Found out about this new café on OpenRice. There were only pictures so I could not tell what they served.

Anyway arrived there and it was a neat café on the corner, there are two seats inside.

They serve coffees, bagels and other items.

I only ordered a muffin because I do not drink coffee, but there was a drink that I really want to try next time.
They make their own liquid chocolate concentrate which I forgot to take a picture. Milk is added to it to make hot chocolate or cold chocolate.
Anyway, the chocolate liquid looked really delicious in the jug.

There were lots of interesting items at this café.
I liked the pre-packed bags of sugar which are most probably for takeouts.

Apple crumble muffin HKD17:

Although this was not made by them it tasted really nice, it was similar the muffins at Mrs Fields.
The muffin was lovely and moist but not too sweet with the occasional pieces of soft cooked apple.

Located near the Jusco supermarket, this joint is slightly smaller than the one at I-square.
Anyway came here for the stir-fried soba noodles because I like soba and okra.

Soba with okra and mushrooms:

Usually soba comes with broth or as cold noodles but here they had the stir-fried version.
The garlic taste and tomato were quite strong but the chili was not that spicy.
I found the texture of the soba noodles to be slightly mushy and sticky because I think the stir-fried soba was rather wet and the sap that comes from okra is also quite viscous.

Cream puff:

The cream puff was really nice and it was quite big as well.
The buttery smell was quite strong and the sweetness was just right.

Came back for the Sesame chicken and mung bean sheets and ordered the hot and sour soup.

hot and sour soup:

The soup was too spicy for me, the chilis were extremely hot.
It had lots of bamboo shoots in it which made it taste funny.

Sesame chicken and mung bean sheets:

The sesame sauce was rather sweet but the mung bean sheets were nice as usual.
The chicken was tender but it was frozen chicken.

Along this road, its all Chinese food, the one on the left is about the same price and has more choice, the one on the right is more expensive, but I tried this one because it was small and not many people have written about it even though it was packed with people sitting there.

It was hard to find this restaurant on OpenRice because the first letter of the name looks like a big O.
But when I saw their license certificates I realised this shop was called Connie's and not Comie's.
I got the $25 lunch set which includes a soup.

Hamburg patty and spam:
I chose this because I liked spam and it had black pepper sauce.
When I saw the hamburg patties they looked different to the usual patties because the surface looked smooth.
I don't like beef, but the beef patty was delicious, it was thinly sliced as well.
The texture was quite similar to those vegetarian steaks and it was seasoned really nicely.
The rice was too soggy and hot.
In the middle it was a bit like congee.
The black pepper sauce tasted like delicious gravy and the black pepper taste was light and did not over power the rest of the items.
I hope they have this combination again and I was so surprised the beef turned out to be the star and not the spam.
I am not sure how beef lovers would rate the patty because they might be expecting a really beefy taste.

The soup had red carrots and it tasted really sweet with strong carrot taste.

The food here in general is quite good but it depends what is on the menu.

That day there was risotto and pan fried fish with buttered dill.

Salad:

The salad is self service from the bar.

The lettuce is nice and fresh and there are lots of sauces to choose from.

The croutons were not crispy enough but the garlic taste was strong.

Mushroom and cream risotto:

The risotto at this place has tasted better before. The risotto this time was too hard and the sauce was too milky and creamy.

Fish in creamy dill sauce with mash:

The fish was nice and tender and the dill sauce and butter was nice because there was lots of dill in it.

The sauce was extremely buttery, there was so much melted butter.

The mash was also delicious, it was hot and velvety and had potato taste and tasted really nice with the remaining butter sauce.

Another one of my favourite places for food, apart from their delicious Haggis I tried their other sets.

This was lentil soup and the taste was quite bland and starchy.

Beef pie and mash:
This is probably not a house made pie but it was delicious, there were succulent pieces of beef in rich gravy
The pie pastry was baked just right, flakey on the outside and soft inside.
The beef and gravy was delicious.
The mash was too creamy and heavy and lacked potato taste.

Fish and chips:

The fish itself is not bad but the batter is too thick and heavy.
The chips were over done.
