I always find it a punishment to get food from this place.
The staff are so so and you just get a tacky cocktail fork and a plastic spoon for the food as always.

Tomato and fish rice:
On this visit, the fish was overdone because the coating was too hard even though it was drenched in tomato sauce which should have made it soggy.
The food is just the usual Chinese food and it was just a case of a quick fix.

Tried the new SPICY BEEF BURGER a few days ago but found it too spicy so this time I tried it with and without the Malagueta chili sauce.

Strange activities at this branch of McDonalds:
It was interesting that there were lots of strange activities at this branch ranging from people giving tuition to people eating sushi which was bought from outside!!

Tried this because it was a new drink but evidently it tasted artificial mixed with canned fruit and it was a syrupy sweet concoction.

As usual the potato wedges tasted good.

Spicy beef burger:
With the Malagueta sauce, I found it too spicy but the spicy sauce gave the burger a spicy taste with some creaminess.

Spicy beef burger without sauce:












Without the sauce, the burger did not taste dry because the beef patty for this burger is different, it is softer and I believe it is fattier because it is made with more fat.
Anyway, without the sauce, the burger is still spicy because it contains some chili and spices in the patty which makes it taste like chili con carne.

Came here for desserts after dining in Central.
Ordered two desserts, one was too sweet and the other was great.

Creme brulee:
I found the creme brulee too sweet so I didn't like it, however there is a shot of expresso beside it to balance out the sweetness.

Fresh coconut, shaved ice and a touch of malibu liquor:


This dessert was gorgeous, inside the coconut there was coconut sorbet which was sweet but not cloyingly sweet and the malibu liquor made it even more heavenly.
It would be great if the coconut gels on top could be replaced with fresh coconut flesh instead because the coconut gels were rather sweet.

This is my favourite place for modern sushi rolls.
I was craving for rice so this was just the place.
They also sell them at PMQ but the price is slightly more expensive but the rolls are the same.

The spices were not really strong so I liked it because I could taste the crabmeat as well as the soft shell crab.

The vegetarian roll was not my cup of tea because it was a bit too sweet for my liking and there was not enough beancurd in it.

Since my last visit, the Mexican rice bowl has improved.

I was quite surprised the portion was quite big this time because it was tiny on my previous visit and they ran out of sour cream.
Everything tasted great together with fragrant lime rice, green pepper slices, salsa, sour cream, guacamole and black beans.
Every spoon was packed with exciting tones of spiciness, tartness and the refreshing taste of the salsa and sour cream.

This is a great place to go if you're in Kennedy Town because you can enjoy a lovely seaview with Western food.
Fish and Chick specializes in chicken and fish and chips but it was such a nasty hot day so I only got like a salad.
There was an interesting boat propeller fan above.

Beetroot and cream cheese salad:


The salad was so simple and delicious, young butter lettuce, gem lettuce leaves and beetroot chunks drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with my favourite MALDON SALT and some black pepper.
The best thing about this salad were that the salad leaves were left to air dry after they have been washed which keeps the leaves crisp and sweet.

The salt on the salad gave it such a delicious touch without being overly salty and the beetroot chunks were sweet and juicy.

This restaurant specializes in depurated seafood served in a tasting menu where people can share and enjoy more different dishes.

“Seafood Depuration (purification) is a technique applied in many parts of the world for the removal of microbial contaminants from light to moderately contaminated bivalve molluscan shellfish by placing them in tanks of clean seawater such that they undertake their normal pumping activity for a period of time that may range from several hours to days. It is usually undertaken because it is required by regional, national or local legislation but may also be applied at the discretion of the industry to protect their customers, demonstrate due diligence, or to satisfy the requirements of legislation in other regions or counties in order to be able to export to these.” source: United Nations FAO, 2008

At TABLE they serve ingredient-based cuisine, with highlights on depurated seafood from their 12,000 sq ft fish farm in Shatin where they ship live seafood to their restaurants daily.

They serve daily small dishes on the tasting menu, (all items at $158 or $580 for four items).
Cold items are served first followed by hot items.

Usually you are given bread, but here you get rolled filo that was so light and crispy.
It must have taken so much effort to roll it up.

Delicious springy octopus on a crispy baguette slice.

Eel:

Smoked eel on rock, fromage blanc, caviar, potato salad with vinaigrette.
I loved the creamy tart cheese on top of the brussel sprouts.

Mixed Manila, Tua Tia surf clams:

Mixed clams cooked in 24 hours which was served in delicious rich lobster broth.

Kanjang gejang:

Korean soy marinated fresh baby mud crab.
I knew this was going to be delicious but I was quite afraid of getting food poisoning at the same time.
However I can reassure you that it is 100% clean because it is depurated and I did not get any ill effects the next day!! AMAZING!!!
Finally a place where you can have delicious and safe seafood.
The crab was divine soaked heavily in soy marinade which had a strong fermented taste just like alcohol.

lobster medallion:

Lardo crudo, citrus-white miso sauce.
I loved the paper thin lardo crudo which complemented the springy lobster with saltiness.

Moroccan style preserved lemon, green olives with cous cous.
As well as seafood, I was amazed with this because I love Mediterranean dishes too.
The baby chicken was cute and tender in delicious lemon gravy.

Flower crab chunky crab cake:

egg yolk kofta, umeboshi aioli.
Crab lovers will love this substantial pile of crabmeat paired with molten egg yolk croquette.

mud crab:

pesto rice, runny crab roe and pesto.
This was just as delicious as the Korean crab earlier because the rice was al-dente covered in delicious pesto.
After mixing it with the runny crab roe, the taste was just heaven.
It was too delicious to be shared!!!

Korean baby abalone:

This was soy butter panfred abalone but there was also fried abalone in vodka batter.
I am definitely going to try the battered one next time.
The abalone was tender, evenly coated in butter with a rich soy taste.
