To be honest I did not have a good impression of Kung Fu dim sum because the food at the North Point branch was not that good, but this visit changed my opinion and there are more choices at the TST branch.
Heres what we tried:
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Scallop and shrimp dumpling
In these dumplings I liked the crunch in it, because it contained Chinese celery which has a strong grassy taste to balance the scallop and shrimp.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Prawn dumpling
The good thing about these prawn dumplings is that you order by the number of dumplings you want and they do not come in the standard portion of fours.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Stewed conch with yam and chicken leg:
Before the pots of soup came, they gave out cups which I thought were tea cups.
The soup comes in a pot that looks like a tea pot.
Inside the pot, it was loaded with ingredients used for the soup.
We tried two soups, this was my favourite because the ginseng one did not taste strong enough.
The stewed conch soup was definately delicious, it was oil free and clear that you could taste the conch and chicken strongly.
There were so much ingredients in the pot.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Crispy sticky rice with chicken:
The crispy sticky rice was creative, it reminded me of riceburgers.
Here they use fresh chicken in the middle so it was nice.
It tastes like pan fried wrapped glutinous rice with chicken and the crispy rice give its more depth.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Chicken and sliced abalone with red rice in lotus leaf:
This was my favourite! I will be back for this!!
It contains red rice which is healthy and the texture of the rice is not too coarse or dry.
Each grain of rice was deliciously flavoured with abalone.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Chicken feet in abalone sauce
This was another favourite of mine, I will be back for this again.
They were soft gelatinous chicken feet in delicious abalone sauce.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Rice rolls:
There were two rice rolls we tried, beef and enoki mushrooms and BBQ.
Both of them were wrapped in delicately thin rice roll sheets which were silky and smooth.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Sweet egg twist with honey
The great thing about these egg twists was that the honey was served separately and the egg twists did not have any oily odour.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Prawn spring rolls:
They were like thin long straws which were crispy with delicious prawn inside.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Malay sponge cake:
Usually I avoid this but here it was soft, fluffy and the sweetness was just right.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
I will be back soon for the rice wrapped in lotus leaves, soup and the abalone sauce chicken feet!

[Review 2662] Another option for Thai noodles @ 泰皇泰式車仔麵 Sawadika Thai Cart Noodles
17/07/2013
泰皇泰式車仔麵 Sawadika Thai Cart Noodles
此店已改名為紫蘭花
灣仔謝斐道151號F1舖
Shop F1, 151 Jaffe Road, Wan Chai
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/another-option-for-thai-noodles-e2308464
I only noticed this new shop because I was going to Marks and Spencers for something.
It reminded me of this Thai Joint on Anton Road, that shop has been rebranded but owned by the same owner as this place.
Basically they serve the same noodles as that branch.
On this visit I was a bit confused because the broth in Chinese saids "Duck blood soup" and the English is "Duck Soup" which are quite different.
The soup is in a separate bag so the noodles do not go soft.
Anyway, when I got my noodles, it was basically Duck soup and not Duck Blood soup, so if you were expecting Duck blood soup it would have been disappointing.
The noodles tasted nice, and there were lots of vegetables in the noodles (not shown in this picture) but the Chinese radish was a little salty.

[Review 2661] Get off the Ding Ding and get your Bing @ 老金煎餅 Mr. Bing

Shop 6C, Southorn Centre, 113 Johnston Road, Wan Chai
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/get-off-the-ding-ding-and-get-your-bing-e2308401
Mr. Bing serves delicious Beijing style crepes.
The first time I tried them was at Central.
Now they have opened a second branch in Wan Chai right next to the Sugar cane beverage shop.
Since my last visit, there are three new flavours: Shanghai Bing, Green Bing and Kimchi Bing.
Shanghai Bing is bascially the Original with dough stick, pork floss and pickled radish.
Green Bing is basically the Original with lettuce and cucumber.
Kimchi Bing is basically the Original with Kimchi.
It is newly opened hence the operations are not that smooth.
At the Central branch you just pay and wait for the Bings, but at this branch, after you have paid, you have to pass the receipt to one of the crepe makers hence causing some chaos because there are also some people milling about in that area.
The Bing sets were slightly confusing because when I ordered, they asked me what size I wanted for the Bing, but one of the guys promoting said it was the standard size for sets.
The next day, things have improved, there is a line for people to queue.
Tried the Green Bing and I loved it because it was green obviously because of the lettuce.
I loved the taste of the beancurd sauce and cilantro with the lettuce and crepe.

