I only come here once in a million years because this joint is always crowded and the queue is extremely long.
Today they only had two choices left in the baked section and one of them looked good so I got it.

All the dishes are contained in foil boxes and in the oven so they are ready to takeaway when you order.
I do not normally like baked rice, they are quite different from the Western ones because they used fried rice instead of plain rice which I find oily and heavy.
The temperature of the baked rice was also really hot.

Baked vegetarian burdock steak with yin yang sauce and rice:
I got it today because it was a vegetarian steak and it was quite cheap for $23 if you compare it to other vegetarian places.
However if you eat meat, then for $23 people will choose the one with the most expensive ingredients in that range.
Basically it was baked rice with Yin yang sauce, which is half tomato and half white sauce.

The rice beneath it had some pieces of egg but not a lot and the sauce had lots of frozen peas and carrots. The peas were quite dehydrated and hard.

I preferred the white sauce but it was quite salty and the tomato sauce was the usual taste found in Chinese restaurants. The vegetarian steak was nice but difficult to eat with those tacky plastic fork and spoons.

But anyway it was fun and better to eat from an aluminium box as there is no PFC odour.

Walked past this joint because I like looking at the pretty bottles and other ingredients behind this counter.
It just so happens that the Guy who makes the crepes figured out who I was so offered me a crepe so I was quite chuffed.
I had fruit pancake this time and chose banana with honey.
While he was making it, I found out he had some Italian ancestry which explains his Italian looks.
But today I felt that he looked a bit like Sylvester Stallone and someone else who I cant quite remember.

Whilst he was making the crepe he was attracting a crowd!

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Honey and banana crepe:

The box this time was much better and sturdier making it easier to eat and there was a knife and fork too.
I felt that the crepe tasted nicer because of its simplicity as it was just bananas and honey.
If you have tried the honey in Europe its tastes really different and much nicer!
The taste reminded me of the honey at MELI-PARK in Belgium which is now called Plopsaland De Panne.
It was really cool I tried the honey here because I totally forgot about this theme park that I went to as a kid which was created by a Honey company.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Anyway thanks for the crepe and thanks for the memory.

[Review 1984] Folilicious baked chicken with pineapple @ 肯德基家鄉雞 (KFC) Kentucky Fried Chicken

The Folilicious series are back and there is a new flavour again.
This time it is chicken with Pineapple.

The PoLam branch turned out to be quite annoying because some staff were not trained and some had attitude problems.

They have also put these irritating barriers to making queuing times longer as if it wasnt long enough.

I was quite annoyed that all the displays on the tills were not working, and the only one that was working was displaying "Please go to another counter".
The annoyance that the till display was not working was because you cannot see the total, so if the cashier wanted to take advantage of this and get extra money, the customer and KFC management would not know.

da till on the LHR has no display, cant C da total

The staff did not know their products well because for the side order you can order the combo one which has potato wedges as well and when I ordered that he shouted aloud to the other staff that he did not know what it was.

Anyway finally ordered the set with the new chicken and pineapple with imitation sharks fin soup.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Imitation sharks fin soup:
The way they put the soup in the bowl was so sloppy, it was overflowing from the side of the bowl.

On my last visit they put a lid on it, here they did not.
However the taste was really nice it was not as concentrated and as salty as last time.
The mushroom taste was strong and there was a slight sour taste to it.
Again I prefer the sharks fin soup here compared to the "normal" ones because there is less meat and oil.
As well as not being given knives and forks, I didnt get a spoon either so I had to use the SPORK again!

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
chicken and pineapple:

It tasted so nice and better than what I anticipated because I thought it would be really sweet and syrupy because of the pineapple, but the sauce does not taste of pineapple.
The pineapple just plays the part as garnishing and it tasted really sweet for my liking.

However the sauce consisted of mainly tomato sauce taste but you could not see any tomatoes in it.
The taste is similar to Italian tomato sauce with herbs.
The chicken was nice and tender but I was furious that they did not give a knife and fork.

It was really damn difficult eating with a spork so I asked if I could have a knife and fork and this other staff was much nicer.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Potato wedges:

It was a combination of potato wedges and criss cut fries.
They were not hot enough, but the potato wedges tasted better than the other fries.

[Review 1983] Matcha froyo drink @ Yogurt Town

This place has been here for ages but there are so many froyo joints around that if the flavours are not different then it gets boring.

