Went there especially to try something.
When I got there, I couldn't quite find the handle to the door so they opened it for me.
The decor was plain and simple.

Drinks:
The macaroni came with drinks, but it was the Chinese range, so just took a few sips because I don't drink Chinese style drinks.

Macaroni with egg white, organic tofu and tofu puffs:
I was really annoyed with this because it was meant to come in pure white pork bone broth but it was not white at all.
Anyway I asked them why it was not white and he asked the kitchen and told me that it was sold out.
I wish they had told me when I ordered because it wasted my time and effort to dine there when I could have gone elsewhere.
However I should be grateful that they served me patiently because I was the last customer.
Apart from the broth, the other elements such as tofu, egg white, sweetcorn were quite nice and healthy.

Went past this restaurant ages ago in the evening but they didn't serve the noodle sets.
This time I went past they did so I was able to order it this time.
They actually specialize in hot pots which seem quite cheap compared to other places.

As well as the food, the drinks were INTERESTING! This is probably the first place in Hong Kong to have black truffle with soda!!
The decor in the restaurant is quite nice.
They make their own chili sauce which costs $5x per jar.

Vermicelli with chicken in wine:

To be honest, the wine was not strong enough but the broth was full of chicken flavour and yellow chicken oil which made it rich and tasty with the noodles.
I also overheard that the chicken skin contains no fat but I did not try it because I don't like the taste and texture of fatty things.
Anyway, I will try their hotpots next time because their herbal one smelt pretty strong.

Black truffle and lime soda:

This was interesting because black truffle in the drink was quite nice with 7up/sprite with a hint of savouryness.
I would prefer black truffle with soda water because I don't really drink flavoured fizzy drinks but because it was black truffle, I had to try it.
The Chinese and English name didn't quite match because the Chinese said that it had salted lemon but in English, it just said that it was black truffle and lime soda.
Anyway, I hope to try it again with soda water and salted lemon because the salted lemon would definitely make it nicer.

Walked past and saw these newly launched strawberry cookies.

Strawberry cheesecake cookie:
It had the standard soft and chewy texture.
There were pieces of dried strawberries and white chocolate in it.
The taste was rather disappointing because there was no cheesecake taste and it was just sugary.

There are two branches of Tung Tat in Hong Kong but only this branch has fried food.
Sat down on a nice secluded corner and took my time to look at the menu which was sticky and greasy to touch.

Ordered noodles and fried fishcakes

fried fishcakes:


The fishcakes were different to the Western ones, you won't find mashed fish with potatoes because it is blended fish with flour hence the chewiness.
Some parts of it was nice and crispy but the soy sauce they put on it was so concentrated that a drop was extremely salty.

Noodles:

There was a thick layer of oil over it which kept it hot.
The taste was bland but rather spicy.

I was a bit iffy because I thought it was a kids cafe but when I got there, it was surprisingly relaxed with interesting decor.

For food I ordered the grilled cheese toast, carrot cake and Ivy chose the Vegetarian toast and the flapjack.
According to the menu, it seems that the grilled cheese toast was $45 and the cake was $45, but I got charged $105.

Grilled cheese toast:

Simple and delicious with melted cheese and ham.

Crunchy humous:
Humous with sliced and diced carrots, capsicum, red onion and celery, topped with a curry vinaigrette, lettuce and tomato.

The toast was crunchy as claimed with crisp carrots and delicious hummus that had a light curry taste.
It was very filling with all those different vegetables in it.

Carrot cake:

Moist with finely shredded carrots and a strong taste cinnamon and cloves.
The frosting was a bit too sweet.

I never liked them at school but it was comforting to eat them with the same "I don't like it feeling".

Overall, the food was ok but the tea selection was poor.

Came here randomly again and managed to try a new coffee and their apple pie!

I was quite surprised the apple pie was freshly made, the apples were sliced when I ordered it.

There was a hint of coffee in the apple crumble because they like to add coffee to their food and the apples were crisp and tangy so the apple crumble was not too sweet.
The crumble had a nice buttery smell without being too heavy.

This coffee will be launched in May and basically it has earl grey in it.
As a non coffee drinker, I would prefer less coffee and more tea, but it was not that bitter.

Video of the coffee being hand dripped by Bei Coffee's Michael shows the new coffee that will be launched which claims to be a strong one.
The rate of the water being pour in affects the taste.

The third coffee that will be launched is the Coffee with Rose which would be interesting but I don't like rose.

I have never liked Tom Yum Kung or perhaps I have never had an authentic one.
The only impression I got from it was the strong taste of lemon grass.
The Tom Yum Kung here is quite nice and the vermicelli is the super thin type that absorbs the soup.
However, the broth was not that strong compared to the one I had on a earlier visit.
The Thai sausage slices were thick and peppery.
