Previously tried this place at Tai Kok Tsui which was remotely located and quite a trek if you don't live there.
They are now located in the outskirts of Mong Kok right across the road from HeSheEats so people who were going to HeSheEats would have another option if the queue is really long!!

The style is quite different to the other branch, there are lots of wooden tables and shelves contrasted by different ornaments.
It feels like being in the film 'back to the future' as well as school because of the blackboard.

Here was what I tried:

Warm chocolate foam:
Kirsch cherry compote, Lady finger, pink lady yoghurt icecream, warm chocolate foam

I chose this because it had chocolate foam and cherries.
If it was not too sweet then it would have been perfect especially the pairing of cherries and airy light foam balanced by the refreshing yoghurt icecream.

Chestnut purple sweet Potato Mountain:
Sweet purple potato lovers are going to love this because the sweet potato puree has a strong taste with velvety chestnut puree on top.

Test tubes:

Cucumber wasabi shaved ice

Mojito (White plum jelly, Lime mousse, Mint jelly)

Earl grey panna cotta with expresso foam

This was a fun experiment to eat!
You are advised to have the cucumber first, then the lime and then the earl grey.
Personally I liked the refreshing shaved ice because wasabi and cucumber work well together and the earl grey because it was strong enhanced by the bitterness of the expresso.

This desserterie is right next to the famous Indonesian satay joint.
They serve panna cottas in various flavours, Serradura pudding and traditional Chinese desserts which are not my cup of tea.
The prices are quite reasonable too.

Tofu panna cotta $13:

It was not too sweet which was really good and you could taste the creaminess as well as the tofu taste which was really similar to VitaSoy's plain soy milk.

[Review 3359] Quick stop for food @ 米飯班煮

This was the last stop for food in Tsuen Wan.
While I was walking past I was attracted by the crispy bun with cheese and tuna which was similar to a pizza except that it had a crispy bun base.
There are two flavours: salted beef and cheese or cheese, tomato and tuna, or you can have both!!!
The salted beef is expected to be good because it reminds me of corned beef.
Talking of corned beef, they had FISH and CHIPS on the menu too.
I loved this crispy bun because it was good served in a different way other than pork chop or condensed milk.
The bun had a lovely crisp crust with a soft centre topped with delicious tuna, cheese and tomato.
I would have loved more cheese though.

I was in the area so tried this shop because they had baby lotus root salad.
The last time I had it was at a Japanese restaurant where there was only one as a decorative element.

The lotus roots are really cute, they are like thin rods with six capillaries.
They were crunchy drenched in delicious sweet garlic sauce.

The boneless Thai feet salad was also good but it was a bit too spicy for me.

After I left, there was a local TV station filming that shop.

To get ready for the footie season, McDonald's have launched the German chicken sausage burger which was popular last year.
The German chicken sausage burger has Emmental cheese, saukeraut, dill mustard, chicken sausage and a spicy chicken patty, the same as the one in the crispy chicken burger.

Previously tried a trial version which was much better because the chicken was not spicy and it had lemon dressing.

German chicken sausage burger:

I loved the emmental cheese because it has a cheesier taste than McD's regular processed cheese complimented by the tangy saukeraut.
It was a nice filling burger for someone with a large appetite because it had a chicken patty sausage with a lovely herb taste, a nice change from pork or beef sausage.

Potato wedges:

As usual the wedges were delicious with a flavoured coating.

Since the new menu was launched, I have been meaning to get the Marmite bap, but Sai Kung is a real pain in the ass because people flock there and you can't get out. There are not enough minibuses and it is single lane traffic in and out of Sai Kung with lots of flash floods causing havoc!

It was raining that day which was the perfect time to go to SK!

I got a takeaway and needed a plastic bag because it was pouring with rain.
Posted a picture of the bag because the the logo is really nicely designed.

Marmite and cheese bap:

 1 讚好

Expats who love Marmite will love this!
It was the first time I had marmite with cheese because I normally just have marmite with bread, however the saltiness and the cheese went superbly well together.
It made me hungrier and I regretted not getting two  .

HAPPY MOTHER's DAY!!!
Maxim's have launched a good choice of cakes for the big day.
My favourite is the Diamond Box which is a strawberry cake with a beautiful box and a white chocolate shaped diamond on top with flowers beside it.

The next on the list in terms of taste and appearance is the Flower Cake and the Sunflower Black forest.

I like the flower on the cross section when you slice the Flower Cake and the Black forest is always a popular flavour.

Then there is the sweet Macaron Tower or the Flower rainbow cake to choose from.


For mango lovers, there is the Sunflower mango crispy or the Rose blossom for rose lovers.


If all those choices were not enough, there are also two more fruity and summery cakes for energetic mums:



For down to earth mums, there are Chiffon cakes and for mums with green fingers they will love the Tiramisu Garden!!


It appears that Maxim's was a popular choice for the Mothers day cake.

Diamond box:
Thanks to Maxim's PR for sending me a redemption card for the Diamond box.

Basically there was a strawberry chocolate base that was part of the bottom half of the pillow, in the middle it was soft cake with fresh strawberry slices and strawberry mousse.

The mousse was light complemented by the strawberry slices.
On top of the cake, it was decorated with a pretty jewellery box containing a diamond made from white chocolate.