I liked the idea of froyo and jelly which was cheap as well at $10 but I was too lazy to ask what flavour the jelly was.

In the end I saw the matcha drink for $16 which was also extremely cheap if you compare it to Sweet house cha cha at $46, there was another drinks shop nearby and the green tea slush cost $26.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Matcha froyo drink HKD16:
It was interesting because the green tea drink was not pre-made, it was made to order as the staff got some Matcha powder, icecubes and milk and blended it.
However I was not quick enough to get a clear picture of the brand they used but the packaging looked quite decent.

When I got the drink I did not mix it immediately but drank the drink to see what the green tea tastes like.
The green tea was so strong that there was a slight twinge of sourness and it was also very milky.
It was similar to the one at Sweet House Cha Cha where it tastes nice after mixing it.
In comparison with Sweet house, the tea here was had more depth because the froyo was slightly tart with a slight yakult flavouring and the Sweet house one was plainly sweet with strong vanilla tones.

[Review 1982] Well hidden top of the pops delish food..Vroom..@ 五洲麵 Top Noodle

Went to Sai Kung for food and I was really glad I did not go to the modern part of Sai Kung because I found two delicious places including this one, the other one was Revolution which I wished I discovered earlier.

Entering the old part of Sai Kung into the lanes, I noticed a banner with a racing car and grand prix design, when I had a closer look at it, I realised it was a noodle shop!!
I am not a fan of Chinese noodles but the design attracted me so there was no harm taking a look at the shop on the way to finding a place to eat!

When I got there, the shop was quite small but had a flashy grand prix style front.

Then I looked at the menu and saw BRAISED DUCK!!!! Usually it is roast duck or smoked duck slices and for a small joint like this serving braised duck it sounded delicious so I went in for that.
On the way in I saw a metal pan with braised duck in it which I was pretty sure it was going to be that dish.
It did not look appealing but it was just pieces of bones but somehow I knew it was going to be delicious.

Anyway sat down and they had these interesting stool like sofa which feel quite wobbly.
(Pity I forgot to take a picture because they did look quite nice and it was in my favourite silver colour)
Here is a photo but you cant see the bottom half!

On the wall there was a bag full of ring pulls which I thought was cute!

The menus were quite flashy in contrast to the rest of the restaurant.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Braised duck:

When it came, it was exactly what I saw in the metal pan and there were some extra courgettes as well.
The chinese mushrooms were the cutest I have seen and I suspect that they chose the smaller variety so that it is more tasty and it proved to be right.

The mushrooms were deliberately not soaked properly to give it an extra stalky texture and flavour.
The sauce was spicy because there were chilis but it was soothing like mint and you could still taste other tastes.
There were so many spices in this including aniseed and sichuan peppercorns.
The duck was chopped into fine pieces which was difficult to eat but if you do not chop it into really small pieces it is hard for the duck to get flavoured properly.
Any how, even though I was not an expert with bony pieces I found the sauce delicious with the rice.
I can't wait to eat this again, but since I am not an expert with bones, I hope I get more mushrooms next time.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Hong Kong style tea:

I do not drink the HK beverages but it came with the meal. I only took a picture of it because the milk/cream/condensed milk or whatever was so thick you can see it sinking to the bottom on the side of the glass.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Soup:
The set comes with soup which is not listed on the menu but they will ask you if you want the soup or not because some people do not drink the soup.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★

After dining here I could not figure why they used the grand prix design then later I realised they were trying to link it with Car noodles hence the car.
I tried the noodles as well, but I preferred the duck!

When their first branch opened in MK I really wanted to go but it was really hard trying to get a froyo from there because there were so many people and it was so noisy making it hard to order.
Then they opened their next store in Central which was really accessible but when you get to Central there is so much choice that I end up going elsewhere.
I wonder how long this shop will stay open because Yogo Frozen Yogurt which was nearby has closed down.
The difference at this branch is that it is decorated with Hello Kitty and the spoons are Hello Kitty too!
The spoon comes in pink or blue.
I usually collect the spoons if they are nice.

The froyo cup also had Hello Kitty on it.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Green tea:
Quite nice but it was quite icy.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Raspberry tart:
This was my favourite the raspberry flavouring was quite natural.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Vanilla:
As well as the raspberry the vanilla tasted quite nice too, the vanilla taste was quite strong.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Signature tart:
I was quite disappointed with this one because it wasnt tarty enough.