[Review 2660] A juicy summer quencher @ 鴻福堂 Hung Fook Tong

Shop 71, Kowloon MTR Station, Tsim Sha Tsui
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/a-juicy-summer-quencher-e2308367
I don't often buy drinks from Hung Fook Tong because they taste syrupy and sweet but when I found out there was a new drink with guava and grapefruit, I decided to try it.
As well as guava and grapefruit, they had other nice flavours such as passionfruit and grapefruit, pineapple and white bittermelon all at HKD25 per bottle.
The range this year was much better.
They only had strawberry and hawthorn last year which was too sweet.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Citrus drink with passionfruit:
This drink was a mix of Passion fruit juice, orange juice, pomelo and interestingly it also had water chestnut flour.
The combination of passion fruit and orange was really refreshing but the orange juice was not strong.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Citrus with guava:
The colour of this was a pretty pink.
It was a mix of grapefruit and pink guava.
It could have tasted better because the tastes did not blend, it seemed like guava juice with pieces of grapefruit meat put in it and not guava juice blended with grapefruit.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Pineapple with white bittermelon:
The idea of this was good but the tastes of the pineapple and white bitter melon were not blended together.
They were like two separate identities, you could only taste the white bitter melon when you happened to chew on the bitter melon pieces and the drink itself just tasted of pineapple and did not have any bitter melon taste.

Shop F02, Level 1, The Edge, 9 Tong Chun Street, Tseung Kwan O

Went to Burger King to try out their new Fruity iced tea series.
In the range, there are Passion fruit and Mango, and Pomegranate & Red Berries.
I was here to try the pomegranate one.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Pomegranate & Red Berries iced tea hKD12:
I was tempted to ask them for less syrup when they made the drink but then I decided not to bother because sometimes the drinks are pre-mixed.
Luckily when it came, they gave me the syrup separately.
I did not have to use the syrup because it was slighty sweet as they made the drink with concentrated berry cordial.
There were also strawberry seeds at the bottom.
The taste was quite nice, it had a nice berry tart taste, but it also tasted like Roselle tea.
The only disappointment was that the pomegranate and berry over powered the tea taste.

[Review 2658] Fine seafood and huge mantis shrimps @ 御膳 Imperial
16/07/2013
御膳 Imperial
觀塘敬業街65-67號敬運工業大廈12樓F室
Flat F, 12/F, King Win Factory Building, 65-67 King Yip Street, Kwun Tong
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/fine-seafood-and-huge-mantis-shrimps-e2308235
Thanks to Imperial for inviting me to this tasting.
When I first heard the name, it reminded me of Imperial College.
Imperial is located in an industrial building in Kwun Tong.
This was my first experience dining in one and it is becoming a trend for restaurants to move to industrial areas because of the spacious kitchens and lower rents.
When I got there, it was no different to other restaurants but it was more spacious.
They even have their own fish tanks.
Apart from dinners they also do lunches which you can see on OpenRice for their menu.
Here was what we tried, it was for 7 people (approximately $300 per head):
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Spicy platter:
It was a platter of apetizers and the spicyness can be adjusted to your requirements.
There were beef stomachs, julienne cucumber and chicken, eggs and pork intestines.
I do not normally eat the beef stomachs but the spices they used were really nice and the beef stomachs were very clean and it had a nice meaty texture.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Spare ribs in strawberry sauce:
The spare ribs were really good because they were meaty and had a lot of meat attached to the bone.
The pork was fresh and supple and the strawberry sauce was not too sweet.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Typhoon shelter style crab:
This was my first time trying the Typhoon shelter style crab because I do not normally order crab or even eat it because it takes too much effort.
The crispy pieces were delicious and it was deep fried garlic and other goodies which is their secret recipe.
The delicious crispy pieces were wonderful with rice.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Salt and Pepper Mantis Shrimp:
These were the biggest mantis shrimps I have ever tried in my life, they were the size of my lower arm!
I could see the resemblance of a preying mantis claws hence the name Mantis shrimp.
The taste of this was interesting, it was similar to lobster but the texture of it was not so springy.
The shell is nice and crispy which makes it easier to remove the shell than a lobster.
These mantis shrimps cost $2XX each, so getting the set meal is a good deal, as there were three.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Stir fried noodles and beanshoots in crab oil:
The portion of this was huge and each strand of noodle was uniformly coloured.
It would be great of the crab oil taste was stronger.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Vegetables with crabmeat:
The vegetables were covered in lovely crabmeat gravy and the vegetables were naturally sweet.
The crabmeat gravy was also delicious with the noodles.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Steam rice with 龍躉 Giant grouper fish:
The size of this was huge!!
This was steamed fried rice with big fish slices, fried garlic and spring onions on top.
The rice at the bottom was really nice because it has absorbed all the fish essence on top.
The fish slices were chunky and soft.
★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Dessert:
Not a fan of Chinese dessert but I actually had more than I usually do because it was not too sweet.
It was loaded with all sorts of pulses from chickpeas, black eye peas, kidney beans to peanuts.

Thanks to Mjqueen7e for getting me these Chocolate spoons.
In the box, there three milk chocolate ones and three dark chocolate ones.
I tried them on its own and they were quite sweet, but after melting it in dark coffee, it acted as a nice sweetener with a slight hint of chocolate in the coffee.
I also tried melting it in tea too which was nice.
