To be honest I do not usually buy from Aji Ichiban because a lot of the confectionary is from China and it is mostly preserved snacks.
I would rather eat a bag of crisps or proper chocolate!

However when I found out they had marinated snacks I decided to get some, they had kidneys and gizzards but I chose the ducks feet, chicken drumettes and roast goose.
For those three items it costs $36 so I might as well go to a real grill joint where they only cost around $1x per skewer!

Isoyaki roast goose:

The goosemeat was very hard and chewy.
It was very spicy as well but did not have that sweet teriyaki taste I was expecting because I associated Isoyaki with the Japanese teriyaki taste.
I just felt that the taste was similar to those vacuum sealed spicy snacks from China!

Isoyaki chicken drumette:


The flavouring of this tasted the same as the above, however the chicken drumette faired slightly better because the texture was more natural.

This was the worst out of the three, again the taste was the same, but the texture of the goose feet was like HARD JELLY plastic!

Not many places have starfruit juices today unless you look for them.
It just so happens I saw the starfruits in their cabinets so decided to get some starfruit juice.

As this was a Taiwanese beverage shop, I asked for the starfruit juice not to be sweetened incase it was and the girl at the counter said it is just juice so it shouldn’t be sweetened.

When I got the juice, it was really sweet and obviously it had been sweetened.
Water was also added because you can taste it was watered down.

I thought they just did juices only but they had puddings as well.
The puddings are from Dai Kee and the packaging was slightly different to the ones you get at Dai Kee.
They were just wrapped with a piece of plastic and the sides were exposed.
The edges of the puddings were hard and dry because it got dehydrated.

Black Sesame:
The black sesame taste was faint and it was not too sweet.

Split peas and coconut pudding:
The sweetness of this was just right with pieces of split peas and the coconut was not too strong.

The pumpkin pudding was quite nice as the pumpkin flavour and coconut flavour were strong.

My last visit to this place was a few years ago because their attitude was really pushy and rude.
Decided to come here again and the service was still the same.

The beef was thinly sliced, slightly seasoned like pastrami and the sandwice tasted ok.

Ham sandwich:

The sandwich was buttered heavily so there was a strong taste of butter. I was surprised there was slightly more ham in this than usual.

The service is really crap as they expect you to pay with the exact amount, when you don't they frown.

Tried these really nice Raspberry♥crunchy♥love♥biscuits from Ivy.
Not only did they taste nice, the theme of the candy shop was really sweet and just like a scene from a novel.

The raspberry looked like mini pieces of meringue with pieces of almond embedded in it.
The Raspberry♥crunchy♥love♥biscuits were more substantial than meringues because there were whole pieces of almonds in it and the texture did not crumble and disappear like meringues do.
The sweetness was just right and the taste of raspberry was rich and I loved the colour of the biscuits.

Apart from these Raspberry♥crunchy♥love♥biscuits they had other confectionery too which were pretty.

As usual came here for duck, but it was late that day so they had sold out of all the vegetables and tofu that they use to put beneath the duck so that the portion looks bigger.
Despite those ingredients were sold out, the portion of duck was still the same ie not much.

The usual white pepper and pigs intestine soup.

I have not been here for a while because they had an attitude problem before.
They refused to accept legal tender, ie the coppers such as ten and twenty cents.
After the rennovation I decided to check it out.
The prices have gone up but the food was still the same.

Hot Dog submarine:

Although this was labelled a hot dog, it was more like a submarine.
The bun really ruined the hot dog because it was sweet and had sesame seeds on it.
The salad filling and sauce also made it taste weird.
