I found this bakery quite interesting because it was a Chinese bakery yet they had some western stuff like carrot cake so I got that.

On my way out I saw the banana pie at the front but I was too lazy to go back and get it so I will get that next time.

In the end I just got the carrot cake and chocolate and walnut cake.

Carrot cake:


The carrot cake was quite moist and evidently there was a lot of shredded pieces of carrot in it.

Chocolate and walnut cake:


It was a tart filled with chocolate and walnuts, the filling was similar to a chocolate brownie.
The taste was extremely rich.

Ordered the Fung shing dumplings with macaroni but they gave me Instant noodles by accident.

Instant noodles:
Luckily the broth and noodles were separated in different bowls but you have to pay extra for the bowl.
The noodles were hard to start off with and after the broth was put in, it went soft really quickly and it was tasteless.

Fung Shing dumplings:
The dumplings were massive, they were about the size of half a boiled egg.
It had the usual bamboo shoots, black fungas and prawns inside.
The dumpling skin had a slight akaline taste to it.
There were three dumplings in total.

Walked past and the croissants were freshly out of the oven so I decided to get one.

The croissant was still lovely and warm, you could smell the buttery smell lingering.
It was nice and flakey yet soft in the middle.
The taste was just right, not too sweet or not too salty.

I do not come here often because the customer service is not that good and the food is expensive as well!

Honey pork shanks with curry sauce and pasta:

The spaghetti was too soft and tasteless so it relied on the curry sauce, however there was not much curry sauce and the curry sauce was too spicy.
The pork shanks this time was nice and soft and came off the bone easily, however it was too sweet and there was a lot of oil on top.
There were pieces of mushroom which i did not get on my last visit.

I have always wanted to get their macarons but I was not around the area, but now they have three stores which makes them more accessible.
Apart from macarons they also do bite sized cakes.

In the end I chose the earl grey and baileys which were HKD17 for 2

Earl Grey:
I couldnt figure out why this was yellow!
Anyway, the earl grey taste was light.

Baileys:
This one tasted better than the earl grey and it was slightly chewy in the middle.
The bailey taste was light as well but the sweetness was not that sweet.

Assorted cakes:

I was attracted to this cake because of the layers, it reminded me of the baumkuchen cakes.
I did not know the name of this cake because it was in the assorted cake section.
The taste was quite nice, there was buttery salted creamy in the middle unfortunately.
The top of the cake was pretty and tasted like iced sugary butter.
On top there was a marshmallow.

To be honest I do not usually buy from Aji Ichiban because a lot of the confectionary is from China and it is mostly preserved snacks.
I would rather eat a bag of crisps or proper chocolate!

However when I found out they had marinated snacks I decided to get some, they had kidneys and gizzards but I chose the ducks feet, chicken drumettes and roast goose.
For those three items it costs $36 so I might as well go to a real grill joint where they only cost around $1x per skewer!

Isoyaki roast goose:

The goosemeat was very hard and chewy.
It was very spicy as well but did not have that sweet teriyaki taste I was expecting because I associated Isoyaki with the Japanese teriyaki taste.
I just felt that the taste was similar to those vacuum sealed spicy snacks from China!

Isoyaki chicken drumette:


The flavouring of this tasted the same as the above, however the chicken drumette faired slightly better because the texture was more natural.

This was the worst out of the three, again the taste was the same, but the texture of the goose feet was like HARD JELLY plastic!
