the photo.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Eggnog chocolate:
I got the egg nog because it was a Christmasy flavour. Eggnog is a popular drink throughout the United States, England and Canada, and is usually associated with winter celebrations such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the New Year. Commercial non-alcoholic eggnog is typically available only in the winter season.
As for the taste I loved it, the alcoholic taste was really strong but the sweetness was just right.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
creme pistache chocolate:

This was too sweet and the pistachio flavouring was faint.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Baileys chocolate:

I felt that the alcohol taste of the baileys was not strong enough.

[Review 1957] More dreamy desserts @ Hoi Kee Walnut Place 海記合桃坊甜品

The desserts here are so delicious that I had to come back to this particular branch for the other stuff.
I wish the Mong Kok branch would taste as good as this because the To Kwa Wan location is a bit inconvenient.

I came back especially for the vanilla dessert which is not served after 7pm on weekdays, so I had the desserts first and then had dinner afterwards.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Iced white jade HKD16:

Another amazing dessert which was worth coming all the way for it.
It had sago, aloe vera, and glutinous rice balls in milky vanilla sauce. The sweetness was really gentle and moreish.
The whipped cream on top made it even more dreamier.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Tofu pudding with peach and pearls HKD15:

I was surprised the tofu pudding had a strong creamy tofu taste yet its texture was like panna cotta.
The coloured pearls were not as pretty as the product shot and they were a tad too sweet.
The peach slices were canned peaches and were slightly sweetened.

I had this lunch during July so the standard of the food could be different from now from what I have read on Open Rice.

Anyway, I had the lunch set for $148 which includes a salad, main course, dessert and drink.
The flowers on the table were quite nice and the surroundings were nice and relaxing.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Salad:

The salad is self service from the salad bar, my favourite items were the grilled squid and apple salad which were quite refreshing.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Lemon chicken and capsicum skewers with roast veggie cous cous and mint garlic yogurt sauce:
I love cous cous so I had to order this, however the cous cous was not soft enough.
The chicken was lovely and tender with hints of lemon juice, it was grilled just right that it was not dry.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Orange panna cotta:

The panna cotta was smooth and milky and the piece of orange on top balanced out the creaminess of the pudding.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Cappuccino:

I do not usually drink cappuccino but the lovely froth on top made it irresistible.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
I have not been lately because the menu seems a bit boring.

[Review 1955] Sliced beef with black pepper and curry @ 銀座二丁目咖喱 Ginza Nichome Curry

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Sliced beef with black pepper and curry sauce:

The sliced beef here was quite nice, it was tender and thinly sliced.
The beef was cooked on the metal plate which gave it a nice charred taste as well as hints of black pepper.
When it was eaten with the curry sauce it tasted even better as the curry was slightly sweet and went well with the black pepper.

Came here again because the cat from the shop next door was here.
Ordered the Roasted chicken with gravy and rice and the Roasted baby pork legs and rice which comes with drinks.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Roasted chicken with gravy and rice:

The rice was really mushy and the gravy was nice.
The chicken had lots of herbs on it so it was delicious however some parts of the chicken were dry.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Roasted baby pork legs and rice:

This was delicious and not too salty.
The pork legs were tender and came off the bone easily. The BBQ sauce on the pork leg made it quite sweet.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
It was quite hard eating with the plastic utensils provided.

[Review 1953] Vegetarian char siu rice rolls & vegetarian sushi @ 百好素食

Since my last visit in 2006, their attitude is still the same and as pushy as before.
If they were not next to a temple they would probably have less people deliberately coming over to have vegetarian meals unless they were vegans.

The vegan rice roll looked good so I decided to get the Vegan BBQ pork one, as soon as I picked it up, the woman tried to put donuts and other items which I was not intending to buy.
Then I looked at the vegan sushi and she tried to get me to buy other snacks as well.

Although vegan foods are meant to be good for you, it sometimes can be bad for you especially when it is made with ingredients which are hard to digest.
Some vegan foods do not break down in your mouth and they come out the other end how it went in because I have experienced that before!

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Vegan BBQ Pork rice roll:
I have tried vegan BBQ pork before and this one was not as good as the ones I tried before.
The texture of the BBQ pork was like hard rubber.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Vegan sushi:
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Vegan salmon:
The texture was similar to real salmon but there was a strong carotene taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Vegan tuna:
This tasted 90% like raw tuna and there was even an unami taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Vegan squid :
This was like jelly plastic but the taste was quite nice.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Vegan eel:
As well as vegan salmon and tuna, this is another one of my favourites because it is made of soy and mushroom stalks which have a real fishy texture.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Vegan scallops:
The appearance was similar to mini vietnamese sausage slices but the texture was extremely rubbery like plastic that does not break down when you chew it and I suspect it will come out the other end like that too.
