The first time I dined at Misocool was at their first branch in Quarry Bay.

After that visit, I did not dine at Misocool again until they had froyo at their isquare branch.
http://www.openrice.com/english/restaurant/commentdetail.htm?commentid=2050802

I was surprised to see that they have a new branch at MetroCity because it is located in the suburban side of the city.
Although recently there has been so many new restaurants opening at Metro city such as Pasta Marche and Spaghetti 360.

I only tried it this time because of their new dishes.

Frankly the earlier menu at Quarry Bay was quite limited and served mainly noodles.

Now they have western dishes, froyo and lots of other snacks and the prices were not as expensive as it used to be.

The tables and decor are much nicer at this branch in comparison with Quarry Bay.

Mixed spaghetti with stir-fried garlic beef $48:

This was quite cheap for $48.
I liked the mix of squid ink spaghetti and ordinary spaghetti. It was quite nice to start of because the garlic taste was strong, however the beef did not taste that fresh.

After finishing the spaghetti, I realised they put so much oil in it.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Grilled fish filet with scrambled cheese and Japanese rice:

The grilled fish was a piece of salmon and it tasted extremely fishy and the fish was quite dry.

The rice was not cheesy and tasted very milky and creamy.

The peppers and onions ruined it because it tasted stronger than the rice in cream sauce.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Hokkaido milk Froyo float with cream soda and popping boba:

Lastly the drink was the best because froyo is not as sweet as ice-cream so it tastes really nice when you mix it with the cream soda.
As a personal preference, I would prefer the drink without the popping boba balls because they taste really artificial and syrupy.

I was in the area again so decided to get the tossed noodles and try the fish shaomai in Gado Gado sauce.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Tossed noodles:

The noodles tasted as good as my first visit:
http://www.openrice.com/english/restaurant/commentdetail.htm?commentid=2279940
The roast pork and pork strips were lean but not dry.
The Jook-sing noodles did not have an alkaline taste and they were lovely and soft and tasted really nice with the pork slices and spring onions. The prawn patty slices were the best because they were slighty crispy.
Usually I do not like the beanshoots, but the beanshoots here were really nice, each beanshoot was plump and juicy and there was no grassy taste.
The sauce was very spicy.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Fish shaomai in Gado Gado sauce:

The fish shaomai were the usual ones served in Gado Gado sauce which was why I tried them.
The sauce contained a lot of peanuts and lemon grass, and it was very spicy.

Previously came here for lunch during the weekend which was good so came back on a weekday because it was cheaper.

After I ordered the duck confit salad croissant, the popovers were brought over.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Popovers:

The popovers were not as good as the first visit because they had not risen properly.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Duck confit salad croissant:

The duck was nice but the sauce was too creamy and made it sickly and the croissant was quite hard.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Salad:
For the salad section, there was more choice and they had butter lettuce.
The orange and chicory salad was really refreshing.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★

My last review on this place was negative because there were flies, and on this visit these flies were still there ( a month later ) and one stopped by my table for a photo.

Apart from the fly, the restaurant is quite nice.

[Review 2294] Vietnamese Butterlicious fried chicken at KFC @ 肯德基家鄉雞 (KFC) Kentucky Fried Chicken

I went to KFC to try their new Vietnamese Butter chicken which is meant to be Vietnamese style.

They had the set for $38.6 which includes a Japanese curry, two pieces of chicken, Portuguese tart and drink.
At the time of ordering, they did not have any Vietnamese Butter chicken or Portuguese tarts so the chicken had to be freshly fried and the Portugese tarts were from a fresh batch.

I was actually quite glad they ran out of Vietnamese butter chicken because the fresh batch should taste nicer.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Vietnamese Butter chicken:
When it came, the smell of butter was strong.
It reminded me of the the cheese one they had earlier because there was some yellow coloured powder on the coating.

The chicken was fried just right and extremely hot because it was just taken from the fryer.
The chicken inside was juicy and soft.

The overall taste was really nice because you could taste the butter and garlic on the coating but the intensity of the garlic was not as strong as the type that you get in garlic bread.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Japanese curry and rice:

It was the standard Japanese curry sauce with diced vegetables served on rice.
The reason I liked it was because they did not use the pearl rice.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Portuguese tart:

The tart filling was very soft as expected because it had been freshly baked.
There was nothing wrong with the Portuguese tarts but they are just not my cup of tea.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Drink:
A drink was included and it was surprisingly fizzy because the ones I get from KFC are usually flat!

Saw this new restaurant listed on OpenRice and it was classified as Singaporean so I decided to check it out but I never got round to it until recently because it takes an effort to walk over there.

I finally went because I had tasting that day nearby.

When I saw it listed, it reminded me of Madam Lim's Laksa in Shau Kei Wan because of the Madam in the name and they both serve fried chicken wings in prawn paste.

However 林太叻沙xo魚湯米綫專門店 Madam Lim's Laksa has closed down.

This restaurant stands out because of the sheer black and chequered tiles, and the logo is interesting too because they have put the Chinese characters in the letter O of the CHOW.

Inside the restaurant, it was nice and simple with black tables and chairs, the menu is written on the chalkboards.
They have afternoon tea sets, lunch sets and all day sets.

I ordered the noodles, baguettes and chicken wings.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Malacca baguette with sardines:

I was not sure what this was going to be like but it looked interesting so I got it.
When it was served it was two pieces of toast with sardines, lettuce, and thousand island dressing.

The baguette was sliced horizontally into slices which made thin like a toast.
The sardine tasted different because it did not taste like the canned ones with tomatoes.
The fish was really silky, soft and boneless and it had been slightly pan fried with a crispy texture and the salad sauce and lettuce complimented it nicely making it an ideal afternoon snack.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Deep fried chicken wings marinated in prawn paste:

The prawn paste smell and taste was not as strong as I was expecting, but the overall taste was really nice.
The coating of the wings was really crisp and there was a hint of sweetness as well.
There was a side of julienne cucumbers to cool your tongue after eating the fried chicken wings.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Instant noodles in satay sauce with squid:

The satay sauce was slightly too salty but overall it was delicious with the noodles, however I felt that the soy sauce in the noodles were not necessary because the satay sauce was strong enough.
The squid was nice and soft and tasted nice with the satay sauce which had a nice strong peanut taste.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Ginger milk tea:

This was surprisingly nice because the ginger was not strong, but I did not like it because it tastes similar to Chinese milk tea which is not my cup of tea.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Malaysian tea:

Again not my cup of tea because it is similar to Chinese milk tea.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
There is nothing wrong with the tea, but I have never liked the Asian milk tea.

As well as chocolate, you can now get cookies at retail shops, but these Cookies are made outside Hong Kong under the awfully chocolate brand.

Thanks to Mjqueen7e for getting me these.

The cookies were crumbly delicious and the chocolate pieces in the cookies melt when you eat it making it even more chocolatey.
The sweetness was just right.

Thanks to 糖小妹 for these cute cookies.
She gave me the Tea box selection which has the following inside:
Rose, Lavender, green tea, coffee, chocolate, oat and fig.

As well as the Tea box selection, Cookie Galerie also do a Nut selection, Chocolate selection and Chinese selection with Momordica fruit cookies.
They even do Palmier's with flossy pork and Sweet osmanthus.

★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Tea box selection:

The cookies were really cute and colourful with different shapes.
The sweetness was just right and oat and fig was the best because it was nice and sweet.
The green tea was nice and the green tea flavouring was not too grassy and visually I liked the colour.
