Carrot cake:

The carrot cake looked nice but it did not taste that nice because the cake was dense.
There was not much carrot taste even though there was lots of carrot pieces, the cinnamon taste was really strong.
The icing on top was quite sweet.

[Review 2099] Phoenix rolls filled with cheese @ 榮華餅家 Wing Wah

榮華餅家 Wing Wah

Shop 307, Plaza Hollywood, 3 Lung Poon Street, Diamond Hill

I got these phoenix rolls because they were cheese flavoured and not the usual boring desiccated coconut or meat floss.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Phoenix rolls filled with cheese:
Inside the box, there were six pieces.
When I opened the box, the smell of buttery cheese was quite strong.
However when you eat it, it still tastes the same as the usual ones with a hint of cheese.

[Review 2098] Sweet dark malt bread @ 奇華餅家 Kee Wah Bakery

I was surprised to see that they sold bread at this shop.
I assumed it was just traditional Chinese bakery.
The dark malt toast got my attention, however I think it should be labelled as bread or called Bread on the packaging because it was still soft and not toasted.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
dark malt toast:

The bread was fresh so it was still soft.
It tasted like brown sugar flavoured bread with a strong malt taste.
If you treat it as a sweet bread without spreading butter it tastes nice.
There was a lovely malt smell too when you opened the bag.

As usual you can choose two choices with rice for $32 takeout.
This time they had fried fish so tried that.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Fried fishes:

The fish was really nice but there were too many fine bones.
There were about four fishes in total because they were quite small.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Marinated chicken wings:

The chicken wings were dry and tough but the taste was ok.
It was rather oily and the chicken skin was quite fat.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Soup:
Tasteless

Double fudge brownies HKD14.5:

I was expecting these to be sweet however they were too sweet this time.
They were also cold as well because the cabinet had been chilled.

[Review 2095] Scrambled egg with prawns @ 喜喜冰室 The Match Box

Since my last visit, they now have another branch in Causeway Bay too.
A few blocks away from each other.
This was one of the few Chinese Cafes I used to go to before my sudden outburst of trying Chinese cafes lately.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Scrambled egg with prawns:

The scrambled egg here was delicious because it was like eggy gravy with pieces of prawns in it.
There were lots of spring onions which made it even more delicious.
It tasted good with or without soy sauce, but adding soy enhanced it a bit more.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
As for the price I found it expensive.

[Review 2094] Cheese Pontikeges @ 安妮麵包 Annie Bakery

https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/cheese-pontikeges-annie-bakery-e2271810

After eating at God’s Restaurant I was attracted by these pontikeges, which looked quite big, so decided to go in and get some.
They had some other really interesting items such as the coconut tarts, which were immensely yellow.
The chicken burgers looked really delicious because the chicken patties were uniform and I liked how thin they were because they looked crispy.
The pineapple bun cakes were interesting too because they were pineapple buns made into cake form with a pineapple cake looking top.
Overall their items look quite inviting but they did not like people taking photographs of their food.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
cheese pontikeges:

The pontikeges were nice and chewy, the cheese taste was prominent, but I didn’t like the slight sweetness and the heavy butter taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
I want to come back for their chicken burgers but their attitude really discourages you to come back or maybe I will come back but not bother to write about it.
